I liked the show overall, but I thought it was suuuuuper lame that the whole thing ended up basically being Fight Club without with fistfights.

I like weird spellings of names. I know it's illogical but for some reason, I've always liked weird spellings! For pretty much my entire life, I wanted a girl and I wanted to name her Riley, but spell it Ryleigh. Those hopes were dashed when my SIL got herself knocked up in high school and named her child Rylee  

DH and I both love the name Brynn. I know the additional "n" is not necessary, but I like it! We also agree that if we have a redheaded little girl, the name will be Scarlette, extra "e" and all! 

Edited cuz spelling (ironic).

@rebeccuh I agree the babymoon name is a bit silly, but I like the concept and an excuse for a little getaway.


And mine is that I like wallpaper.

 I didn't know this WAS an unpopular opinion until I started planning my bathroom renovation and told people I was planning on keeping the vintage 1940's wallpaper (but gutting everything else).  The response was...not great.  Oh well! Still love it, still keeping it.

Camping is the worst form of "vacationing." I don't get it at all. What's enjoyable about sleeping on the ground, having limited (if any) access to bathrooms/showers, being eaten alive by mosquitos and inhaling campfire smoke for the length of your stay?

Give me a nice hotel with a fluffy bed and room service any day.

@housewifehobbyist I agree. The concept is totally fine. The name is terrible.

I also love a good wallpaper. There's a 99.9% chance our baby's room will have at least one wall papered.

I adore my yoga pants for the weekend, but unless you work in a yoga studio or other fitness center (or work from home), I don't think yoga pants are work-appropriate.

I actually really like camping. I also really like nice hotels. I think I just like not being at work for a little bit and doing something out of my normal routine. 
But yeah. Our little storage closet in our tiny apartment is dedicated to camping gear.

I actually really like camping. I also really like nice hotels. I think I just like not being at work for a little bit and doing something out of my normal routine.

I love camping with the kids. We don't sleep on the ground tho. 

I also love hotels. But my UO is that when I'm on vacation, I don't want to do anything. I went up to Northern MI for my honeymoon and sat around in my hotel suite, ate good food, swam, and lounged in the suite's spa tub. When people ask us what we did and what places we visited, they give us these judging looks when we say nothing.

My stepsons mother took him up north the next summer and they spent everyday doing something: site seeing, bike riding, water park, tours. They were exhausted when they got home. That does not sound like fun to me. Lol

 @kmalls My idea of "camping" is the Holiday Inn. I've ruined myself with nice hotels. But good deals are out there if you look and plan carefully. Our high-end hotel for our honeymoon in Montreal was stupidly cheap even though we were there in June.

Now I want to go on vacation so bad..
camping has a huge place in my heart (former camp counselor) but nothing beats a big beach house! 

My UO is while I like Adele as a person and enjoy her first CD, these past two songs that they play on the radio
nonstop make me want to rip my hair out. I don't like Hello. Or When we were young. UGH.

SAME. I do stuff every day. Vacation to me is to sit on my ass and enjoy a cold drink (this year it will be lemonade).

@dam0ne4 : While I do not find him attractive, I do like some of the Beib's music. He's got that whole Taylor Swift thing going on where the songs are so catchy, you can't help but sing along... then you actually start to like them.

These have made my day!  I'm not totally there on the Star Wars thing, @MRSCORKER, but the way my husband and son react to my indifference, you'd think it was the most egregious sin...

My UO is that I hate when people appropriate St. Patrick's Day/Irish culture/Irish names/etc.  There's celebrating it, and then there's pretending you have some deep connection with a culture you really don't know anything about.  Also?  If you have to look up pronunciations for Irish names, there's your sign you probably shouldn't go there.  In the baby class I took with my daughter, I was talking to a woman who named her son Caoimhe, (which she pronounced Kav- uh) because "it was the Gaelic version of Kevin!"  Um, it's Kwee-va, and it's a girl's name.

It IS a sin! Lol. Honestly I think it's one of those things that you have to get into when you're a kid with friends and/or family. My family are all HUGE Star Wars fans (not in a geeky way, they just really enjoy the movies). I take it to the nerdy level cause I'm already a nerd. 

Hubby just gave me the green light to have a Star Wars themed nursery. Which will be easy cause I can steal a bunch of stuff from my childhood bedroom. Lol

That's fun!  I have a good friend from high school who is a self-proclaimed super nerd, and she has a 2.5 year old "youngling".  For their first Disney trip (they are also huuuge Disney fans), she had an R2D2 dress made for their daughter which was the cutest thing!  And because they went during Star Wars week, they had coordinating outfits for every day.  

I can't judge either, because if it were up to me, I'd have a Harry Potter themed nursery.  Like, complete with a real owl.  (Maybe not, the Ministry got rid of them for a reason..)

The ladies in my office have been planning to give me a Harry Potter nursery. They have been planning this well before I even got engaged to DH. They are going to lose it when I tell them it's almost time!

I LOVE Star Wars and always have.  Ever since I was in elementary school and they re-released the original trilogy to theaters.  So as a kid, especially a girl, I caught a lot of flak about my interest and excitement around the whole thing. And now all the sudden its cool to like Star Wars? Well that ain't fair.  And it's all the same people who made fun of me growing up that are all excited about it today.  And now I feel like I can't like it anymore because it's so stinkin' trendy.  Ugh.

I did too- DH is a dual citizen but he doesn't want to give our kids any "mick" names because he thinks the red hair and freckles will be punishment enough. My SIL went a teeny bit overboard on the super Irish name- Gaelic spellings abound. Pretty sure her kids were born holding hurling sticks.

Totally agree! I'm a fan of both Star Wars and Outlander. And it was so annoying how suddenly everyone loved them when the new movie/show came out. I got made fun of so much in high school for reading Star Wars books.... and as an adult for reading "trashy romance novels." And now everyone's obsessed. 

I don't even care for the Outlander show. I don't like the way they stretch things out to create hour long episodes. It makes it drag and I find the show to be really boring. I haven't finished season one.

@krzyriver I like the show but it's obviously not as good as the books. I tend to always like screen adaptations because I tend to compartmentalize and enjoy them as their own seperate entities. I agree that some plot points drag but I feel that way about a few plot points in the books as well. I just enjoy seeing a visual representation of the story I've loved for so long. Also, Jamie is seriously hot. It's pretty ridiculous.

I watched the first episode of Fuller House and thought it was stupid. I spent the whole time wondering if the original was just as cheesy and checking to see how many more minutes I had to endure before it was over. I feel sorry that I used to force my family to watch the original.

@MRSCORKER and @krzyriver I love Outlander too!  I started reading the books way earlier than I should have (I was in middle
school!), so needless to say I've been escaping to that world for a long time!  I usually compartmentalize shows versus the books too!  So, I'm kind of enjoying the show.  Because, Sam Heughan.   

That said, when I actually compare the books, and what was in my head, to the show, ugh.  I'm not terribly thrilled.  They leave out so many of my favorite moments!  And all the bandwagon fans kind of annoy me--especially when I bring up a part from the books and they're like, oh, I don't like the books as much!  Ack!

Hahaha, @smmatt08 my feeling is, if you know what hurling is, you have total rights to any Irish name you'd like!
