Yay!  It's my first ticker change post AND I finally updated my ticker from my pregnancy with DS, so it doesn't say I'm 927 weeks pregnant anymore.  :#

    Week:
     5

What's new with baby (size, development):
    Appleseed - beginning to form
    major organs & systems

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Honestly nothing at this point. This is #2 for us, and obviously super early, so nothing really to do at this point.

    Rant/rave/symptoms/questions:
When I found out I was pregnant, I began weaning DS from his AM nursing session. He and I are both ready (he's 2.5), but naptime/before bed is going to be much more difficult. I'm not against BFing through pregnancy, but I do feel it's time.

    When is your next appointment:
April 19 is my first appt

GTKY: I didn't go back on BC after DS was born Oct. '13, but I do have pretty good O signs, plus we used the POM. Once I started really paying attention and "trying", it was the first month.
I had upped my H2O intake the month before, HIO quite a bit during FW and did eat pineapple/pineapple core after confirmed O. Who knows if any of it helped, or whether we were just lucky.

What's new with baby (size, development): sweet pea. facial features and ear canals are forming, as well as limb buds.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby:  It's way too early for this question.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions:  I'm kind of freaked out by the lack of symptoms I've been having. I've been having food aversions, not really any nausea yet (but sometimes a general "unwell" feeling), nips a little sore off and on, boobs finally felt sore yesterday, and I totes think they're slightly bigger today! Ha! Oh and I definitely have fatigue, but not bad enough that I fall asleep the second I get home. I still stay awake until regular bed time, I just don't feel like getting up and doing anything.

When is your next appointment: April 1. I'm so nervous. I just hope everything is going to look okay and on schedule.

GTKY: How many months/cycles before you conceived?  Anything in particular you feel helped?  I went off of HBC in June, we started TTC in September (after our trip to Europe), and I had a chemical pregnancy (miscarriage) in December - well it was over New Year's, so happy 2016 to me. The doctor said we didn't need to wait so we just kept trying and I got pregnant with this niblet in my 2nd cycle TTCAL, 6th cycle of TTC. Things I think helped:  evening primrose oil for EWCM before O, acupuncture a couple of days before O, I drank a lot of Yakult (no idea if this helped at all), green tea during FW, and we didn't overdo it on the sex this cycle, and tried not to use any lube as much as possible. When we tried the month after my CP, I had delayed O (12 days of fertile CM and we HIO'd most of those days), and I think the too much sex had a negative impact on the swimmers. I think that's it? It sounds like a lot, but it really wasn't.

    Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: I have HG and it's killing me. :(

When is your next appointment: ultrasound Tuesday. Doc April 13th.

GTKY: How many months/cycles before you conceived?  Anything in particular you feeL helped?
Ugh, since my mc in 2013. But my cycles are messed up so 24. It was Letrozole that finally worked. We just got lucky.
I've probably been on The Bump longer than you have.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Started baby journal

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: Quesy, but not throwing up. Ready to move on to second trimester!

When is your next appointment: No clue. Fertility clinic is supposed to refer me to the OB and they will call me when they want me to come in.

GTKY: How many months/cycles before you conceived?  Anything in particular you feel helped?
Several years in my case, and what 'helped' was undergoing IVF :-) We are lucky in that they recently began funding this via the provincial health plan; we had to pay for the meds, but the procedure was funded.
  • *lurking from Monday ticker*

@atcwag I ate pineapple core after O this cycle too, maybe it does work. This was our 4 cycle post MC, 7 cycle total.

  • Hi ladies. I'm new to this thread - I had been on Wednesday's thread but my ultrasound showed me measuring ahead and with a conflict of OPK and temping, my EDD has changed. Looking forward to getting to know you all!

What's new with baby (size, development): Raspberry

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: DH and I are planning out how/when to move dd to her new room. Her current room will be the baby's room. We're going to try to get our floors refinished and a few rooms painted during the transition since so much furniture will need to be moved, anyway.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: Not much to talk about symptom-wise. Tired, bloated and gassy so pretty much par for the course.

When is your next appointment: I'll go for my AMA testing sometime the third week of April but it's not scheduled yet. Also have an appointment with my midwife scheduled that week.

GTKY: How many months/cycles before you conceived?  Anything in particular you feel helped?
We conceived in our 5th cycle. I started getting acupuncture at the start of that cycle and would bet money that it helped, even if it was just that it relaxes me enough to let my body do its thing.

What's new with baby (size, development): Blueberry

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: literally the same as @maggmagoo21, down to even the floors and paint...that's sooo wierd lol

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions:  I'm not experiencing ms which I'm grateful for but most of the time when I eat or drink it just doesn't sit right.  I'm going to start trying smaller, more frequent meals to see if that does the trick.  Oh and water...yuck!

When is your next appointment:  Dating Ultrasound this coming Wednesday!!

GTKY: This was our 4th cycle though I'll never be sure if the first cycle should be counted as I think We may have completely missed the window.  I started OPKs in the 2nd cycle and what I learned is I ovulate early on pretty consistently.  Anyway, I feel doing OPKs was the trick because otherwise we would have been missing the peak window over and over again.

What's new with baby (size, development): Looking more like a baby than a tadpole!

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Finally going to the doctor this week!

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: I still feel hungover every day, but I only manage to actually throw up after I brush my teeth - and especially if my 3 year old is in the bathroom with me. She's now terrified of "the hiccups!"

When is your next appointment: Wednesday - finally!

GTKY: How many months/cycles before you conceived?  Anything in particular you feel helped?
We had unprotected sex ONE time ever and we conceived our daughter. I was riding high on my pregnancy goddessness, but as life will surely teach you: no one is perfect at anything! We actively tried for 6 months to get pregnant this time and I was starting to get nervous/discouraged. I know 6 months is very, very common, but it felt like such a stark difference from last time. I think what finally helped was 3-fold: 1) I needed to relax! 2) My husband switched to boxers from his Nike compression underwear and 3) We had sex every other day for about 2 weeks

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: yeah I'm with @MissAmeliaPond. I'll do things in a few months.

Rant/rave/symptom/questions: I'm bonkers nauseous, but I'm so happy to be home and done with traveling for the foreseeable future. Vacation was fun, but at least now I can lie around feeling gross on my very own couch.

When is your next appointment: Ultrasound Thursday the 31st.

GTKY: It took us six cycles for this little one to show up. We had lots of sex, and we got lucky this time! We'd been doing the same thing for six months (OPKs and timed sex) so nothing crazy that helped this time.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Nada for a while

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: super nauseous, ridiculously bloated (busted out maternity pants for comfort at work), zero energy.

When is your next appointment: Monday for pelvic exam and next Wednesday (4/6) for follow up ultrasound.

GTKY: I had an ectopic in Aug. so we waited until Nov to start trying again. I wasn't very hopeful during months I ovulated from my right side (tube was removed) but I would up with a bfp on the 2nd time I ovulated from my left. I didn't temp or chart this time around.

What's new with baby (size, development): Sweet pea

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Starting to think about the bedroom situation. There are two bedrooms on the first floor of our house. One is currently occupied by DH and I, and the other very small room is DD's. The second floor is one large finished attic space. We're debating between DH and I moving our room up there (but I'm not really comfortable with two small children on the first floor if we're upstairs), moving DD upstairs and the baby into her room, moving both kids upstairs, or putting both in DD's current room. So many pros and cons to each.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: Symptoms: The nausea has become a daily occurrence, but thankfully, it's not unbearable like when I was pregnant with DD. No vomiting yet either. My skin is still crazy sensitive. And I'm constantly tired and feeling in a fog. Raves: My beta level went from 102 on 3/15 to 7,172 this week on 3/22. I'm feeling so relieved by that. The initial low number really had me worried.

When is your next appointment: First appointment and dating ultrasound is scheduled for April 4th.

GTKY: How many months/cycles before you conceived?  Anything in particular you feel helped? We had been TTC since November 2014 (I'm not sure how many cycles it was, as my cycles range anywhere from 30-45 days). We've also had two losses since then. After my most recent loss this past November, we got pregnant again on the 2nd cycle. I think the biggest thing that helped was we stopped "trying." We stopped timing sex and tracking ovulation. I think taking that stress out of the equation was key for us.

What's new with baby (size, development): Sweet pea

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Nothing yet.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: I did have to pee a lot but that symptom has gone away the last few days. I POAS this morning because I was freaking out, plus I've had a little bit of cramping but no spotting luckily. The line was darker than the control line so hopefully that's a good sign.

When is your next appointment: April 7 for my first OB appt including our first ultrasound! I've been really anxious so I'm really hoping for good news!

GTKY: How many months/cycles before you conceived?  Anything in particular you feel helped? 6 cycles. 1st one I didn't ovulate, 5th cycle had an early mc, conceived right after. 5th and 6th cycles we stopped using lube which I think helped. Other than that I don't think we did anything different as we had been tracking ovulation the whole time and were having sex every other day.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Have names decided

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: I don't have any symptoms yet, should I be worried?

When is your next appointment: No idea...in middle of a big cross country move, my drs here say its too early to be seen.

GTKY: This is all new to me.  I went from having no kids for 11 yrs (infertility) to about to have 2 in November :)

  • Week: 8!

What's new with baby: Baby is the size of a raspberry! I feel like I already look pregnant though. Second baby bliss.

What's something you are doing to get ready for baby: We started picking out ideas for the nursery (boy theme/girl theme) and gave our 3 1/2 year old a big girl room.

Rave/rants/symptoms: I'm so sick still and I can't wait for the first trimester to be done. Holy moly.

When is your next appointment: Today at 3:15!! It's my first ultrasound.

GTKY: it took us about 7 months to conceive. I have no secret tips or tricks but I will say that the second we "gave up" and stopped tracking, boom we were pregnant.
