Yes the dr was rude, totally agree, but you didn't mention anything about a nurse talking to you and yet youre tired of dumb nurses? Sorry I'm a nurse and just thought that was a unnecessary to place in the heading. A lot of doctors I have found don't have good bedside manner these days, hope you find one you do like.
A PA is not a doctor or a nurse. They are a physician's assistant. As a nurse, I'm surprised you're not aware of that.
Hi everyone! Just stopping in to say hello and tell you about myself.
im 5 weeks pregnant with my 6th child (not a typo I really said 6th lol)
i have four boys and a girl. I don't really care too much this time if it's one or the other, another girl would be sweet, but I'm an old veteran at boys, so I'm cool either way!
we haven't told anyone yet, because we have had four miscarriages in the last year. So we have nick named the baby to "sticky baby," hence the name. In hopes that our faith in the sticky baby will make him or her stick around for a long time
I think I'm having a boy. I keep calling the baby "he" and even Eric thinks it is strange how I keep referring to the baby as "him"
i sort of wanted a girl, just because together we have two girls, and idk I wanted to see pretty dresses and take her picture in them??? It sounds stupid, but I used to do that all the time for my daughter but lately she doesn't like the clothes I make. She doesn't specifically say that to me, but she won't wear them. Everyone always used to say how pretty her dresses were.

Um yes I'm totally aware of that as I work with those and NPs daily but that wasn't what I was bothered about. I didn't see a reason to clarify that with OP since my main issue was her calling nurses dumb when she didn't state even talking to one.

Already have three furbabies- Blake, Sydney, and Chester
I think PPs covered why your comments about BC are ignorant, so I'm skipping that one.
Maybe it's just me, but I kind of find it refreshing when a medical professional asks if you want to continue a pregnancy in a non judge-mental manner. Because what if you didn't and had nowhere to turn to talk to someone that could be of service? Not all women want to keep their pregnancies and in a lot of cases, they have nowhere to turn.
Honestly the commentary was wrong but asking about BC is totally normal. It's also standard for them to ask if you plan on keeping the pregnancy as their care plan would obviously be different. My OB asked me both questions during my first prenatal.
I had a one-on-one nurse say within earshot of my father, DH, and in laws that I deserved to be in the coma I was in because I was just attention seeking. At that point in time they were still unsure if I was going to live (obviously I don't remember this incident but the comment wrecked my father and husband and they worried over my quality of care when they shouldn't have had to). She was fired-and I don't assume all nurses and doctors are going to treat me that way. In fact my best friend is a wonderful nurse-who if she worked in an OB office would ask about BC to have the best information to treat you.
