False Positive on a Blue Dye CVS Test?

I am on the pill, however I skipped my period last month and tried to get it this month, never got it. Took a test today, would be 5 days past missed. CVS brand early result blue dye. Saw the thinnest line, but looked like a shadow while it was registering. Looked back an hour later, darker thicker line. Is that positive or false? I already have one child, and when I took the test for him 2 days missed period it showed right up...

has anyone else experienced?

Sorry, the only way to know is to take another test.  Blue dye tests are notorious for false positives, so pick up a pink dye test to know for sure.
    My TTC History:
    2009: missed miscarriage #1 at 9 weeks (trisomy 16)
    2010: Infertility
2011: Diagnosis and treatment (low sperm count, anastrozole for DH, clomid for me + IUI)
    2012: Baby #1
    2014: Baby #2
October 2015: missed miscarriage #2 at 11 weeks (trisomy 22)
    March 2016 BFP#5, due November 2016.

  • Like PP said blue dye tests can have false positives. I would pick up first response pink dye test and re-test in the morning. Also make sure you are looking at the test within the time frame provided in the instructions.

  • I would also disregard a test past the time frame listed in the instructions. 1hour seems way too long.

Take another test and be sure to read the instructions.

  • When I would "skip a period" on the pill, my next cycle was often wonky. I'd definitely retest to be sure, but it's normal to have weird cycles when you do that.
  • Buy a digital one. It's pretty straight forward. Yes or no.

Although the digitals are cool it gave me false hopes when I was having an mc and didn't know. I tested positive one day and next day I started bleeding (very early on). The ones with the lines showed very faint and digital said yes. I personally like to see the lines get darker.

OP I use to take the pill for 3 months straight for my endo and at first my periods were very weird in timing until my body got use to it.
