Okay, so my discussion title might be optimistic, but...are we ready to talk baby names yet???
It's so hard to get good advice from people on names. I don't know why. Like, we're thinking about Peter for a boy, and everyone we talk to says "I love that!" But they can't all really love it. It's a synonym for penis, I know. Someone has to not like it. Plus, our last name starts with P, and I'm afraid "Petey P____" is too much like a cartoon character.
So, I need honest opinions. Also, I need suggestions for girl names. I love French names, but my husband is not on board with any of my many suggestions.
What are you ladies thinking?!
Re: Super Awesome Honest Giant Baby Names Thread
We have pretty much decided on Florence Rhee (we know it's a girl). Florence is after Florence Nightingale... I wanted to name her after a strong woman in history. Also it has the added meaning of my husband's grandmother being from near Florence Italy.
Rhee was my great grandmother's nickname. It is short for Marie ( but we didn't want to use Marie because it is my middle name)
I'm loving Ella Grace for a girl so H and I are talking about it. He's not one to make a rash decision (took him 7 years to propose lol) so it'll be a bit before we decide for sure.

We're open to other options but we've been pretty much set on these names since starting to TTC (or maybe even before): girl is Genevieve Rose and boy is Liam Henry.
Liam is the ONLY boy name we can agree on, although I hate that it's so popular. I just hate almost every boy name and DH vetoed the only other ones I like (Luca and Elias).
For boys, I like Archer, Beckett, Harrison, and Wesley. Regardless of what he have, we need to do a looot more thinking on the baby name front and we don't usually agree!
I thought we had agreed on Henry Michael for a boy, but DH wants to "keep looking." Augh!
Aria Grace
Melody Grace
Stella Grace
Chase David
We like Oliver but don't like it with David. Having a much harder time with boy names!
We probably won't name our little one until we are forced to like our last one. She had (and still has) rosie cheeks so we named her Rosalie.
I really dig old names.

Little Miss Rosalie Harper--Born Jan 9th, 2014
boy/boy: Beau Cooper (or Beau Sebastian) and Benjamin Maddox
boy/girl: Beau Cooper (or Beau Sebastian) and Finleigh Jo
girl/girl: Finleigh Grey and Cora Jo
Jo is my family middle name for women and my SO's middle name is Leigh.
Reagan Marie or Noelle Marie
For a boy:
Michael Knox (call him Knox) or Owen Michael
Marie and Michael are both family names.
Enzo is kinda, not really after my grandfather. James is hubby's middle name. Skye we stole from a TV show but we thought Skylar sounded better with Nicole, which was my husband's best friend who passed away.

Our other girl name was Rosalia but for some reason my dad and grandma don't like it (and the whole point was that it's a version of my grandmother's name so if she doesn't like it, what's the point haha), I think it's soooooo pretty!

Alexander James
James Alexander

not totally set on names yet but I like Charles or William for a boy. Girls are much harder for me. I'm leaning towards Hazel (H's great grandmas name) either as first or middle name, but I also kind of like Elizabeth. Nothing for a girls name is really screaming at me, where we knew my DS's name years before we even got pregnant.

Our only name we're considering right now is Theodore, and call him Theo for short. His middle name will be my maiden name regardless of what we decide for his first name. We also really loved the names Jude and Isaiah but I have two recently born nephews and their parents chose those names. Ha
Girl names are way easier. We have a mile-long list of possibilities, but our two favorites are Larissa Louise and Evelyn Joy. (I've literally had the name Evelyn picked since I was TEN YEARS OLD and I read it in an antique book, and my husband loves it too, BUT it's so popular right now.
He wants traditional English names. I'm thinking I would like if we do an English name, we do a Swahili second name. A child's middle name is ALWAYS the fathers name here, so basically the kid would have two middle names. We just have to be careful because certain names are particularly hard to say. My name for instant, Kelly, is NEVER EVER said correctly on the first try. So we have a lot to think about.
