Teething

We got through RSV and pneumonia and went straight into teething. The pediatrician confirmed that Jackson's front bottom tooth is starting to move and this first one can take weeks. He won't hold the cold teether but if I hold it for him he's happy. Other than that I can give him Tylenol and Hyland teething tablets. Anyone else starting to see teething 13 weeks seems so little

Re: Teething

  • Her gums are white and she's been fussy but I can't tell if it's teething, wonder week(leap), sleep regression or
something else. So much goes on at 4 months.

  • I think we are there too. LO is getting over a cold, and the last two nights he has woken up crying about an hour after bedtime and very difficult to soothe. He is also drooling up a storm and is constantly chewing on his fist. Tylenol has helped the crying. Just hoping it isn't an ear infection. He has already had two.

DD's bottom teeth came in at 9/10 weeks, so it's definitely not too early. I didn't realize she was teething until the teeth were breaking through the gums since it was so early.
  • I think Sophie (14w) is teething also. The drool. There's just SO much! Her gums look swollen, her cheeks are pink, but she doesn't have a fever. And she grabs & chews on anything she can get her hands on. Or her hands, if she can't grab anything else. She's more fussy than normal & hasn't been sleeping through the night the last two nights. I think we already got through the leap & she's otherwise fine, so....  :(
  • DD (15 weeks) has been teething for at least a week maybe two. Not to mention there's a 15 week leap that's around four weeks long so it's super fun around here.
  • My  ds also 13 weeks old has been teething for about 2 wks now. Think he has at least 2 coming in. He's been drooling a lot, everything goes into his mouth. No fever been using gel on gums when needed. He's sleeping more during the day and having trouble latching and spitting up more. Hope it breaks soon.

When they are teething do they not want to eat as much? My ds isn't eating as much as he use to and will cry and rip the bottle out of his mouth. He has plenty of wet diapers. He is also chewing on everything and drooling so much.
He has a dr appointment on Friday so I plan to ask the dr too
  • Well my dream-baby, 14 week old muffin has been crabby the past 2 days. And today I found a tooth! Nice to know why he's been harder to put down for a nap and why he's regressed into sleeping in our room again after a week in his crib. Poor guy! ❤️

My my little one has been pulling away from his bottle more the past 3 days! I thought he was gassy but turns out feeding can hurt his gums!

Well I won't  say I'm glad I'm not alone because this sucks. I wish I could make it all better. From everything I read the first is the worst. Poor babies
  • Went looking for this board, my LO has been teething since 13 weeks. Now at 14 weeks is cutting his two bottom mid teeth. He's been good but isn't too fond of being put down. He falls asleep on the boob at night (probably makes me a bad mom, but it's the only thing that keeps him calm and comfortable these nights). Lots of drooling and hand munching, but he'll get through it he's strong! Hope all your babes feel better <3
  • I don't know if teeth or growth spurt. We are in the middle of a leap but she has started drooling a little and won't stop chewing on her hands! But she acts like she can't get enough sleep right now. She slept 9p-7a then 8a-1p yesterday and still took two more naps before bed! She hasn't been acting like she's hurting though so maybe it's just a growth spurt? We will be 13 weeks Tuesday.

My DD did this at 15w, 13adjusted. She needed to nap every hour it seemed. She's drooling a tone and chewing on her hands but no signs of teething in sight.
  • Ellie is doing the drool and constant chewing on everything. She is 12 weeks, she is also napping a lot, but they are cat naps but not sleeping well at night at all. Possibly teething/growth spurt and a leap :grimace:
  • Buddy boy is teething I think. He has all the signs. He has his 4 month appointment tomorrow so I'm eager to see if his doc confirms
  • Little man has a white bump on his gums and his chewing and drooling like a maniac. He's a little over 4 months, so any time now. We havent had to give Tylenol yet though. He's pretty content with gnawing on things to soothe his gums.
  • @sammyjopp this sounds exactly like what my little girl is doing. She's 17 weeks today. I don't know if it's teething or a leap or what, but very restless and hasn't been eating like she was. We go for our 4 month appointment in a week, hope to get some answers then.

i was wondering if drop in appetite was an indication of teething. My LO has started eating less and has a white bump along with the drooling/hand chewing.

  • What do you guys do if they won't nap? Yesterday was hell!! I stopped trying to get him to nap and he stayed up the hole day except for an hour. Wasn't very fussy tho. He usually goes down great when. Tired
