But the US is a very religious country overall which can make it weird when we're not on their page. (I assume you live here too.. It's been awhile since I checked the "where are you from" thread)

@GreenEyedUnicorn Im agnostic but my MIL is a born again christian. When I was having my trouble last year and going through my MC's she told me that I should pray to God for help and that it worked for one of her friends who was having trouble TTC. I wanted to be all like NO praying is not going to help me get pregnant. Good nutrition and knowing when I ovulate and science might help but dont sit there and tell me praying will help or that its all part of Gods plan. Like He/She is seriously up there planning for me to miscarry. That kind of stuff rubs me the wrong way. Thankfully it was through an email so she didnt have to witness my eyeroll.

I do live here, yes. It's crazy how ostracized one can be for being an atheist. Hell, you can be killed for it in some countries.
I don't believe in God. That's my UO. I know most people do, and at one point I did. But for several years now I've been an agnostic/atheist. And proud of it. I've lost friends because of it, which is perfectly fine with me. I post atheist posts on FB and people bitch, but I'm not apologetic about it. What really religious people don't understand is, as much as my atheist posts offend them, the "I'll pray for you; God works in mysterious ways; that's gods will" stuff offends me.

She often says "I'm praying for you guys" and tells DH that he should go back to church because it can "really help you through tough times"...lots of forced smiles and nods with changes in subject haha

I've never known anyone (including my atheist friends) to be offended by that before, even if they don't share my belief that it will help anything. I've generally had it taken as, "I'm thinking of you" instead. Do you mind explaining why it upsets you?

I can't really explain it without it coming off as rude. It's all just comes down to how ridiculous I think religion is. Especially if you really read the bible and all that it entails. I'd rather not be prayed for. And frankly, I feel that if prayer worked, there wouldn't be all the pain and suffering that there is in the world.

I put peppermint under my nose and it's actually been helping my nausea. Not forever, but for a bit.
I chew peppermint gum under my mask if I'm going into isolation to do something stinky, so I could see that working! I more meant that I don't believe the people that say they improved their child's ADD by massaging their feet with a blend of special oils...that sounds like bull to me.
