PCOS and Ovulation kit advice?

Good morning ladies!
For those of you with PCOS, what are some tips you could give me for using the kits? I'm wondering how, if at all, the PCOS hormone imbalance affects the accuracy of the ovulation kits. I just started testing today. It was absolutely negative. Not even a little glimmer of a second line. Although, I know I was wrong in that I took it right away this morning. I've just read it's not wise to do it right away. So I will start testing on my lunch hour instead.

Hi there- so I'm still trying to figure out if it can cause false positives. I have pcos and do get the increased level and then the positive sign. (I have that clear blue monitor that you put the sticks into to read). However I have been ttc for a little less than 3 yrs and have had no pregnancies so I'm working with RE now but I keep forgetting to ask that question

I have PCOS. We have been TTC for 10 months now. I have never turned an OPK except for this cycle while on Femara. 

Unfortunately, everyone is different. Ive read plenty of stories of women with PCOS who turn OPKs every month.

And I did ask the u/s tech today and she said yes you can get false positives with OPKs so just something to consider

Also with pcos, the false positives might happen multiple times within a cycle due to multiple lh surges.

I don't have PCOS but just wanted to say not to worry about the lack of a second line. As long as the control line was there then the test is valid. I commonly see only one line when testing but as I get closer to my surge the second line shows up.

I was turning opks positive left and right last November and I wasn't even ovulating. I haven't ovulated since so I don't know if I will or will not turn one when I try clomid next month. I plan on testing with fmu and mid afternoon when I get home from work.

I'm using okps this cycle. I'm on CD 11 and this morning was the first time I've seen ANY 2nd line on the strip. Still a little doubtful I'll get a dark enough line to be positive.

I thought that I was just getting negatives when I kept getting absolutely no second line, and then got a faint one and thought I had ovulated. It's been a month and no AF, so I reached out And learned that you're technically always supposed to get a faint line on OPKs and when the line is as dark or darker than the control, that's when you're positive. So when I wasn't even getting a smidge of line, something was up. I got my first faint line during a provera cycle. Haven't had AF after and it's been 4 weeks. Now however I get faint lines everyday, so something is back on track. Seeing endo on wed. Will check back. hope this was helpful
