My UO is that they need to stop with all the flavored Oreos already. If I wanted a "filled cupcake," I'd eat one, not an Oreo masquerading as one. And I think this rule should extend to most other foodstuff items that are flavored to taste like an entirely different food: for example, why is there a Peep-flavored milk on the market? Gross!
Yes! I needed Oreos for my sons bday cake and couldn't find the original kind bc of all the other flavors in the way.
Thinking about my student loans makes me cringe. I went to a pretty expensive school and changed my major 3/4 of the way through my degree. So I've got like 80k in debt. As much as I hate what free education would do to our spending deficit and tax system, I feel like there's a lot of people who really would benefit from that and loan forgiveness and other educational benefits.
I think nicknames are stupid. I have a girl I'm FB friends who named her daughter Addison, and since she was born it's been Addie, and she corrects people who say 'oh Addison is so cute!' she'll respond 'it's Addie'. No, her name is Addison, if you wanted to call her Addie for life name her Addie.
My MIL is annoyed that we don't have a nickname picked for our son- Seth. Umm, get over it. We'll call him by his name
Nick names are fine IMO, but I prefer earned nick names, or ones that they've chosen. I call my boys by their full name. If Jackson decides he wants to go by Jack or Jay when he's older, ok but until then he's Jackson. Garrett doesn't really have a good nick name, so we shall see what he ends up being called.
How about "Gare Bear?" KIDDING ONLY KIDDING!
My poor baby! But it's really funny I've never heard that one!
I was a drive-by yesterday! But I love how political we got...I also really like that I'm not the only one who thinks college should not be free. My brother got "free" college (my parents covered everything, I worked two jobs to pay for mine) and did exactly what you'd expect. Dropped classes, didn't pass others, took him like 8 years to graduate and not because he was juggling jobs or being responsible. I agree the current system sucks but it free is not acceptable. No.
And cultivated too. @ahernandez16 writing is an awesome and super transferable skill. My more general point was that a fact of life is that some degrees are more marketable than others (aka not all degrees are created equal). It's a matter of being practical. Yes, we need artists and all that but perhaps not as many as doctors. Additionally, people value different things and some will value pleasure derived from less practicable degrees more than money. Still worthwhile to think about these things.
I couldn't think of this yesterday and just remembered, so forgive me for posting on a Friday!
Gender neutral clothing just means you're dressing everyone up like boys.
There. I said it.
YES.
Haha, this cracked me up.
We're team green, so the clothes we have purchased so far are "gender neutral"--green, yellow, gray, white, etc., free of frills or pink. Now that I think about it, most of the "neutral" stuff we bought at a consignment store was from the boy section! Seems you've got a point there, lady.
We have a loose concept of sex neutral clothes. I think girls can be dressed in blue and boys look good in a dark purple. I am avoiding anything that is obviously aimed towards a specific sex ("daddy's slugger" or "princess in training") but dinosaurs, animals, automobiles, puppies, etc if I like it I'm buying it. We have definitely strayed from frills or pink (which I don't like any way) but just got a ton of hand me downs from my brothers son and picked through to get the ones that could easily go girl or boy. If it is soft and cute, I'm getting it!
