netsirk2013 Let me be more specific - it's not simply the candidate they vote for - it's why. For example - vocal support for Donald Trump because he will build a wall and "keep out the Mexicans". (I live in Texas). I don't want or need "friends" who feel like this. Unfortunately people hide their crazy pretty well sometimes...
@COmama87 I'm not sure if this counts as a UO but you post a lot and I have discovered that I have to hide your siggy on every page you post on. The beginning is okay but after that it looks like the view from someone throwing up lucky charms and it makes me sick EVERY TIME. I try to be on the look out for it but sometimes it sneaks up on me.
@VeraMali I regret my siggy bc it makes me want to eat Lucky Charms all day. Never thought of it the other way..hope I don't start seeing it that way lol

This. While I haven't removed anyone yet, it's not the politics of who they are voting for that makes me want to not be friends with people, it's the reasons why they support them that does. This has not happened in any previous elections because prior to this, I always felt it was mostly about the policy. For example, it's one thing for me to respect someone who doesn't agree with the ACA, even though our opinions may differ because it's all policy related. But Trump is all about hate and the people that support him are just outing themselves as hateful bigots and no one needs that in their lives.
@COmama87 it could just be me. I've found that not only is my nausea triggered by smells but it is very visual. All of a sudden things I never even noticed before just catching a glance of will make me gag.

I've definitely been there! Hope your nausea eases up on you soon!
I don't understand why people delete friends for their political beliefs. Most of my friends are Hilary or Bernie supporters. They post anti trump stuff all the time. I'm not one to post anti anyone posts but I don't delete them for their beliefs. Just like they don't delete me for my, as they put it, idiotic beliefs. It just seems childish to me. Oh you don't believe in the same thing as me? Well we can't be Internet friends! *giggle*
I judge anyone who is a Trump supporter. No offense to you SamiiWaters, you are absolutely entitled to your opinion, but yes - I judge this. I understand that a person is not simply their political beliefs, but this one I cannot forgive.
I will say - it's been a great for cleaning up my Facebook friends. I've deleted many ardent, vocal Trump supporters.
My UO is this - I'm a massive Taco Bell fan. I always LOL when people talk about how much they hate it or how gross it is because ladies - I LOVE it. There was one across the street from my elementary school and they took us there for lunch for perfect attendance (I would love to tell this to Jamie Oliver). That cemented my love for life.
Well said. Everyone has a right to their own beliefs but that doesn't also mean you won't be judged. I have a coworker who is a Trump supporter and I have to bite my tongue.
Also I used to feel this way about taco bell once to but lately not so much but I do LOOOVEEEE mcdonalds! Anyone can hate all they want but give me a big mac on a bad day and everything will be better!

@SamiiWaters She wasn't explicitly saying that she would delete someone because of their political beliefs, but rather when their political beliefs unmask something else inside them. For example, someone posts an article about Trump's border wall and the post is riddled with racial slurs about Mexicans. In that instance, you aren't deleting them because of a political belief, you are deleting them because they are a racist @sshole.
I'm pretty sure I have many UO's, but I am so uncontroversial that I normally just keep my mouth shut. Pretty sad I probably won't be voting this year . I'm not going to "vote for the lesser of two evils" , which is what I think my family believes they are doing. Last election I voted Ron Paul and you see how far that got me. I'll just stay at work. ugh.

Voting for a third party candidate is still worth the vote.
I think this election will finally see a legitimate third party candidate. Once Trump wins the republican nomination, the GOP will throw a lot of money at one.
My UO is I think political races are nothing but who can trash the other person into dropping out and nothing about what they are willing to do for the country and its citizens. I'm a republican (judge if you want) and I honestly don't really know who I'm voting for at this point because the entire GOP has been solely about Trump and his antics and nothing about what the candadites plan to do in order to take the country forward. Im not deleting friends on Facebook because their political views or life views differ from mine. If there is one thing I've learned since being an adult is that everyone was raised differently, has their own beliefs but doesn't mean you can't be friends with them. You have something in common with that person outside of political views. I agree that some people are prejudice against many things (some being my own family) but that doesn't necessarily carry over to those around them. Support whatever candadite you feel can get the job done for your reasons, not the reasons of others.

I am a Taco Bell whore and I absolutely adore Jamie Oliver.
I feel like maybe I need to change my little avatar/icon now after reading the opinions about ultrasounds, lol.
Here's my UO: I think it's silly to post pictures of your "bump" before it's really, you know... a bump. I'm apple shaped, so I won't actually be showing for a while, because my stomach is always hideously round. Maybe I'm a little jealous.
@jln27 I think it's amazing to progressively watch bellies morph into huge pregnant bumps! I personally have been posting every other week as I don't feel there's much difference in 7 days, and it's crazy when I log on and see all of the mommas showing off their beautiful pregnant bodies. Very exciting!!
@AnnaS930 John Oliver or Jamie Oliver? I was talking about Jamie Oliver, the chef, but he's also sexy and full of wit with an incredible accent. I think you could also call what he does in the kitchen witchcraft. I love to watch his cooking videos. He started a campaign on healthy eating and kids eating better in schools too, which is awesome.
@TheTamedShrewHA! wow, I better slow my reading down a bit. I was talking about John Oliver - but I DO love me some Jamie Oliver - never before him have I considered a lisp to be a good thing
@TheTamedShrew I've had a crush on Jamie Oliver since his Food Revolution show!
@pinklady2015 I laughed so hard at your comment. I read it to my DH and showed your GIF and had tears welling up from laughing so hard. I love that you have a sense of humor.

My UO this week is maybe a bit touchy for the American bumpies. I am getting sick of this whole "if Trump gets elected, I'm moving to Canada". Maybe I'm the one who's overly sensitive but that statement just screams entitlement to me. And before anyone tells me it's a joke for most people, a friend of mine who's a realtor said her office has been flooded with calls from Americans wanting to talk real estate options in case Trump gets elected.
And also I hate mint and chocolate together. Just no. I also hate peanut butter.
@yellowrose314 as an American, I'm not offended by your UO. I've never made the comment that I'm moving to Canada if Trump gets elected, but I can understand why people would. He's seriously scary. The idea of him being in charge of our country is absolutely terrifying. I've yet to really believe that could happen because I have to think our society is smarter than that, but we shall see. I wouldn't see it as a statement of entitlement, though. Seeing as it is so close to our country, it would be the easiest to move to if people are looking to leave. You don't need a visa right away, and as long as you have a passport you can get in. Plus, you guys get a year of ML. There are totally perks But from my understanding it is also insanely expensive (at least, anytime I watch a house hunters type show that takes place there) so I think in reality you might not get as many people as they would hope.
@yellowrose314Not offended at all. I'm more offended by my fellow countrymen who have voted or financed this debacle of an election to have allowed Trump to get this far. That being said, I AM one of the people who would gladly move to Canada if Trump was ever elected, especially after reading up on your PM. Now why can't we have a politician like that running for President!?
I think what @yellowrose314 means is that the people who make these comments seriously don't stop to think that maybe they can't move to Canada, it is not that easy to immigrate to Canada and somehow a lot of people who make that comment (being serious) just assume they will be able to with no problems.
One example: My sister in law (husband's sister) married her husband 10 years ago, he was born in Ecuador but has been living in Canada ever since and he still does not have Canadian citizenship, and it is not because he is not trying it just takes a really long time.
Now I know there is a difference between just being a resident in a country and being a citizen, but even if your american passport allows you to come freely to Canada you can only stay for up to 180 days (6 months) in a single calendar year and after that you need to apply for a visa, and that is still just a tourist visa it does not allow you to work. A work visa is even more complicated.
It does annoy me too when people make these comments, not because I don't want Americans to move to Canada but because it's more complicated then they think or they just don't seem to think it applies to them.

Ugh...I've seen this comment on Facebook a few times and think it is Pretty stupid. It seems to me that anti-Trump people (the ones commenting about moving to Canada) are pro-immigration and Trump supporters are much more anti-immigration.
I don't know, I didn't quite see the point until that comment from Biculturalist and I get where it looks like entitlement. I think that people saying they are moving to Canada is just ridiculous - like you don't get your way so you're just going to run away. Why don't we stay, and work on electing better State representatives and Congress and other avenues that also make huge decisions. I mean I live in Maine - so I pretty much DO live in Canada and I'm not trying to hop the border.

I thought that, too, but I think it still makes a point about entitlement. I also don't think you can lump anti-Trump people into one category. Even many traditionally conservative (that may or may not support immigration) people have a dislike of him.
