Making fortified cereal?

I was wondering if anybody who makes baby food at home has made iron-fortified cereal?  I would like to avoid the store-bought stuff, if we end up giving DD cereal at all...Yes, I am going to consult with the pedi first, just curious if anyone had any anecdotes!

You can just do steel cut oats in place of the cereal. Or any kind of oats.

I made my own rice cereal but stopped because my LO is easily constiaped. My pedi recommended iron fortified oatmeal for babies. I buy earths best organics oatmeal and mix with his formula and pureed fruit.  It has the iron along with other vitamins, not sure why cereals seem to get a bad rep. I still make a lot of other baby food homemade, got the baby bullet and follow the recipes from the book.
