Hey all, sorry I've been MIA for almost a week but it's been a rough one. At 24 weeks, we found out that our girl had an arrhythmia. She was diagnosed with Premature Atrial Contractions (PAC). We were instructed to follow up weekly with a MFM and monitor her but no further follow up. At 27 weeks, we went in for our weekly appointment and she was no longer having PAC's. Her heart beat was 280bpm. And while they were scanning her, her heart stopped for 30 seconds. We literally ran to triage and was being prepped for an emergency c-section. They found her heartbeat, thankfully, and did not perform the c-section. We were told after the fact that we were 2 minutes (max) away from having our daughter. By far the scariest moment of our lives. Now, we are at our 3rd hospital, which is also attached to a Children's Hospital so we are trying to figure out which medication(s) will work to bring our girls' heartbeat down. We were originally placed on Digoxin but that alone did not work so we are now taking that plus Flecainide. They said it could take 24-48 hours for the meds to begin to work and then another few days for her to regulate. They said to expect to be here for another couple of weeks. Which is really depressing. I'm starting to have anxiety about being here but luckily, my husband (and our families) are amazing. He hasn't left my side.
I hadn't really updated you ladies on the PAC because at the time, it wasn't that big of a deal. But now...well it is. From what research I can find, this is extremely rare and somewhat isolating because not many people have had it in utero. I've actually found some people on another forum where this has been discussed more but not much has been here on TB.
All thoughts and prayers are extremely welcome right now. We just want her to get better and to go home. Hopefully I can get back into posting but I really wasn't feeling it for the past week.
Re: Fetal SVT
You talk about PAC's in your post, but your title says SVT. Do you mean supra ventricular tachycardia? I actually have that myself, so if you have any questions, just let me know. I don't know the difference between SVT and PAC.

Gosh how scary! Hopefully you have some peace of mind at this hospital. I believe we're in the same city; I always like seeing your Jayhawk profile pic.
