This is a weekly check-in for those in their 2nd trimester: weeks 14 through the end of week 27.
Congrats to all the strong ladies who have made it this far! It's such a great feeling and we've all accomplished so much! We are now 1 week closer to the end of this especially long journey we call "infertility".
Please post below a little about yourself, how many beans you have growing inside, if you have found out the sex(es) and what your EDD is. Please also let us know how far you've made it on your journey and when your next appt is and what for.
Congrats to the mommies who have graduated to the 3rd trimester!
QOTW: What would you do for your own personal "Treat Yo'self Day"? (Please tell me we have some Parks and Rec fans here? If not, it is basically a day where you treat yourself to whatever you want!)
Married to DH 10/6/12
TTC since 5/14
Unexplained with (controlled) hypothyroidism and suspected ovulatory dysfunction (but, I do ovulate on my own)
Clomid 50 mg 3/15 (unmonitored) - BFN
Clomid 50 mg + metformin 4/15 (unmonitored) - BFN
First RE appt. 5/15; Natural cycle 5/15 monitored with 2 mature follicles and Pregnyl Trigger (full dose) + prometrium - BFN
6/15 HSG - clear tubes & normal uterus; great PCT test results
TI - 100 mg Clomid + prometrium (AM & PM) + vaginal estrace (AM & PM) 6-7/15 (monitored) --> no additional response and thinned lining - BFN
TI - Injectables (follistim + Gonal-F, Ganirelix, & 1/2 dose Pregnyl) + prometrium (AM & PM) 9/15 --> 3-7 mature follicles (3 definites and 4+ that could have matured due to trigger) @ O -->BFN + 5 large cysts
Friday's appointment went well--my doctor said my bloodwork looks great, the baby's heartbeat is very good (156!), and my next appointment is April 7, for the 18 week ultrasound. I can't wait to see the baby again. My OB is going on maternity leave, but has promised to be back for the grand finale. She's so tiny, I had no idea she was at the end of her third trimester!
My dream Treat Yo'self Day would consist of brunch downtown, buying as many DVF wrap dresses as my hands could carry, a new purse from Coach (fine leather goods), going to Bliss spa and getting an oxygen facial and a lengthy massage, dinner at a favorite restaurant, and then falling asleep in some kind of insanely comfortable cashmere pajamas.
My actually possible Treat Yo'self Day would consist of brunch downtown, a new dress if I can find a good sale, a prenatal massage with the gift certificates my Mom got me (yay, Mom!), and some excellent Indian takeout from my favorite restaurant. Still sounds good to me.
@chrissym126 I'm glad to hear your appointment went well! I'll definitely have to check out that website. Both of your Treat Yo'Self Days sound amazing!
I am just anxiously awaiting my anatomy scan on Friday. Seriously, is it Friday yet!!?? The baby has been kicking so much more the last two days, and DH felt it multiple times last night. I love watching his eyes light up when he feels it! I snapped this photo last night.
Non-baby related personal life is looking up too! My coworker is back from maternity leave and the last chunk of deadlines I was responsible for are today, and they're done. No more doing 1.75 full time jobs! Woohoo! DH's cousin also officially moved out Saturday morning, so I can finally satisfy my nesting urges!
For my Treat yo'self day, I would get a pedicure and facial and shop in a fancy maternity store on Magazine Street that I don't dare step foot in now. Then, I'd grab a non-alcoholic daiquiri and lay in my portable hammock on the levee next the the river. Then, I'd eat at a fancy steakhouse and enjoy an ice cream sundae in our newly redone backyard patio with DH and cuddle up and read a book.

Update - Tomorrow I'll be 17 weeks! Time is flying! I have my next Dr. appt for my monthly check up on Friday, 3/25. Then the following Friday on 4/1 I have the anatomy scan, which I'm really excited for! I can't wait to see how much my little girl has grown! I've started to feel a little fluttering, but it's really fleeting and I only notice it every few or every couple of days. I can't wait until those kicks and jabs become more noticeable!
QOTW: For my "Treat Yo'self Day" I would spend the morning at the spa with girlfriends and enjoy a nice long Swedish massage, followed by a long lunch to catch up on girl time (which would include mimosas). Then I would head home and have some quality time with DH (see a movie, or go for a long walk, maybe walk around Disneyland, or go bowling) followed by a nice dinner that DH would prepare for me. Finally at the end of the day I'd enjoy a bubble bath with a great book and a glass of wine.
I think I'm going to have to buy bigger bras in the next week I already went up a band size at around 8 weeks but now I'm spilling over again. Otherwise it's been a good pregnancy week. I'm so impatient to find out our baby's gender on April 1st. Keep us posted @riveridgional
QOTW: I ditto the spa day, and also adding in a new Kate Spade purse and a fancy dinner.
Morning ladies! I can't believe I am at 20 weeks! Halfway through the pregnancy already! I am feeling more movement and I've seen the little bumps here and there but nothing that my DH could feel yet. I'm definitely huge already. I can't believe how big my belly is, but I think the donut cravings are a huge contributor.
QOTW: Lay out in the sun and read a book with some yummy snacks and peace and quiet. HA! That will never happen. My two year old will never let me rest hahaha
@katie121209 I hear ya on the bras! I tried to sacrifice an old one until I was more than spilling out. I ending up buying a nursing bra in hopes of it lasting a longer than just the pregnancy.
@TerraMae80 Congratulations on hitting the halfway mark!!!! You look amazing!!!
22 weeks this week Our little babe is moving around like crazy. I'm pretty sure I know exactly where he or she's head, body and feet are based on all the rolls, kicks, and lop-sided-ness of my belly! What an amazing feeling Signed up for hypnobirthing classes this week too!
QOTW: My perfect day would consist of waking up in some beautiful, foreign country to an amazing cup of coffee and a chocolate croissant for breakfast. Then some sort of outdoor activity with my DH (a scenic hike or long walk along a beach), followed by a delicious meal (and a glass of local wine, assuming I'm not preggers) with a view of the ocean on a cool night where my DH and I could just sit and chat and take it all in for hours.
@katie121209 and @mechelita44, do you have any bra recommendations? I'll be 15 weeks on Thursday, so it seems too soon to get a nursing bra, or is it not? I feel like they're going to change more, I'm up at least 1 cup size and 1 band size.
@TerraMae80, you look beautiful! Good luck on the rest. At least there's always donuts.
@chrissym126 I bought this nursing bra from Target probably when I was about 16-17 weeks: https://www.target.com/p/women-s-nursing-seamless-bra-gilligan-o-malley/-/A-14910002#prodSlot=_1_5. I had a pretty small cup size to start (34A) and bought this bra in a small. I tried on others in a larger cup size (34B and 36B) but the fit of those was a little too perfect, I wanted something a little roomy so I could use it later as the girls got bigger. The one I bought is comfortable and I've adjusted it to fit for now, and it still has room to grow. Plus it was under $20 which was selling point for me. I thought it was way too early to get a nursing bra too, but I didn't want to spend the money on a bra that I'd outgrow in a couple of months. So far so good! Good luck!
I bought a bigger size of the bra I was already wearing from Soma (embraceable full coverage) when they had a 2/49 sale. I was already a 34dd to begin with and they carry very large sizes. The bra I have also has a nursing version for later on according to the salesperson. i have tried some cheaper bras from target but I just don't get the support that I do with my chest being so large.
@katie121209 That's good to know about Soma. I'll have to check that out! I've already gone up 2 cup sizes. My issue is that I'm pretty high busted. I thought when my boobs got bigger, they'd drop some, but nope. Now, if I try on a DD, it the side lies directly under my arm pit. I'm thinking about looking into sports bra bras. First, I'll check out Soma. I completely forgot about that place!

Hello ladies. This is my last week at second trimester board. The 3 hr glucose test came back kind of normal. The nurse said that only one of the level out of 4 was slightly elevated so that does not indicate gestational diabetes. Does Anyone have any insight to that? How many values are supposed to be out of norm to have GD??
My perfect day would be either relaxing with a book and some quite. Or spending a day with hubby hiking the trails or a day with girlfriend at a spa
@Binnie505 Congrats on your soon-to-be jump to the third trimester! I wish I had some insight for you on your GD results. But, I'm glad your doctor said you don't have it!

Re: *2nd Tri Check-in Week of March 14*
I love Parks & Rec, and @riveridgional, I recommend you check out Parks and Rings (https://parksandrings.tumblr.com/) if you're also into LOTR. It's pretty amazing.
