3rd trimester constantly starving!!!

Ok so I know pregnancy makes you more hungry but I've been doing good up until this last trimester. I'm 30 weeks Sunday and just feel constantly ravenous... I'm waiting to get so big my stomach has no more room but that's yet to come. Anything you ladies have been eating that really curbs your cravings and keeps you full?! I know protein and fats but I need ideas. I really don't want to be the size of the house by 40 weeks!

Re: 3rd trimester constantly starving!!!

  • Lately I've been liking hardboiled eggs and boost shakes.
DS 9/2/13 was a BFP from an IUI!
Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!

  • Oh boost shakes are a good idea! I used to eat a banana a day but it's one thing that never appeals to me anymore. Oatmeal cream pies soooooo good!!!

  • Cheese and almonds seem to keep me satisfied for a long time without making me feel full and gross.
  • Protein shakes with banana and peanut butter help me. I started making them with vanilla almond milk for extra calcium.

  • I'm allergic to nuts and have dairy issues, so I have a hard time finding quick and easy proteins.  I do eat a lot of hard boiled eggs though.

  • I feel like I eat, and then 2 hours later I'm hungry. I work really long days, so I bring oatmeal (instant), pbj, a big salad, a few yogurts and a bunch of fruit. I know salads don't sound great (although my favorite food), they are really filling and tend to keep me fuller longer. I also have walnuts and almonds in my bag, or chia seeds to mix with my yogurt/oatmeal and they are filling too. Hmm, I also drink a lot of water and decaf tea, sipping between meals helps curb my appetite. Now, when I'm not working, forget about it, I eat too much.

  • What I actually eat vs. what I should eat to stay full are very different things... haha. I find that if I let myself get too hungry (busy days, for instance), I end up stuffing myself like a garbage can just to feel full. Days where I bring a lot of snacks with me when I'm running around really helps keep my appetite at bay. If I know I'm leaving the house for the day, I bring a lunch with me but also apples, granola bars, cheese slices (like babybels or individual packaged slices), nuts, oranges, etc.

Snacks that I find particularly filling: tortilla chips + hummus, huge bowl of fruit, yogurt & muesli/granola, protein shakes, cheese (good quality! I don't skimp on my cheese ;))+ crackers, a couple handfuls of nuts, peanut butter toast/english muffin.
  • I have the same problem I'm always hungry especially if I don't eat protein with each meal! Greek yogurt and fruit help curb my hunger and my cravings for sweets! Lol

  • Greek yogurt and pbj's have been what keeps me from eating entire bags of chocolate everyday. The struggle is real.
  • Greek yogurt with kashi mixed in is a staple for me, pretty filling.

Almonds, cheese sticks, peanut butter, apples, bananas. I also find that if I drink a ton of water I get hungry less. And in my iced coffee I get a shit ton of skim milk. Or a skim milk steamer from Starbucks- filling and delicious!

  • Great ideas ladies!!! I do pretty good on the days I work and prep out snacks but at home all day is rough. We eat dinner at 630 by 830 I eat a snack ad by ten when I'm falling asleep my stomach is growling again. I try to just fall asleep but some nights I give in and eat again seems ridiculous at night!
