TTC After a Loss

hi- new here

hi everyone. i posted a few times on another thread and have been lurking so i figured it's time to introduce myself.

***TW- child mentioned***

This might be a little TMI. I am joining you all because I had an ectopic pregnancy discovered on Feb 26. I was 8 weeks pregnant with our second. Me and DH have a 16 month old son and were excited and overjoyed to be adding to our family. I think the whole time I knew something was off, I felt different from the first time but I told myself I'm just busier and don't have time to examine every symptom. Anyway, the morning of my first appointment I started to bleed and was so thankful that I was heading to my 1st appointment to alleviate any worry I had. Unfortunately, the tech couldn't find a baby in my uterus but instead saw a mass near by left ovary. I had a faint BFP in the dr office. The dr's did an exam and lots of bloodwork and it was determined the pregnancy was ectopic and administered methotrexate later that day. The timing of everything is still crazy to me because had I not gone for the ultrasound exactly when I did, I would have assumed I was having a miscarriage and would have gone untreated which would have majorly complicated ttc in the future. I started bleeding heavily immediately after the ultrasound, even before receiving the MTX shot. I was so shocked and overwhelmed that it took me a while to process everything that was happening, I was/am mostly scared about that this means for any future pregnancies. I have been going weekly for beta draws and am hoping today to finally get a 0. The next steps I believe will be an HSG to check that status of my tubes and then a waiting period. I am anxious to physically move past all this and get the green light ttc. I look forward to getting to know you all and hope we all have short stints here

So sorry for your loss. I'm glad for you that the timing of your appointment worked out the way that it did though. I'm hoping you get your 0 soon on your betas. The continual blood draws can be emotionally exhausting. Also, if your Dr. didn't mention anything, take some ibuprofen before your HSG as it can be pretty uncomfortable. Best wishes!
