TW: Bleeding

I didn't feel like this being lost in the symptoms thread because I'm having a pretty rough time right now. This is my second pregnancy - 1st ended in loss in October. I had some bleeding around 3:45 today. It seemed like a little more than spotting, but it's hard for me to determine what's normal spotting and what's not. I called my doctor and he said to come in Monday and Wednesday to check my HCG levels. Lots of women have bleeding and then go on to have healthy pregnancies, right? I know I could lose this and there's nothing I can do to stop it. I just need some support, I guess.

Edit: Everyone is so sweet for the thoughts. This is actually a zombie thread, and I'm doing okay now! The bleeding was from a subchorionic hematoma. I had a US and saw the heartbeat yesterday :) Hopefully things keep going in the right direction.

Sorry for your loss and sorry for this stress. My sister had bleeding with all 4 of her pregnancies and no losses. I don't know how much, but enough to go to the emergency room with her first.

Me on the other hand, I had no bleeding at all and a MMC.

Try to relax but know this, you could still have a successful pregnancy. Either way, you can't do anything to prevent or cause a miscarriage so stressing about it isn't going to help. Try to hand it over and keep faith in your body to do its job.

So sorry you are going through this, I'm still so early and have cramping which I didn't have last time... Needless to say, my trips to the bathroom are a little anxious. I'm repeating the poplar TB mantra of "today I am pregnant".

Prayers and thoughts for a sticky baby.

Edit: Try the pregnant after loss board or maybe even parenting after loss board for a bit more experience.

  • Thanks, @Pompomlove, I really appreciate the response. Things have been looking okay since this afternoon, so I'm just hoping that everything is fine.

And sorry, I probably should have posted this to the symptoms board instead of starting a new thread... crazy emotions getting the best of me.

  • I'm not bothered by the post at all just hoping for the best advice for you in a scary time!

so glad to hear the bleeding has stopped. That's great news!
  • I had bleeding with my pregnancies with both of my kids. It's really common even in viable pregnancies. I hope it turns out to be nothing serious for you.

  • @Pompomlove Im in such a similar situation with you! MMC in Sept no cramping last time, and this time Ive had some cramping past few days. There have been points im almost afraid to go pee. I just keep telling myself Im stretching to make lots of room!
  • @honeybeewebb2424, I'm trying to be rational about it and for the most part it's working... I never realized how scary pregnancy would be and how much my heart would explode with love for our unborn little ones.
  • I just wanted to let you know I had really bad bleeding 2 sat ago. So your not alone. It was so scary. I had an ultrasound that showed nothing. But my hcg doubled so I'm praying it was just early.  I really thought I had miscarried though.  Hope your doing well.  Have you gotten your hcg back yet.
  • I'm right there with you. My bleeding started yesterday and I have an ultrasound in an hour and a half. I keep reminding myself that half of the women who have bleeding in the first trimester go on to have healthy pregnancies.

I'm so sorry that you have to go through this.
  • Dealing with bleeding is extra hard and anxiety inducing when you've had a loss. I'm so sorry.... You're in my thoughts, and I'll be hoping for a good outcome.
  • Mine turned out to be because of a subchorionic hematoma, and the pregnancy is going well so far. I hope you ladies get good news, too.

  • I totally missed that this was a zombie thread! Pay attention River....pay attention....
  • Hello love, bleeding in pregnancy is totally normal. I miscarried in October and the blood was bright red, it wasn't brown old blood or pink spotting, it was bright red like you'd get if you fell over. Fingers crossed for you sweets x
  • @ss456 I'm not doing so great today. Had an early viability scam yesterday at 5+4 and we're measuring 5+2. We had what "possibly was the start of a yolk sac" but we're definitely in the grey zone. I'm feeling like I'm waiting to miscarry but am trying to stay calm and put some faith in to our little one to grow. I can't believe we might be here again. It's going to be a rough week.
  • @momousekee FX and let us know how your ultrasound looked!

(even though this is a zombie thread, I like seeing the updates from those of you that had bleeding and have since had good ultrasounds.)
  • Thanks for the update, so glad all is well!

  • @pompomlove FX for you. So sorry to hear you are in this weird limbo stage. I really hope that this week goes quickly for you and that you find some peace this week. Sending all my positive vibes for your little bean to grow, grow, grow!
  • @pompomlove, fingers crossed! It's still really really early, so things could still work out. Limbo sucks, though, and I'm sorry you find yourself there. You're in my thoughts.
  • Thinking of you. Can't imagine how you're feeling.
  • @pompomlove thinking about you and sending good wishes your way. We couldn't see my yolk sac at 5w and then saw it as 5-6.
  • Sorry @peachykeen17, No good news for me. HCG of 61 @ 6+1 meant not even an ultrasound.

Doc was optimistic about seeing me again in a couple of months.

I'm going to tell myself this improves the odds for the rest of you - best of luck.
  • @momousekee Oh no, I am so so sorry. :( Sending you so many hugs. Take care of yourself.
  • @momousekee I'm so so sorry!! :,(
  • @pompomlove fx all turns out well
@momousekee I'm sorry, take care of yourself

  • Sorry to hear this. Hope you're back in the game when you're ready.  @momousekee
  • I'm so sorry @momousekee
