Sorry if TMI but after my husband and I had very vigorous sex this morning (2 times) he noticed that he had blood on him. Now, I know that bleeding after sex is quite common at this stage but it is my first pregnancy and everything I read on the internet says spotting and pink bleeding is most common. When he told me and I got up to go to the washroom, I had a gush of light coloured bloody bodily fluid come out and when I wiped myself and used the restroom it was bright red and some of it was very mucus looking (like 2 bloody mucus clots). Um, it was literally running down my leg. After a bit the red blood did diminish to light pink and tonight any sign of it has almost completely gone away. I felt the baby moving quite a lot today and have had no contractions or cramping at all. I am not sure if I completely lost my mucus plug or not but in the past week have noticed small snot like mucus coming out everyday. I haven't had any problems with my pregnancy, and haven't had a cervical exam yet either. So my question is - was this just a normal side effect of rough sex or should I go to the ER to make sure everything is ok? My next OB appointment isn't for another week. Thanks!
Re: 37.5 weeks and bleeding after sex
Also I can't help but side-eye having rough sex that far along. Maybe it's time to take things a little easer until your baby arrives. At that point in my pregnancy I didn't want my DH touching me let alone roughing me up. Yikes.

Hope you find a way to get your worries to fade and have lots more sex. :-)
Just to update others who may be questioning the same thing, baby and I were/are completely fine
I did wait until my next appointment to ask the OB about it since the bleeding had stopped and I wasn't experiencing anything abnormal. He said the symptoms I described were perfectly normal and encouraged my husband and I to have as much sex as we want as it is a natural way to get my body ready for labour.
He even joked with my husband saying - "thanks for doing my job for me" AKA no membrane sweep lol.
I was examined that day too, not because of this but because where I live it was time to sign precautionary induction papers and everything was normal.
