A little update from what I had hoped to be an uneventful OB appt...
Baby has an eccentric umbilical cord (said like e-centric, not like eccentric meaning strange, etc). It isn't affecting him right now, but could create issues as the cord is off-centred, & can prevent him from getting all of the nutrients he needs...causing him not to grow properly, potentially cause pre-term labour, or other risks. I have to be monitored more closely now, & will have at least 1 more u/s in 3rd tri to monitor his growth. My OB didn't go into further details today, & I didn't ask any questions because I was trying to take it all in & completely drew a blank. I have my next appt in early April, which is when we discuss everything more. I realize that this could mean nothing negative at all, & that he could still be carried to term & be born without any complications...but now knowing something could be wrong has me stressed out & super emotional.
I don't remember seeing this issue discussed here yet, but has anyone else found out they have this, as well?
At first, I thought you said electric umbilical cord and was so confused.
I have no advice (and have never heard of the electric cord ), but I'm sorry this is adding stress and hope everything turns out A-OK!!

One of my ID girls had this, which is pretty much standard in a shared placenta pregnancy. Both of my girls had growth restrictions mainly because the whole placenta failed by 29 weeks (meant to grow one baby for 40 weeks not two for 30 some lol). They just monitored it with everything else but it was the most minor of our problems. The girl with the eccentric attachment was definitely more growth restricted than her sister though. Are they going to have you get more ultrasounds to check growth as the pregnancy progresses?
Rant Rave Symptoms: constant heartburn and just feeling like a whale in general lol.
what are you doing to prepare for baby? Not much. I basically have some newborn outfits washed and bottles cleaned and put away. My BIL is finally out of the room that will become his eventually but I'm not really into spending money on doing a nursery so all we will have to do is put a crib in there when we move him to that room. Our girls stayed in our room til 14 months so we have time lol.
Favorite fast food: has to be Timmy Ho's or in and out but that is probably because they don't have them in CO.

@DeePaddy24 just wanted to say I'm sorry to hear of the added stress on you! Thoughts & prayers that baby grows healthily and there are no further complications!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms:only thing I've got is I'm going to kill H for thinking making homemade beefy jerky was a great idea the house smells awful. And typical pregnancy symptoms
What are you doing to prepare for baby? I ordered the crib and it was shipped this morning!!
Questions? none that I can think of at the moment.
GTKY: Favorite fast food restaurant? McDonald's just for the Coke hands down!! But food wise I love me some Taco Bell!!
