Madeline Sibset

Hello ladies! So, I am pregnant with #2 and looking for baby girl name options. Our DD is Madeline Lorraine. DH won't budge on his boy name, so we have Clinton for a boy name picked out... I am in love with Elizabeth for a girl, Eliza or Betty for short... Other names I like are Eleanor, Claire and Savannah... Thoughts, opinions and suggestions?

With Madeline,  I like Elizabeth and Eleanor best. Claire feels too short and Savanah seems a bit out of left field.

Elizabeth Claire would be gorgeous and pairs perfectly with Madeline Lorraine. Love the nn Eliza. Eleanor is adorable too, but I am not a fan of the nickname Ellie which I feel is unfortunately inevitable. Savannah is a guilty pleasure name for me but I think sounds a little trendy paired with Madeline.

Madeline Lorraine and Elizabeth Claire! Savannah doesn't have the same class/sophistication, and Eleanor lends itself to very popular nn Ellie (I know 3 born the past year).

Agree - Elizabeth Claire is beautiful.  Two of my favorite names.

They're all nice but I like Claire the best and Eleanor the least. Suggest:

    Susanna
    Alexandra
    Georgia
    Juliet
    Charlotte
    Bethany
    Hannah

If you choose the nn Eliza why not just use it as a standalone name? I am biased because it is my own name, but I never understood it as a nn of Elizabeth. They don't sound alike at all. The long "eye" sound in Eliza changes it too much. Just a thought.

I actually really like Elizabeth. I love it more whenever I learn of different nicknames. I work with an Elizabeth who goes by Biz and I think that's pretty badass.

If my LO is a girl she will be Savannah so obviously I'm a little biased - I also love Madeline :)

I really like both Elizabeth and Claire, but agree that there are so many Ellie's recently that I would try not to use that as a nn.

    NAF of Eleanor.

I like all of your choices (except Clinton). Elizabeth nn Eliza or Eleanor are my favorites. I don't really like Claire as a first name too much, I like it better as a middle. Savannah is pretty too.

@alyssa0714 I don't like Clinton either, and am praying for a girl... But I told DH he can name a boy since I picked DD's name... I'm really regretting it now lol...

If you have a boy, might your husband's political inclinations persuade him not to name his child after the first woman president who took office the year of his birth? Just a thought since you don't like the name! ;)

@JadaBlue he likes the name because of Clint Eastwood, who's full name is actually Clinton... I'm pretty sure he has every movie the man ever made. We'll likely call him Clint, not Clinton. Ick, I still hate it...
