Going home outfit thread, too soon?

Has anyone picked out their baby's going home outfit?  My MIL texted me the other day saying she wanted to buy them for these babies.  I really want to pick them out myself and she doesn't do well with anyone telling her no, so my DH suggested that I tell her we already have them.  So, of course, she wants to know what colors they are so she can buy a matching blankets! FML!  So now I'm trying to hurry and find some!

Anyways, I thought this would a fun post where everyone can show what they are planning!  We can always come back to it later if it's too soon!!

Team Green here... So I need to get a boy and a girl outfit.

What thinking of an all white outfit (I have one to DH to tell him I was pregnant) and then getting a set of pink accessories and a set of blue ones.

What are the other team green mommas doing?

I had a super cute Husker onesie for DS but I'm going lazy this time.

My other thought is a lion/elephant/giraffe themed sleeper.  I'll have both ready to go.  

I did get them personalized hats at least!

Oh I'm glad you started this thread I've been thinking a lot about this lately too!! I'm team green so I think I'll buy both.. I'm actually debating personalizing them since we know our girl name and our boy name... but that may be too much (and obvi can't return it then). My mom said she has already made a giant girl themed basket full of clothes and a giant boy basket full of clothes that she will bring to the hospital so I have stuff for either... so I could just wait & see what she has but part of me wants to pick it out myself!

I LOVE this but the smallest size available is 3-6 months, literally makes no sense.

@jaceyannie just have REALLY big babies and then you can use that exact one!

I have been shopping around... but I probably won't pick anything out until I wash up everything we already have.  I may try and do the same outfit as DS1.  I like different babies in same outfit comparison pics.

I bought a onesie that says "Born in 2016" that I think baby boy will wear home.  My mom also suggested it would be cute for his newborn shoot and I love that idea!

Yes I'm between a few things. I'm getting my almost 2 year old a big brother shirt and the new baby a little brother shirt. The little baby will wear a matching hat and pants I just can't decide on what print I want

We got a cute "little brother" onesie from Carters (not on their site anymore) and he'll wear that home. We're also getting Big Sister and Big Brother shirts for our older two so we can (hopefully) have some cute pics!

This has been on my mind a lot lately. I'm a bit overwhelmed with deciding what style is best (especially without knowing exactly what the weather will be like)...short sleeves, long sleeves, a 1 piece, pants....so many options!

Team Green mama here. I was thinking buying a white onesie and accessorizing with either a pink hat or a blue hat. But that's the extent of my thought process so far...eek!

Yep!  87% chance for a girl but I guess I'm a boy mom.

I guess I am the only one having a girl on here so far. Haha I want to do a cute little dress with a cardigan because hospitals are always cold. Just haven't found the one yet.

My 3 year old picked out this onesie for her baby sister a few weeks ago, so we're thinking of this along with a pair of pants (that I will choose from the clothes we have tucked away from her big sister's baby days). It's Gerber size 0-3 months, but I do recall that my first wore newborn sized onesies for the first couple of weeks. I'll have big sis pick from that size range, too, just in case. I love the idea of having her decide what her baby sister's first outfit home should be!

@jaceyannie your MIL sheesh it's your baby. You can buy the outfit. Besides. Totally passive aggressive but you can also forget the MIL outfits for coming home and use them in the first week. Send her lots of pics etc.

Also, I have a onesie from my baby shower with my daughter that says "littlest lastname" that they might wear.  They decorated onesies for babies first year at my shower and some of them are amazing and I can't wait to use them again. 

I I also really love the "welcome to the world" one that was posted and might need to buy that too.

@gauge1234 At this point, I am not above being passive aggressive!! It's crazy because I see nothing wrong with saying "that's so nice but I really wanted to pick their outfits out."  But my husbands says it would not go well.  I'm really close to setting my firm boundaries and letting the cards fall where they will!!

This is a good thred for cuteness overload!
 I was sorting old baby clothes last week and found both kids coming home outfits, it reminded me I should pick something out for this baby soon. Both of my others had cute and simple one piece pajamas. I think I'll stick to something similar this time. I don't usually do elaborate outfits on my new borns.

Ugh I'm always so behind! I'm such a slacker momma!! No name and no going home outfit. Poor kid I love all of these that have been posted though! He has lots of clothes so I might use one of those or might look for something else. I need to go back through the clothes he has

With a c section my hospital has you stay 4 days so I've got a couple of outfits lined up. I'm getting the bro/sis combo along with wide leg pants for her (see reason below) for when DS meets his "sussy". And then the gown for going home. We don't know whether she will already have a cast on her leg when we leave so we have to go with a gown. Doesn't look super comfy but she won't be in it long

My first wore a preemie size pajama home and I know we have the same one in a newborn size somewhere.  If it fits, that will be the going home outfit.  If we need something bigger, I'll pick something else from what we have or use anything new we might be gifted before the baby comes.  I won't be buying anything special just for the trip home.

I love these! We packed a hospital bag just in case but since we're delivering at home, LO will be in diapers and swaddles only. 

That said, I put a white onesie and a cute navy zip-up in the hospital bag just in case. It has a sailboat on it and I might put him in it for photos even at home. ☺️ You ladies have such good taste!

Well thanks a lot ladies! I figured I would just bring whatever I already had that was my favourite NB sized outfit, but now I just spent the last half hour on Etsy and I'm *this close* to spending $200 on outfits that will only fit baby for a few weeks.... UGH. Why is everything tiny so cute?!

I've seen a few types of gowns & I'm not sure I would do that because baby needs to go into the car seat. But I guess if there was a blanket, it wouldn't really matter that you have to hitch it up to buckle. 

Super cute outfits on here...I guess I need go figure someone out sooner than later!!
