Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant: Between getting up to pee 4x last night, my incredibly sore back, & restless legs...I barely got any sleep last night. So...damn...tired... Rave: It's Friday, the sun is shining, & I don't have to work! Symptoms: Heartburn, RLP, headaches, exhaustion, restless legs & a sore back...pregnancy is a BLAST!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? I want to hang some floating shelves in the nursery today.
Questions? I'm never going to sleep again, am I?!
GTKY: Favorite hobby? I really love cooking, but I've been slacking lately. Can I count shopping as a hobby? LOL
Thanks for starting today's thread @MamaNicoleof3! Great minds think alike
How far along are you? 25+6. Can't believe third trimester is right around the corner.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant: I LOVE being pregnant and growing this tiny human, but I'm ready to have my body back. Rave: It's Friday!! And the weather is supposed to be beautiful. Symptoms: Peeing all the time, RLP, crappy sleep, thirsty.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? We got the crib set up last night! H's brother brought us the missing part that we needed and it looks great! I also think it's going to be a nice sentimental touch that baby will be using the crib that H slept in when he was a baby (after checking that the crib is up to code and safe of course).
GTKY: Favorite hobby? Ohhh, this is tough. I feel like I have a lot of them. I would have to say a few of them are; - Fitness/nutrition/working out. I'm in the process of obtaining my personal training certification right now. - Gardening. I love growing our own food, making homemade salsa/other things, and it's relaxing. - Traveling & hiking. I love exploring new places.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant: Had to turn off the gas to the house (!) yesterday for our counter install so that our gas stove could be moved away from the wall since the stupid gas valve cap at the stove was broken. So, that meant no heat, no cooking, and no hot water until the plumber comes today to replace the valve, reconnect the stove, and hook up the new kitchen sink. It's 57F in my house right now, and I ain't showering until we have hot water again.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Putting furniture together. Buying paint for the nursery.
GTKY: Favorite hobby? Dance Reading DIY house stuff
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rave: I have decided that I'm going to get started on some of my DIY projects this weekend and I'm pretty excited about it! Symptoms: post-nasal drip will not go away, heartburn nearly every night, and the weight just keeps packing on, apparently not matter what I eat. Trying not to stress but I've already gained more than I was "supposed to" the whole pregnancy and I have 14 weeks to go. Grr.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? This weekend, refinishing the armoire/wardrobe, picking up a bookshelf, making the ruler growth chart, framing prints. I can't actually do anything in baby's room but I guess I can get a move on with the decor. Oh! Maybe starting on the crib mobile, too.
Questions? I think I may have asked this before, but didn't get any input. Dreft. Is it necessary or any dye/scent free will do?
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Shopping next week for baby stuff with mom, sister, MIL.
Questions? None at the moment
GTKY: Favorite hobby? Trick question, I have a lot of hobbies I enjoy. I haven't really been doing any of them since I got pregnant but. I love to participate in our community theatre musicals when they do a really good one during the summer. My husband and I are WWII reenactors and go to living history events and portray a soldier and a nurse during that era. It's a lot of fun. We both love to swing dance and that's been something I'd love to improve even more. I love watching musicals. I love to read. Lol I have way too many interests!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: I feel off today. Slight stomach problem, light headed, tired. I just want to go home and nap. Rant: I have to go to a baby shower tomorrow that I really don't want to go to. And I have nothing to wear because all of my clothes are either for work or too casual. I'm hoping to squeeze into a sweater dress that I have (is 45 degrees too warm for a sweater dress?), but if it doesn't fit, I'm out of ideas. Rave: My boss is in an all-day meeting, so I can do nothing all day and nobody will notice!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? House hunting and trying not to eat all of the food in our house (unsuccessfully).
GTKY: Favorite hobby? Does reading count? I don't really have hobbies... I'm lame.
How far along are you? 24 weeks! So happy for V day!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Very out of character for me, but I woke up in a great mood, so no rants... yet! Rave:Free tacos for lunch today! Is it lunch time yet? Symptoms: Achy, RLP, congestion, and baby kicks like she's trying to break out. Seriously, this is starting to hurt!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Procrastinating
@crdo ack! I hope your hot water is back fast! @dennyandlee scent/dye free is fine. Dreft definitely not necessary. We used All Free last time around, likely will this time, too. @KBallew10 reading totally counts!
How far along are you? 24w6d
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Slept pretty well, though woke with a headache. Rant: the cat has decided he wants nothing to do with me (which is a complete 180!!) at all.......until 3am. He gets up in my face and tries to lick me constantly. WTF? And he is very tenacious about it.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? circling around starting the quilt. Also working on several house projects to clear the way for baby stuff.
GTKY: Favorite hobby? Reading! I enjoy doing the yearly reading challenges with my BFF. Also, DIY stuff of any kind.
June 2016 April Siggy Challenge: Reasons my kid is crying
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant - I just want to sleeeeep. ETA: H's company finally switched over at work and yesterday was SUPPOSED to be his first pay check from them except they didn't pay him. They didn't pay anyone and so far their only communication has been "well we don't know what happened. We'll look into it." I just checked our account and still nothing. Super fucking annoying. I mean we have credit cards that can cover our expenses in the meantime but what if we didn't!? Rave - I am just so happy it's Friday.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? My mom bought us a mini crib yesterday so I'm excited to get that put together this weekend. Had my glucose test yesterday, so just waiting on those results.
GTKY: Favorite hobby? I write poetry. I also like journaling. I slack off on both during the school year though because I'm doing so much other writing, as is.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rave: I slept really well last night with no weird dreams that I can remember. I did not want to wake up when my alarm went off at 6 this morning, but tomorrow is Saturday!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Going to try to pick out a paint color for the nursery this weekend. We're not doing anything too crazy in terms of paint, just something fairly neutral that will warm up the room a bit.
GTKY: Favorite hobby? Probably running and/or cooking. Sometimes cooking feels more like a chore than a hobby, but I really enjoy it when I can cook a favorite meal or try something new. Before being pregnant, having a glass of wine while making a good meal was one of my favorite ways to spend an evening!
@deepaddy24 - Nah, you'll sleep again one day. It may be a day a while from now but it will happen. Sorry you've been feeling crappy.
@dennyandlee - What color/how are you refinishing the wardrobe?
@crdo - I hope your gas gets turned back on today! It is cold where I live so no way I could have the heat off....where are you again (location wise)?
@mrscchmity - I'm ready to have my body back as well too...I'm sore, tired, can't move properly and feel just "weird" for lack of a better word most of the time.
@Kballew10 - I think you could pull of a sweater dress in 45 degrees.
How far along are you? 26 w, 2 d
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rave/Wierd: I saw baby girl kick yesterday...my stomach legit moved an inch and I'm pretty certain I saw the limb that did it. She is getting STRONG.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Bathroom remodel...it is the song that never ends...yes it goes on and on my friends...
GTKY: Favorite hobby? Working out (I love spin) and cooking. And, when not KU, duh...
Good morning @mrsschmity I was hoping you were managing to sleep in today .
How far along are you? 23w6d. Viability Day tomorrow. I still have to wonder how viable they really are at V-Day (I know I should just focus on the positive) but it's an exciting milestone for sure.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant: Just feeling gross in my belly--- nothing new, just really annoying as I have a lot on my plate today and it seems overwhelming when I can't think beyond my nausea. Rave: My colleagues and I are going out after work. I used to work with an amazing team and we'd hit the pub every Friday. Then, after my last mat leave, I returned to a crazy year where I was treated like the "big bad boss" and the staff were all socially inept (that's an overstatement- but it sure seemed like it some days). Now, we're back to being a strong team, I feel like a respected and appreciated leader again, and it's back to the pub we go . Also, having a birthday lunch with my aunt on the weekend.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Actually committed to the stroller. My cousin gave me a good deal (by no means a freebie but I'll take what I can get) and my daughter is psyched to have a purple stroller.
Questions? Damn, I had one... and now it's lost to baby brain. I may be back
GTKY: Favorite hobby? Shamefully, maybe I need a hobby. I like working out, I like yoga, I cook frequently but it's not a real passion for me... I journal every night if that counts (since Grade 9!). I am passionate about musical theatre but listening to and attending shows isn't exactly a hobby. Oh well, my life seems full enough without taking on something new. When I do take new things on, they tend to be career-related projects that either relate to my admin role or my former life as a Drama teacher (I write study materials for local theatres etc.). Shoot- did not mean to write a novel here.
@mkemommy: I'm in GA, so while it's uncomfortably cold in the house and I slept under an electric blanket, it's not unbearably cold or anything. It was in the upper 30s last night, so not freezing technically. That being said, I WANT SPRING NOW.
Whoa, your LO us certainly getting strong! What's next on the bathroom remodel?
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant: I f*cking hate metro! They literally cannot get their sh*t together for even ONE day! BLARGH! And driving and paying for parking in DC is not a good alternative since I get subsidized to take this awful excuse for public transit. Rave: TGIF, even if metro made me 40 min late to work... Symptoms: More rib/back pain after meals, nose congestion. Is feeling huge a symptom?
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Cleaning out nursery this weekend and *hopefully* DH will pull up the carpet. He's been sick for a few days though and may not be up to it. Finishing baby shower invite list.
Questions: Am I the only one getting back pain after eating meals? The doctor didn't seem concerned and just told me to eat smaller meals but I'm also getting a pinching feeling under my left rib that I *think* is my stomach being smushed since it seems to happen about 30min-1hr after I eat a meal and then lingers for a few hours (depending on how much I eat). I'm going to bring it up again at my next OB appt next week, but it seems to be happening more often. It's not excruciating, but it's very uncomfortable at times.
GTKY: Favorite hobby? Birdwatching, hands down. But also reading, baking, WoW, and lovingly staring at my dog.
Me - 33, DH - 33 Married - May 2014 DH - Low Count/Motility/Morph - Varicocele vein x 2 - surgery (8/11) - success! BFP - 10/10/15, EDD - 6/20/16 - It's a BOY! @mrsschmity Very cute that
the baby will be in H’s crib!
@crdo Stay warm until the
plumber gets there. Hopefully it will be
early in the day!
@dennyandlee Sounds like a
fun weekend of things to get ready for baby.
Enjoy the crafting!
@kballew10 Good luck with house
hunting we are in the process of starting that right now, and it can be
stressful when pregnant and thinking about when I want to move vs when we need to move. And I think reading totally counts as a
hobby!
@mkemommy Now I have the
song that never ends running through my head on a loop!
How far along are you? 25 weeks!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms:Rave: I usually get up with
our dogs because I work from home and don’t have to get up and drive to work,
but it’s my birthday so H did everything around the house this morning and I got
to sleep in. It was glorious! And it’s
Friday!! Symptoms: Seasonal allergies – not really a pregnancy symptom, but
since I can’t take the meds I usually do, they feel so much more awful.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Finished our registry and let my mom and
sister know it was done.
Questions?
GTKY: Favorite
hobby? Reading or traveling and exploring new places
@dennyandlee I think we're just going to use the All Free. My mom recently went to an allergist and he said that's the only detergent that gets rids of 99% of microbes and allergens even in cold water (or something like that). But I did hear Dreft stain remover is amazing so I'm gonna get that!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant: this weekend is supposed to be gloriously beautiful and I have to be available anytime for system testing, which means schlepping my laptop everywhere. Rave: H let me get out of grocery shopping last night, so I took a little catnap on the couch while waiting for him to come home. Symptoms: had a crazy nightmare someone was trying to take my baby from me! That stuff can stop right now!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Little stuff while waiting for the showers. Cleaning out cabinets, donating excess stuff, you know.
Questions?
GTKY: Favorite hobby? I LOVE to paint and take pictures. I got a fantastic point-and-shoot for Christmas two years ago and it's developed into an addiction. Going to AW myself this morning with one of my favorites.
@crdo I’m sorry about your gas being off!! No heat and no
hot water in the middle of winter would be ROUGH, even if it is only for a day
@kbequette08 I wish I could get my husband to swing dance
@ahernandez16 Sorry about you H’s paycheck! That happened
once at my old company and all the employees practically mutinied (is that a
word?)
@dennyandlee I just used Tide free and gentle for detergent
assuming that’s what you’re talking about. I was told that was fine
@MrsAlliKat We’re birthday twins!!! Happy birthday to you!
How far along are you? 26w4d
Rant/Rave/Symptoms:Rave: It's my birthday! So the one day of the year I get to revert to only child syndrome and pretend the world is all about me. Rant: My dad sent me a happy bday email this morning and in it said "I don't know what pregnant women can do to celebrate, but..." Not really a rant, because the email was sweet, but come on dad, i'm pregnant, not dead.Symptoms: My back feels better this morning, so yay! I'm just sniffly and sleepy
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Old mattress from the nursery-to-be is getting picked up today and the rest of the furniture is being donated on Tuesday. I will be painting in no time!
GTKY: Baking and photography are probably the two biggest.

I'm pretty lucky we love that era so much. My husband has rhythm and I literally love swing dancing with him. Our wedding was 1940s themed and that's what we did for our first dance. Its easier than most people think!
@mrsallikat Happy Birthday! @bakerbird525 I hear you on the metro. @unsuckdcmetro is an awesome Twitter feed with sometimes useful information what to avoid.
How far along are you? 25 weeks today
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Could not sleep tonight for no good reason. So here I am super tired at 10 o'clock in the morning. Friday makes it all better. My womanly parts sort of hurt. It's this weird dull pain. Oh, well...
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Hopefully building a dresser and a crib this weekend. Then I can start to organize the room and wash tiny clothes. Excited for that!
Questions?
GTKY: Favorite hobby? My job happens to be my hobby and it involves a lot of reading and researching. I love it for the most part.
@MrsAlliKat Today is the best day of the year for a birthday!! Happy Birthday!
How far along are you? 23+4
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant & Rave....Today's my birthday....I'm 30...not sure how I feel about that yet haha. So glad it's Friday tho!!!!! Still fighting this sinus infection which is moving to my chest and really congesting it, blah.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Eating....gestating.
@MrsAlliKatHappy Birthday!! @Diesel615 Happy 30th! That's a big one (as if you didn't know). I've loved my 30s so far . @crdo I looove electric blankets, and heating pads... I love heat. Enjoy.
Re: Friday Check-In
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Back pain, tired
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Maybe working on baby books today

@kballew10 : Reading definitely counts and 45 degrees is not too warm for a sweater dress! Wear it!

@DeePaddy24 Enjoy your day off!
@mrsschmity Very cute that the baby will be in H’s crib!
@crdo Stay warm until the plumber gets there. Hopefully it will be early in the day!
@dennyandlee Sounds like a fun weekend of things to get ready for baby. Enjoy the crafting!
@kballew10 Good luck with house hunting we are in the process of starting that right now, and it can be stressful when pregnant and thinking about when I want to move vs when we need to move. And I think reading totally counts as a hobby!
@mommarich Yum, tacos!
@mkemommy Now I have the song that never ends running through my head on a loop!
How far along are you? 25 weeks!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rave: I usually get up with our dogs because I work from home and don’t have to get up and drive to work, but it’s my birthday so H did everything around the house this morning and I got to sleep in. It was glorious! And it’s Friday!! Symptoms: Seasonal allergies – not really a pregnancy symptom, but since I can’t take the meds I usually do, they feel so much more awful.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Finished our registry and let my mom and sister know it was done.

GTKY: Favorite hobby? Reading or traveling and exploring new places

Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant: I'll be MIA all weekend because I have my comp final written exam for grad school (30 page paper aka torture)
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Growing and starting house hunting
Questions? None
GTKY: Favorite hobby? Umm I'm a pretty lame person. I guess reading even though I haven't been able to in like 6 years because of school

GTKY: Favorite hobby? I LOVE to paint and take pictures. I got a fantastic point-and-shoot for Christmas two years ago and it's developed into an addiction. Going to AW myself this morning with one of my favorites.

Thanks
@crdo I’m sorry about your gas being off!! No heat and no hot water in the middle of winter would be ROUGH, even if it is only for a day
@kbequette08 I wish I could get my husband to swing dance
@ahernandez16 Sorry about you H’s paycheck! That happened once at my old company and all the employees practically mutinied (is that a word?)
@dennyandlee I just used Tide free and gentle for detergent assuming that’s what you’re talking about. I was told that was fine
@MrsAlliKat We’re birthday twins!!! Happy birthday to you!

Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rave: It's my birthday! So the one day of the year I get to revert to only child syndrome and pretend the world is all about me. Rant: My dad sent me a happy bday email this morning and in it said "I don't know what pregnant women can do to celebrate, but..." Not really a rant, because the email was sweet, but come on dad, i'm pregnant, not dead. Symptoms: My back feels better this morning, so yay! I'm just sniffly and sleepy
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Old mattress from the nursery-to-be is getting picked up today and the rest of the furniture is being donated on Tuesday. I will be painting in no time!
GTKY: Baking and photography are probably the two biggest.

GTKY: Favorite hobby? My job happens to be my hobby and it involves a lot of reading and researching. I love it for the most part.
