What's Next: Appointments, Milestones, etc.
Thursday is the 1st anniversary of my dd's stillbirth. Then growth scan on Friday with MFM.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Rough week. I'm having a tough time knowing that this baby is now the size of my 1st daughter when I had her. First was the size of a 22 weeker at 28 weeks. My belly is officially bigger than it ever was last time, so I'm taking that as a good sign. Hopefully Friday will confirm this. Working on distractions this week so I may not be on here as much.
GTKY- Tell us about your first date with SO (if applicable. If not, tell us something that we don't know):
First actual date was Pizza Hut. We were young and poor so not a super romantic place but when we figured out we had the same favorite pizza, it was love

What's Next: Appointments, Milestones, etc.
Appointment next Monday, need to go in for the glucose test sometime this week. Milestone (I guess?) is that I'm now big enough for strangers to feel comfortable enough to assume I'm pregnant, so I had my first random questions about my pregnancy from strangers. Thankfully no belly touching from strangers yet.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
Well I'm a teacher and we just started spring break, so that's a major rave! I have so many things I want to get done over the next two weeks. Today I'm doing a major freezer prepping session with my mil...it's our third one and most ambitious yet! And I'm hoping to get started on clearing out the room intended for the nursery, which is currently full of junk. No major symptoms except feeling big and achy all over.
GTKY- Tell us about your first date with SO (if applicable. If not, tell us something that we don't know)
Ha, I don't even know what counts as our first date. We started dating at the beginning of our sophomore year of high school, so my parents wouldn't let him drive me anywhere for the first year! Plus all of our dates had to be chaperoned or we had to be with a group of friends. Cue awkward movie dates with obligatory third wheel friends! I remember our first "real" date was when we had been dating a year and my parents finally agreed that he could drive me and we didn't have to have someone tag along. We went to a steakhouse and savored our freedom! Lol. But hey, as silly as it may have been to date at 15, I loved basically growing up with my husband.
What's next? Milestones, appointments etc:
My next appointment is in two weeks, I had the glucose test two weeks ago and haven't heard anything so I'm thinking I'm probably fine for GD
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I'm amazed at how emotional I am. Yesterday I cried because work was exhausting, I was hungry and making dinner. We also got the apartment we wanted so we are now moving to a place with room for the baby. Packing seems like so much work right now
GTKY: Our first date lasted 36 hours, he was something special from the start. Instead of flowers my husband brought a collection of hammer horror flicks for me (I'm a horror nut), we went for sushi, walked around in a summer misty rain storm, watched some movies, went for roti, mini golfed, and laughed so much I pulled a muscle.
Status Update: 22+3
What's Next? Next appointment isn't until 4/4. We moved this last week which was crazy exhausting and all weekend I started feeling some pains that wouldn't last long and freaked myself out. Eventually put my PGAL brain at ease with realizing they were round ligament pains. Also, starting to feel on and off bits of pressure down low. Anyone else? I intend to ask my doc about this. I can feel baby girl kicking (though it seems she likes to hang out lower) so I'm not too nervous but that pressure feeling has been new and paired with the RLP a wee bit nerving.
Rants/Raves/symptoms: I am starting to feel more physically pregnant. Breathing is a little harder, sitting up is starting to take a little extra early energy.
GTKY- Tell us about your first date with SO (if applicable. If not, tell us something that we don't know):
We had been talking for a few months before that but I lived on the other side of the country so I came out for my best friends wedding and he took me to a park over looking the city for sunset then he came to my friends rehearsal dinner with me, what a trooper. Finished the night with cheesecake and a warm fire. He also went through an entire day of crazy wedding festivities the next day. I knew after that weekend he was something special and I wasn't letting go. I moved a month later (I'm from out this area so it wasn't too crazy for me to move back) and we married a year and a half after that!
Edited because words are extra hard on Monday mornings
What's Next: Appointments, Milestones, etc.
My 24 week appointment is on Wednesday!
Rants/Raves/Syptoms: FINALLY feeling this little man move around and kick me! Such a relief and really really helps with my anxiety. I'm sorry I'm getting so sappy but omg I never thought I could ever feel so much love for someone I've never even met, he's literally all I think about and now going to bed is my favorite thing because that's when I really get to feel him go nuts.
GTKY- Tell us about your first date with SO.
Pizza from the food court at the mall and we saw The Blind Side, funny enough we were cleaning out some boxes this weekend in our attempt at "nesting" and we found the ticket stubs from that date!
*edited bc spelling is hard
@Mamabish I've been thinking about you and your upcoming anniversary. Thoughts and creepy internet hugs to you!!
Status Update: 22+1
What's Next: Appointments, Milestones, etc: OB check-in and GD test in 2 weeks
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: The joint pain is real. My wrists and ankles hurt and if I sit too long it feels like my back is frozen in place. I'm already having trouble climbing into DH's truck. Good times ahead! Nesting mode kicked in hard this weekend. We finally finished our bathroom reno (AW before/after picture at bottom of post!) which means the nursery is no longer a storage room and I can get to decorating. DH and I have very different preferences for décor; he wants traditional little boy stuff - planes, trains, automobiles, bright colors, etc. While I would much rather do a simple, less "kid" like room. It's going to get interesting haha
GTKY- Tell us about your first date with SO (if applicable. If not, tell us something that we don't know): We had our first date at a 99 Restaurant. We met for dinner, but ended up talking for hours and they eventually had to kick us out because they were closing. We had met online and had been e-mailing and texting for months so already knew a lot about each other, but it was still pretty amazing.

What's Next: Appointments, Milestones, etc. Appointment April 6. I feel like since we've had our Big ultrasound, there's not much to look forward to until delivery.
Rants/Raves/Syptoms: Morning nausea is back, plus insomnia, back pain, etc. i had some random spotting this morning that freaked me out, but I found Baby's heartbeat and I can feel him moving. I'm trying not to panic, but if it comes back, I'm going in.
GTKY- Tell us about your first date with SO (if applicable. If not, tell us something that we don't know): We were highschool sweethearts. Never an "official" first day. we started as Best friends hanging out a lot, and just kind of fell for each other.
Status Update: Weeks+Days 22 weeks 2 days
What's Next: GD test on April 11th (ugh) and OB appt 4/13
Rants/Raves/Syptoms: I had my first loss pregnancy dream last night. it was awful. I woke up terrified and I had to feel my belly and luckily baby gave me a little reassuring nudge. It still sucked. These days I'm still dealing with swelling ankles and feeling just large all around. Yesterday my brother and I took a picture with my dad and I almost cried. @tennisbabymama I feel ya! I felt some pain on my right side and freaked out until I realized its RLP. I'm also struggling with my weight and trying to eat healthy. Major fail this weekend but i'm back on the wagon and trying to keep a clean diet this week. Also I'm really stressed out about this GD test! Is anyone else worried about it?
GTKY- Tell us about your first date with SO (if applicable. If not, tell us something that we don't know): My husband and I went to middle school together but we did not meet until we were doing grad school at the same school. We kept commenting on a friend's fb page until he asked me to meet him at a little pub by the school. We talked for HOURS, until the pub closed and then back at my apartment until 2 AM. If you ask him, he will say I talked a lot but if you ask me, he did all the talking.

What's Next: I need to schedule my GD test...
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Mmm... Nothing to complain about. Felt really tired after going to yoga and taking an hour-long walk yesterday, so I need to be more regular and not do everything on the same day (because of course I didn't exercise much the rest of the week!). My parents are visiting from abroad (where they live) which is nice since I rarely see them, but I have to entertain them (though they don't really ask for that, I just feel like I don't want them to be bored). Also it's snowing again up here! I'm probably forgetting about something, but that is probably a good sign that it's not bothering me too much if I can't think of it right now.........
GTKY- Tell us about your first date with SO (if applicable. If not, tell us something that we don't know): Mmm I do not remember, we were both in college (13 years ago already....) and started hanging out as part of a group of friends, watched a lot of movies together, and then we were together! He's pretty shy so I don't think he ever really asked me out on a proper date... We hung out as long as it was needed for me to convince him I was interested in him!!!
@kellyj103 I am worried about GD. I think partially because I have two friends that had it so I saw what it took for them to manage it (one needed meds and one didn't). I asked my doctor about it at my first appointment and she was surprised I was already thinking about it. As much as I don't want to have it (obviously) I think I'll be relieved either way after the testing just to know and be able to move forward with a plan. The unknown is anxiety provoking for me.

@megstervt Bathroom looks awesome!! You must be super relieved to have that done.

What's Next: Doctor appointment this Friday.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: The achiness is no joke! We spent a lot of time working around our house this weekend, because we're having some friends overnight this coming weekend. My back is definitely feeling it today!! I'm guilty of indulging in my half caf coffee often these days just because I know it makes baby move and helps my PGAL brain. Sorry not sorry!
GTKY- Tell us about your first date with SO (if applicable. If not, tell us something that we don't know):
Ha! Well we first met when I was 18 and he was in his 20's, but both were in other relationships. I always thought he was a hottie and was stoked when I ran into him at a mutual friend's party a few years later and we were both single! We went out a few days later to a tapas restaurant and the rest is history....13 years worth, haha!!

No major things right now! Just starting our Bradley classes next Thursday!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
I totally overdid it on Saturday helping DH do the nursery and swelled to high heaven. Lesson learned. My back and heartburn are really my only rants!
GTKY- Tell us about your first date with SO (if applicable. If not, tell us something that we don't know):
I'd met DH through my boss at work and he had come in to "visit my boss" for several days over a few week period before he finally asked me on a date. When we went out 2 weeks later he took me to dinner and a movie and I remember after he walked me to my door and I watched him walk back to his truck thinking I'd met the man I was going to marry. The conversation and comfort I felt with him was just so undeniable and I've never felt to much like myself with anyone else. 10 years later and we are still going on strong!
I LOVE reading all of these sweet first date stories!!! Its fun to relive for a minute the early days
Status Update: Weeks+Days 24+6
What's Next: Appointments, Milestones, etc. Couple more weeks until my next appointment. GD screen next week.
Rants/Raves/Syptoms: So exhausted still. I can't get the motivation together to get anything done at all. Plus I'm so busy at work I've been totally consumed the last week by working, getting DS's needs met and sleeping as much as I can fit in. Haven't even had time or energy to bump the last week! I had some serious pubic pain this weekend that put me out of commission on Saturday. I could barely walk it hurt so bad. Midwife thought it sounded like SPD and said to take it easy so I just sat in the recliner and worked on my laptop. It seems to mostly have cleared up but I hope it was a temporary thing because it was awful.
GTKY- Tell us about your first date with SO (if applicable. If not, tell us something that we don't know): Didn't really have a first date. We met in high school and spent a lot of time hanging out with mutual friends and one day we just decided we were dating. That was 15 years ago!

What's Next: Appointments, Milestones, etc.
My next appt and GD test aren't until mid-April. I'm also unnaturally concerned about GD, probably just because it's a thing I can worry about. I have two personal training appts this week though which I am more excited about.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
Joint pain, back pain, and heartburn and the big ones this week. Everything is just...ow. I've been working my ass off in the nursery on the new floors and it's taking it out of me. Also my emotions are out of control. Crying could commencement at any moment with no real trigger other than being tired or hungry or just really loving my dog...
GTKY- Tell us about your first date with SO (if applicable. If not, tell us something that we don't know):
We started dating in high school, I'd say our real first "date" was winter formal, though we'd been seeing each other for a while before then. That was more than 9 years ago!
@MamaBish thinking of you this week, sending all my positive thoughts your way.
Status: 22+3
What's next: need to reschedule my appointment for the 5th because I forgot I'm in an all day training that day. Other than that, nothing major scheduled for the time being.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: finally starting to feel some of that mythical second trimester relief! And less like a preteen- my skin seems to be clearing up and my hair is starting to behave itself again. Charlie horses have just become a regular part of my waking up routine. I know I have about ten more minutes in bed after my Charlie horse hits until I have to get up and get moving for the day. We are driving to PA to visit my family for Easter on Thursday. Normally the 12 hour drive is no problem, but we'll see how my hips and back do this time around.
GTKY: We never really had a first official date. We were really good friends in college and realized after we moved away from each other and back to our hometowns that we were never supposed to be apart. After about a year of long distance, I moved to Chicago and we've been happily ever aftering ever since
Status Update: 24+0
What's next: U/S on Thursday and Sunday is my dd from my last pregnancy.
R/R/S: Sigh. So many raves, some rants and symptoms of PSD. Just got a new maternity brace though so I'm hoping that will help!
GTKY: We actually had an entire weekend together. DH was living halfway across the country and came here. He was so sweet. My dad had chemo and radiation the first day so I had told him that I would be back in a few hours. He really wanted to come with us, so he did that. Obviously, the start to the weekend was heavy but we had such a great time!
Status Update: 25w + 3d
What's next: Still like a week and a half til my next appointment, but next weekend is my first baby shower! (His family and our friends are here, all my family is a few hours south. There are to many of them not to have a 2nd shower.) And I am super excited for the showers (I don't get to see a lot of these people much, and celebrating this miracle is a pretty big deal to everyone)
R/R/S: The crying lol I cry at everything! It's a bit overwhelming for someone who isn't used to crying.
I just want ALL the foods!
Sciatica/pinched nerve/RLP etc are still being major jerks, so sometimes getting up/walking is interesting.
And apparently pregnancy carpal tunnel is a thing?! I was about ready to be ER bound (have breathing/circulation/blood disorder issues, so we don't play when something is off) when my hands wouldn't stop tingling. I realized it was only the inside/palm of my hands going into my wrists, and knew it was something different (I dont aleads have pain and tingling together, sometimes just one or the other) . So I guess that's something fun and new I didn't know about (happens daily now).
GTKY: I don't think we ever had a real first date. We were middle school sweethearts (I was best friends with his cousin) so I was all of 12, literally, when we started dating. We have been together for most of the last 16 years. There was a small time we were split up (we both were moved by family and then he went into the Army). We got back together when he was home for a bit from his station and got married within the year. Married 8 years this year. Since I can't tell you a first date story, I will share another.
Even though we had been together for so long, we had never kissed other than on the cheek. The first night we spent together, after he came home, we drove from my house to his to grab his tattooing stuff and rock band stuff (we are such weirdos lol). As he was locking the door to leave, I started to turn to walk across the porch and he said hold on. So I turned back around to look at him, he lifted my chin and just looked in my eyes for a minute. Then he said "Just in case I don't get to later" and kissed me! My husband is SO not a super affection lovey guy in a normal sense. It's more silly little things that I find "romantic"/sweet , and the fact that he knows everything about me, then what most people would consider romantic gestures. So it was a huge deal and one of my favorite memories ever!

Not a whole lot. Next appt in mid April.
Rants/Raves/Syptoms:
Baby is kicking so much. I feel like we are in on our own little secret and I have a sidekick throughout the day. DH finally got to feel a few days ago and got all choked up. ❤️
GTKY- Tell us about your first date with SO (if applicable. If not, tell us something that we don't know):
I thought our first date was a hike we took our dogs on (we met in grad school and bonded over our pups, among other things). At the end, he goes 'so uh, are you single?'. Being smooth is not one of his strong points like @joberkiser's story
So then, we went on an everyone's-on-board-this-time drinks and a movie date. I knew he liked me when he let me drive his car (I don't think he knew that I drive stick when he offered, haha). We fell in love from there.

What's Next: Appointments, Milestones, etc. My next OB appointment is on 4/13 and I'm going to start going to the prenatal classes at the hospital the week before that (my husband will go if he's lucky enough to be scheduled off work). I also ordered my hypnobabies self-study course this morning.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Rants - work has been really stressful and on top of that my husband has been going through a bit of a mid-life crisis regarding his job. We had a really rough night where he told me that he wasn't sure if he was making the right choices for his life. Ultimately, what he meant was that he was afraid he wouldn't be around enough for our son and he wants to be a good dad but it came out more like "I'm not sure if I want this." I spent two days (he works late so often I don't see him during the week until he is off) really upset and sad thinking that he that he wasn't happy about the baby and possibly being married to me. We cleared it up but it was a really rough couple of days (my hormones didn't help).
GTKY- Tell us about your first date with SO (if applicable. If not, tell us something that we don't know): Our first real date was going walking around the French Quarter and the Riverwalk in New Orleans. We ate pizza at one point but generally, we were just talking and enjoying each other's company. It was really nice.
