I searched through the board and didn't see a thread that was right for this topic. Has anyone made or bought lactation cookies? Any favorite recipes? Any success in making your supply go up?
These are delicious! I always have a stash in the freezer and I eat a couple a day. My friend who pumps a LOT during the day says these increase her supply. I definitely don't skimp on the brewer's yeast.
^^^I made some like these but I definitely DID skip the brewer's yeast. It may be one of the best ingredients to boost lactation but the smell and taste of it is awful. If you have never had it I would recommend going easy with it the first time.
I've tried about 5 different recipes and this one is my favorite: https://www.goldenbarrel.com/recipe/big-and-chewy-oatmeal-cookies/ Its actually not a lactation cookie recipe but I make it that way by adding 4-5tbs of Brewers yeast. I also added an extra 1/2tsp of cinnamon to help mask the Brewers yeast flavor. I would maybe next time add an extra egg or few tbs of water or something bc the Brewers yeast in there caused the mix to be slightly dryer I believe
Ugh. I made my first ever batch of lactation cookies and shoved them in the freezer. A day or so later, my MIL raves about how wonderful they were and ate about 2/3 of the entire stash. I guess it's time to buy a mini fridge. I have yet to see for myself if they help my supply or not (hopefully I'll get to eat some next time).
