Best Dispoable-Heavy Wetter

Hi ladies, I was hoping those of you with heavy wetters could point me in the direction of your favorite disposable diaper? We've been using pampers swaddlers, as that is what we were gifted, but it seems every other night or so they leak massively and soak her Pjs and bassinet sheet. I tried moving up to size 1 and still having the same issue. Looking to buy something else for at night and we will use the Pampers up during the day when she seems to wet less.

Re: Best Dispoable-Heavy Wetter

  • I have that problem with Pampers I think because my babies have wide waists.  The sides never totally touch even on the appropriate size.  I never have this issue with Huggies so we stick with those (we were gifted Pampers with each baby and tried them but always had that problem of soaking the sides of their pjs even after just putting a fresh diaper on them, so frustrating).

  • We had luck with Huggies overnights.

  • Thanks ladies we will give huGgies a try!

  • It really depends on the baby. My babies have done the best with pampers swaddlers while every Huggies diaper would leak. I've heard the exact opposite though for others. I would just keep trying one until you find a good one. I'm also a big fan of target diapers for my oldest.

  • Same issue here as @alyshamarie007 I've hated Huggies for my guy but have had good experiences with pampers. I think my mom said she used Luvs with me? I think it's just trial and error honestly. I feel like we could do better than Pampers because even changing dirty diapers right away I see it starting to hit the edges of the legs. I'm ready for my guy to be big enough for our cloth honestly :)

  • With DD, we got a bunch of huggies from the hospital but it turns her pee pee into gel and it was sticking to her private part and we had to peel it off. It didnt seem too pleasant so we stopped using it. Pampers swaddler and overnight both worked well for us. I would be ok using huggies with DS (when he actually decides to come out).

  • Same here! Huggies leaked EVERY TIME, but Pampers Swaddlers never do.

It makes me wonder about the differences in the babies.  I've tried Pampers up one way and down the other, and I can't make them not leak.  The only thing I can figure is that my babies have wide waists (but short torsos).  What are your thoughts?  Do you have a lean/long LO?
  • My babies were both long.  May have something to do with it.

  • We love swaddlers and both of my LOs are long and lean so I believe that it does make a difference.

  • So far we have had pretty good luck with Huggies and the White Cloud brand. I hated the Pampers, haven't tried Luvs, and hear that Safeway brand diapers are pretty good. :)
  • My son would pee out the side of Pampers swaddlers because he is a heavy wetter so we went to Luvs and haven't had a problem since!
  • Huggies seem to be working for us. Luvs and pampers were leaking a lot more.
