Bleeding after sex

Last night my fiance and I had sex and my cervix felt slightly tender. Afterwards we noticed there was quite a bit of blood. The bleeding seemed to resolve right away and hasn't come back since. No lingering pain either. Took another cheapie hpt this morning and it was stronger than yesterday's positive. (I've been testing every morning to make sure my levels are going up). Is this common? I don't remember this happening with my first.

I'm currently having the same freak out. I'm 7 weeks and hadn't had sex at all since my BFP because I was afraid I would spot. We finally did this morning and now I have some pink when I wipe. I've googled the crap out of it and asked everyone I know who's been pregnant and everyone/everything I've read has said its normal. The cervix is tender and there is increased blood flow to the area so any irritation can cause minor bleeding/spotting. I'm holding on to that explanation because I'll go crazy otherwise. While bleeding is never normal (and should be mentioned to your doc), it's also not uncommon! your cervix becomes quite swollen and engorged with blood during pregnancy and, when bumped during sex, may bleed a big (or a lot).

this happened to me for the first time last week (at 38 weeks). when i went to my OB appointment, i started to mention that i had had some bleeding, & before i could even finish she asked "was it after intercourse?", so I'm assuming bleeding after sex while pregnant it pretty common. i wouldn't stress about it at all, but i would still just mention it to your OB anyways. it's always better to hear from them that everything is a-ok!.

Thanks ladies, I figured it was from being bumped but the amount of blood I saw is what freaked me out. I will definitely let my OB know just in case.

I'm currently 10w6d and had a range of colors and frequency spotting right up to about 8 1/2 weeks. I've had 2 OB Appts and 2 US's at this point and all is well. DH and I had intercourse a little over a week ago and when I wiped afterwards there was a lot of blood, more than I had seen at all thus far, but it went away by the end of that day and I didn't have any cramping to accompany it. Had intercourse again a few days ago and had no spotting at all afterwards, whereas I did after an internal US on Friday so it seems to be abating slowly as far as how often it occurs. As long as you aren't cramping or seeing any bright red blood, you could most likely be fine. Spotting is very scary but not always an omen of doom!

I am going in about an hour to get a blood draw, I'm super nervous..the nurse sounded so serious about this which makes me think maybe something actually isn't okay ): should have the results before 5.

Did the bleeding continue or did you have cramps? Good luck! Keep us posted.

I had really minor cramping the next day but only lasted a couple hours. Still waiting for the results. Time is going so slow.

Just got the results, my quant was at 6700+! Scheduled for an US tomorrow am
