I can never read his hunger cues anymore either! I feel like I'm just constantly pulling my boob out like uh here is this what you want? Haha usually he answer is yes but he certainly will let me know if it's not!
Anyone else's LO breastfeed often and quickly? Mine eats for about 5 minutes every 2-3 hours. He's gaining good weight but I worry that he isn't getting enough sometimes!

Yep! My LO has only been eating for that amount of time since he was 8 weeks old! It just means they are getting more efficient at eating!

Mine is! He only eats for a few minutes but he does eat every 2 hours. I send 4 oz bottles of milk to daycare and he often eats 3-4 oz of milk every 2 hours there. My first son was definitely bigger than my 2nd at thos point so I worry that he isn't eating as much as he should be sometimes, but he's growing so that's all that matters I guess. I did also start giving him oatmeal at dinnertime a few days a week but it's more to get him ised to sitting at the table with the family, playing with a spoon,etc. He eats very little oatmeal so far.
@mestokes yes! My little guy eats 5-8 minutes every 2 hours. He was over 16lb at 4 months not sure what he is now at almost 6. I'm guessing heavier since my arms are killing me lol like pp said they get more efficient so it's normal
Lurking from March. Mine has been a 4-6 minute eater (one breast only per feeding) since 2 weeks. This is my second (first had nice 10-15 minute sessions on both per feeding). This LO is actually slightly bigger than my first at this time. He also started sleeping 7 hour stretches at 2 weeks. Eats every 2-3 hours during the day. Like they say, every child is different...my lactation consultants all reassured this is totally normal.
