Cause im bleeding and cramping and over here they care?
You are right. In America we just want your money. Us health care providers give a rats butt about you. (Please note sarcasm ) Maybe you need to calm down. You are seriously missing pieces of your story and it is hard to follow.
It is frowned upon to go to the ER or UC for bleeding a cramping, especially after a visit with a provider a few days prior. For the same symptoms. What ate they going to do or say? As you already said, you can't cause a miscarriage. Nor stop one.
However, if you called you On Call provider, and they sent you, that is different. But you neglected to say that. Vital information missing.
for instance, in the US you are prescribed medication while pregnant that over here is a total no-no.
I mean, a lot of medications aren't prescribed here during pregnancy if they're dangerous, probably most of them, but then some are safe or even necessary for some people. Are you saying that absolutely no one in your country is ever on meds for any reason when pregnant? Genuinely curious. I have had to stop a few medications while pregnant, but whatever I'm just a dumb Murican I guess.
No one was nasty. You asked for experience/advice, people gave it and were concerned that you were poking your cervix. Not sure what you wanted or what you're so defensive about.

NHS 111 is a free-to-call single non-emergency number medical helpline operating in England and Scotland. The service is part of each region's National Health Service and has replaced the telephone triage and advice services provided by NHS Direct, NHS24 and local GP out-of-hours services.
........ Thanks?

Sooo sounds the same as over here? I guess we're not the only ones that are totally ignorant of other country's healthcare systems. Not that I expect someone from the UK to know everything about how US healthcare works, but you seem to expect the opposite.

Especially considering that The Bump is an American company, based out of New York. So over 90% of us are dumb uncaring Americans.
i dont understand the need for an urgent 10pm doctor appointment if your regular doctor who is familiar with you and your history did not advise anything in the first place? in fact they advised so little that you came to an online forum of non doctors begging for advice.
maybe I don't understand because I'm a stupid American....
primrosemama ive already covered this. You all seem to be highly shocked at such a normal thing. Tell you what, seeing as you all seem to enjoy the subject and this is your 'entertainment', try searching the forums for cervix and youll see how very common it is! Youll all have a field day!!
When TTC? Yeah cervical position is a big deal etc. but when pregnant? Nope. Its a bad idea to go messing with your cervix. It can cause irritation, scratch it, bruise it. It won't help you gain any useful information anyway. I'm not entirely sure what you are doing digging around up there. What are you looking for? Is there any medically valid reason to check your own cervix in early pregnancy? I don't believe so. My OB and CNM, both qualified medical professionals, try to minimize cervical checks during pregnancy. In fact, there is almost no medical information that can be gleaned by checking your cervix at this stage. All it does is irritate it and might cause bleeding. Its not recommended. This is not my first rodeo.
Its amusing that you are telling me to use the search feature since I've been an active, supportive and educated participant on Thebump since 2012...
my doctor wouldn't even do a pap because she didn't want to mess with my cervix.
and she's not originally from America so that theory is out the window.
common sense says if you're bleeding from your cervix you don't introduce new bacteria or irritation from contact to a sensitive and potentially infected mucous membrane.
Ok. So what do you want us to say? Obviously our medical system is different (not stupid or not caring ). A UC or ER would literally do an US, tell you if it is a miscarriage, eptopic or not. If not, they would give the DX of a 'threaten miscarriage ' and tell you to follow up with your provider. Excuse me, midwife.
We don't have a nurse call line or 111 or whatever. Some private insurance may though. We call our ObGyn/CNM office directly, regardless of time. The on call staff takes a message and sends it to the on call provider. Who then calls us back. At that time we are given advice or directions.
That is how our system works. So instead of being condescending and mocking us for our ignorance, maybe you should understand ourbsystem. Considering this is an US company.
also isn't it like 3am over there? personally I would be asleep to rest myself and my growing baby instead of fighting wth stupid Americans on the Internet
Dude, you wanted advice. You got advice. You didn't like the advice. So instead of going hulk and insulting Americans because we see checking your cervix while pregnant as unnecessary, and see doing so while bleeding and pregnant as a "no-no" as you put it - just walk away. You're really just making an ass out of yourself at this point.
Don't ask for advice if you aren't open to all answers, whether you like them or not. There's a life lesson for you. Now stop being a Rude Robbin and move on with your life.

Yeah, it is 10pm here and I am exhausted. But then again, not only am I a dumb American, I am a Southern one too
