  • How have your workouts been?  What have you been doing? I try to workout 4 days a week, about 30 minutes at a time. I have really scaled back and do mainly pilates, yoga, some light weights and light cardio.  Once it gets warm enough to walk outside I'll add that in. 

    Small or large victories? I don't know if this is a victory or not.  I just recently gained my first 2 lbs at 15 weeks. I was hovering on the same weight the whole first trimester (not from working out, from not wanting to eat I think)!

    Changes? See above. 

    Questions? Any mom's that have given birth and consistently done yoga/pilates, do you think it helped you??

    GTKY:  If you could have awesome abs, legs, or arms (not all 3) which would you pick and why? Abs for sure. I've never had them!

  • How have your workouts been?  What have you been doing? 
    I have been running at least 3 times per week, increasing my distance weekly.  We signed up to do a 10k in April, so I'm really excited about that.  I need to write a training schedule though...

    Small or large victories?
    I've eaten almost a whole pound of spinach myself (salads, smoothies, etc.) the past 2 weeks! Now, if I could just get some other veggies in there too...

    Changes?
    Not yet.  More energy maybe? IDK what well rested/energetic truly feels like anymore!

    Questions?
    Do any of you monitor heart rate? Or do you do the talk test? or don't care...

    Arms. They are on display the most.

  • @texasmama2014 I don't monitor my heart rate. I have a fitbit, but I didn't buy the HR one and I kind of wish I would have.  I just stop when I know I've exerted myself or feel like I need a break.  I do the talk test, if I can't talk I stop and pause for a while. Also if I get lightheaded!

  • How have your workouts been?  What have you been doing? Workouts have been great! Since entering the 2nd trimester I am no longer nauseous all day long and I get excited to workout. Before it really felt like a chore since I felt sick all the time. I have continued to go to my Barre classes 3-4 times a week for 60 mins.

    Small or large victories? Only gaining 3 lbs in my first trimester! When I was pregnant with my DD, I think I had gained 7. So I was super happy and surprised since I have been craving carbs and sweets like crazy.

    Changes? My belly is starting to protrude more and my workout leggings are beginning to feel a tad uncomfortable.

    Questions? Nope

    GTKY:  If you could have awesome abs, legs, or arms (not all 3) which would you pick and why? I think I would choose abs, I have never had "awesome" abs and has always been a trouble zone for me.

  • @tmk0325 I did some very gentle yoga, only in the 3rd trimester, I think it helped a little. I definitely wish I would have done more... And with that said, I should probably start doing more yoga...

  • How have your workouts been?  What have you been doing? I'm still staying active, but I feel like my intensity has taken a step back. I've been enjoying pilates classes still and am running a few times a week. 

    Small or large victories? Still wearing normal clothes, but I'm only 15 weeks. 

    Changes? My whole torso just seems larger. I swear my rib cage has expanded. Tunics are my friend.

    GTKY:  If you could have awesome abs, legs, or arms (not all 3) which would you pick and why? This is a tough one. I'm going to go with abs just because I'm hoping that would roll into not having love handles and actually having a waist line.  My stomach has always been pretty flat, but my obliques and lower back need some serious help.

  • How have your workouts been?  What have you been doing?
    I finally got back to consistent workouts this week!  I have a trainer friend that I hired after my first and she has tailored the workouts for me (after two months of absolutely nothing from non-stop nausea and exhaustion, which made the nausea worse).  Mostly some weight moves with intervals of walking and some plank moves for abs.  It's getting warmer and lighter out later after work so more outside walking will happen.  Who knows, I might get brave and try running again, I was doing so well pre-pregnancy! Oh, and prenatal yoga a couple times a week.

    Small or large victories? Large victory in being able to workout again finally.

    Changes? Too early to say.  I'm gaining weight the same as I did with my first (6-7 lbs until second tri and then only one between 12-16 weeks) but will see what happens next month.

  • @Texasmomma13 my coach does the "talk test" on me. Once or twice a workout, he'll just ask me a random question that I can't answer with a yes or no, just to make sure. To be totally honest I don't always stay in the "conversational pace" zone, but I never push myself for too long. I do check my heartrate when I take my walk breaks on a treadmill but I don't stick to the 140 bpm limitation I've seen before. 

    How have your workouts been?  What have you been doing? Still sticking to my regular -- volleyball twice a week, CrossFit three times, running once or twice. 

    Small or large victories? I've started modifying my CrossFit workouts but I'm still impressed with how good I'm doing. Hopefully I can keep it up! I have a 10K tomorrow and hopefully that goes well too. 

    Changes? I've gained 7-9 lbs (7 lbs according to my home scale, 9 according to doctor's) and I'm surprised how hard I'm taking it. I'm still fitting in to most of my prepregnancy clothes and I'm barely showing, so I think I just feel like there's no reason I should be losing weight.

  • How have your workouts been?  What have you been doing? I workout with a trainer 2 days a week and the other 2 days I do Body Pump. 

    Small or large victories? I am at 16 weeks and have only gained 2 pounds!

    Changes? None. Its getting harder for me to workout. I get tired easier and just don't feel like myself.

    GTKY:  If you could have awesome abs, legs, or arms (not all 3) which would you pick and why? Legs. I have ALWAYS hated how my legs look.

  • How have your workouts been?  What have you been doing? Sporadic and pretty weak. I finally got back into running, but I also have been using pilates and yoga. I have been shying away from running cause I noticed my asthma has been getting worse recently.

    Small or large victories?
    I ran three miles last night! No asthma attacks!

    Changes? My workout spandex keep sliding below my belly now... it is REALLY annoying. 

    GTKY:  If you could have awesome abs, legs, or arms (not all 3) which would you pick and why? Probably abs because I have never had nice abs in my entire life.
