TTT 3/22

Re: TTT 3/22

  • 1. I went back to bed instead of going to work when the nanny got here this morning.
    2. I ate two breakfasts, corn flakes and a burrito. Technically I counter burrito brunch.
    3. Worst pregnancy fear: constipation. Hoping that was a one-time deal last time around!
    4. I have spent the majority of today laying on the couch.
    5. I make a good bouncy house for a 15 month old.
    6. How the hell can hunger and nausea occur so intensely and at the same time?
    7. DH quit drinking till baby comes to be supportive of my new tee-totaler lifestyle.
    8. Last pregnancy I wanted to kill him when football season started.
    9. I'm happy this baby is coming before the holidays. DD got screwed with a Dec 19 bday.
    10. I think I might need cookie dough Ice cream after dinner. Mmmmm...

  • Loading the player...
  • What are preggos pops?? Anything like otter pops?
  • @Cristin343 the Google tells me they are lollipops. Which is nothing short of disappointing.
  • @CassyColberg mehh. I think otter pops sound fantastic right now. I shall use them as my beer replacement.  :#
  • 1. Work is exhausting! I have another month of 6 day work weeks. I hope they pass by quickly!
    2. It feels like an eternity waiting for my first ultrasound. 2w2d to go!
    3. At some point SO and I gotta kick out our roommate to make room for baby. We will definitely be deep cleaning that room first!
    4. SO's mom talked to a psychic who said we'll have twin boys soon. She doesn't even know I'm pregnant yet.
    5. SO can fall asleep in seconds. I'm jealous.
    6. I am terrified of getting ms, especially since I have celiac disease and can't have saltines. But I also almost wish I had more symptoms so this felt real.
    7. I am soooo hungry all the time. I have emptied out my snack drawer at work at record pace!
    8. I have no idea what excuse to give my boss why I need to work a half day right before a deadline... especially since we have the day after off work. But I am not postponing my first us!
    9. It is crazy windy outside right now.
    10. For some reason this is the cat's favorite time to go outside.
  • @zrain I just think I'm being a teeny bit selfish cause I'm more excited about the baby being born cause I can finally tell people I'm KU and not cause I'm excited about the baby (I am excited about the baby, just more excited cause I have my secret too lol)

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @zrain I did! And it was glorious! Peanut Butter Pie Blizzard!
  • @zrain
they can have side panels of stretch or full panel. Meaning from a few inches above your pubic bones it's all spandex-y, stretchy material that hugs the bump perfectly rather than cutting right across it like normal leggings.

I love mine. Just wish I could find some long enough, normal mat leggings are like capris on me. I'm about 6"

The best part of pregnancy is letting the gut out. Doesn't matter if you've got a baby one or a "I've had 4 kids"gut, it always feels good to push that out. Especially in the early 2nd trimester when you want to look "more" pregnant instead of just fat.
  • @zrain so the class I took was an Advanced Cardiac Life Support.  I'm an ER nurse and I can start applying for jobs here now wooohoo!  Also, I couldn't believe that we were having the HARDEST time finding him a rain coat on our way to Seattle.  They had almost exclusively sizes for teacup yorkies and bull mastiffs at several different major pet chains we went to.  You'd think they would keep them well-stocked here.  Ours hates the rain too, but it was really cute, and little girls and grown men just flocked to him

@HomeyDontPlayThat those leggings look amazing.  Also, shout out to another tall girl with tall girl problems!  I completely empathize with the length fail.

  • @HomeyDontPlayThat Wear did you get those leggings at NEED ASAP!!
  • @HomeyDontPlayThat Wear did you get those leggings at NEED ASAP!!
That's a stock photo, but I've found them anywhere from Old Navy, GAP has great ones, Long Tall Sally @virginiaham has tall maternity! Motherhood Maternity, I think Target too.

I lived in leggings and maxi dresses last time. But thankful to escape the July heat at 9months pregnant and then with a newborn, scary stuff. 2nd trimester it's when you feel the best so it's perfect timing.

O/T but this baby couldn't have come at a better time or when they're due. Squeaks in for another tax deduction for the year, beating the summer heat, extra time off at the holidays with the new baby without using excessive vacation ( thanksgiving, husband gets 10 days paid off at Christmas. I'm so thankful.

@virginiaham I love doing the ACLS course! It's fun to hang out with a bunch of strangers and nerd out. I especially like it when there's a podiatrist or PCP or something in the group who has no idea what they're doing and has never been in a code. It's entertaining.
What kind of dog do you have?

@HomeyDontPlayThat Thank you! They sound wonderful. I can't wait for a bump (or just a blump) so I can justify buying some :)

  • @zrain I feel the same way about it!!  We had a pharmacist in our mega code group and he was my favorite player!  But actually he's been in more codes than me haha.  Our dog is a Havanese. (Clearly excited about Cuba opening back up in recent history!)

  • @virginiaham how do you like living in the Seattle area? DH is looking at taking a job in that area in the coming months, which would be great. His parents already live there and I have some family in Washington, as well, so that would be nice. I'm just really worried about how much it rains. We're from Northern California, so I'm used to the sunshine, and I'm afraid I would just get so depressed if it was constantly raining. Plus, DS loves to play outside and I'm afraid he would just end up trapped indoors all the time. Is the rain really that bad? These are all things I want to talk to our family about (the ones who live there), but we aren't saying anything to anyone unless DH actually takes the job. No need to shock/excite people if it's not even going to happen, you know? I would love any insight, I'm kind of freaking out about the possibility of it.

I'm not in Seattle, but I did move to Portland from the Bay Area. The first winter was kinda rough but I've been here 5 years and I absolutely love it. It's so green! The rain doesn't bother me anymore. It just makes the sunny days that much more special. That being said, I'm pretty sure Seattle is a lot more rainy than Portland.
