Are any of you still using he infant insert in your ergobaby? If not, when did you stop and did you just go cold turkey? My little guy came late (in December) so is behind some of you guys but I feel like he's getting a little tall for the infant insert but I feel like he could still use the extra neck support. Was thinking about just not using the pillow and seeing how that works out. I'm looking forward to ditching the insert all together as I think it will be cooler for both him and I.
I never used it because it was far too hot. You can try a rolled up receiving blanket if your Lo is still a bit too small to use the ergo without the insert.
I think the weight limit on the infant insert is 11-12 pounds. We ditched it back at 2 months. Z is 18 lbs and 26in long now, he wouldnt fit in it if I wanted him to now anyways.

Thanks! That's the info I was looking for. I'm definitely getting rid of it now!
My LO came late, too (12/4) but we're just using the Ergo as is now and have been for a couple weeks. We never used the official infant insert, just a rolled up receiving blanket, but he's big enough now that he does fine without it, even for being in a low percentile. I think the rule of thumb is that you should be able to easily kiss baby's head while he's in the Ergo, and if you can't you still need some kind of extra support in it.
I didn't buy the insert. However I used my ktan till she's was about 2 months and I used a blanket under her for the first few weeks in the ergo, she's too tall for anything now .
