Finally got our furniture delivered this past Friday and moved all the items into the room. Shower is in 2 weeks so i wanted to get everything sorted and spots kind of figured out pre-shower so i can sort of just bring everything home and put it right away where its ultimately going to go. Though im sure i will need to resort, and the things on the shelves are definitely not staying that way.
Color didnt come out as dark or as really the tone i wanted, but we decided to just go with it. It was called Antique Pearl and ironically enough it really shifts between 3 colors like a pearl would. Depending on the time of day and amount of light, it either looks pink, grey or lavender. But all are extremely subtle and we didnt want THAT subtle. Also, the rug color is nothing like what it looked like on the computer, its much more minty than we wanted, but again were just going to live with it.
The overall theme is like Woodland Fairies, but more like a fairy creating her own nursery rather than covering the nursery in fairy theme, if that makes any sense. We have a long way to go but pulling in a lot of natural elements like moss and wood that we just haven't gotten to yet. Using herbs, dried flowers and things like that in the decor. Have some antiqued fairy prints coming in the mail. Definitely ways to go still and definitely still a lots of mess that needs to get put away. The closet (not pictured) isnt ready yet so hopefully the clutter will be put in there this weekend.
Everyone is so far ahead of us! My husband just finished retexturing the ceiling (yay no more popcorn!) and replacing the fan with a pretty new one. We still have to paint before we move the crib in there and I STILL haven't finished the dresser refinish. I feel like I have all the stuff, just putting it together is not happening very fast.
@NLewis1 it's not actually a real room either haha, that door goes right into our bedroom...it's a weird space at the top of our stairs that has a half wall on the other side but it works perfect for a nursery!!
We have fabric for crib bedding picked out...but we are in a 2 bedroom house...with 2 kids already lol. We are currently rebuilding our credit because my MIL took out CC in H name when he turned 18 and didn't keep them in good standing...yeah...we hope to be moved into a home in 6-6-8 months...whether we buy or buy family land and get a trailer until we can build. She'll finally have a room then . She'll have a rocking crib, though
shainaellis Oh i think an area rug will look so nice! Though it looks fantastic already
NLewis1 We JUST got paint and furniture in like a 3 day period last week. So definitely not that far behind, and the only reason its done is because i was constantly nagging DH lol
We are actually just beginning ours (or I should DH and my parents are!) We emptied it this past weekend and sanded the walls. The room and the hall by it have real wood paneling. We wanted to take it down, but we just can't afford it right now. DH was able to get the room primed. This weekend the plan is to paint and then the following week (maybe two) they will be finishing the hardwood floors. There needs to be some electrical work done and we need to either put a better ceiling light or add a second. By April I want to be able to get in to decorate.

I'm jealous of all of you that have made progress! We have done NOTHING. We bought our glider (currently in the garage) and ordered the crib (will be here in 6-8 weeks) but we haven't even started to clean out the closets, move furniture or paint yet! DH thinks we have all the time in the world... 16 weeks is going to go by very fast!
I love seeing people's nurseries! I can relate to other people who are feeling behind. We have started getting some of the bigger items, but we just moved so nothing is in place yet. I can't wait to have at least a partially finished room to share.
Fun thread! I haven't done a thing besides periodically think to myself, "We really should start clearing out that room soon..." LOL. However, I feel no real rush. We had the nursery all ready for our first baby, then she ended up sleeping in our room for 7 months (!). Not that we didn't ever play in there, etc. Just saying.
I will say this, my water broke at 1 a.m. with DS1 and I was told to wait because my contractions were so far apart. Totally sat in our hallway later that morning telling H and the inlaws whete to put furniture because we hadn't set anything up yet. Y'all are much father than I was at 37 weeks lol
@TheHauntedHauswife we co-sleep, so DD will be in our room until at least six months, so I'm not too worried. Just hate not having a place for her other than our bedroom. No sexy time...
this is ours so far... It needs work. We are tearing up the carpet next weekend. Painting and then replacing carpet with new stuff. When I say we I mean my husband! Lol
Unfortunately with the boys sharing a room now there is no room for the train table that will have to go into storage, I just can't give it away!
@catherinekate nice to know we're in good company I feel the need to remind DH that 16 weeks seems like a long time, until you break it down to that really means just 16 Saturdays to get stuff done, and of those, 4 are in the summer and we live at the beach, he's going to want to be enjoying the weather, not inside painting and building furniture!
Put together the crib, the bouncer, and a bookshelf (gonna need another one cause we have a ton of books and our nursery is doubling as our library cause there's nowhere else to put them). Bought a glider & ottoman on an online yardsale but I want to paint them white and reupholster the cushions. I think I'll get a lot more done after my baby shower in 2 weeks when I know what I have vs what I still need.
We finally have the floor down, walls repainted (the first gray we did was blue... And this picture makes the gray look SUPER dark. It's paler than this), and chandelier hung!
Um, we picked a paint color for the room and cleaned out the room. That's it. We have to paint the room, and eventually get the furniture. I have everything picked out, but my mom wants to buy the crib.
I guess my nursery is mostly done.... But I haven't done anything to set up DS's big boy room that he needs to move into before LO arrives. (Which I've made a goal to complete before the end of this month). I do have fabric for changing pad covers and sheets and they're about half sewn. Guess I need to pick out paint!
We are just getting started in the last few weeks. I felt really behind. We had purchased our glider off of Amazon and when it arrived i was disappointed it was so yellow. We wanted to play it by ear so tonight the furniture was delivered and it's "antique white" meaning it has some grey in the white almost distressed. Seeing the furniture made the chair look even more yellow. Thankfully, amazon had free returns and we don't even have to package it up.
We do have our bedding which is colorful and polka dots. But we haven't painted yet, but we're thinking SW light french grey.
We haven't started a Thing!!! I haven't even picked a color out for her walls. We are supposedly starting this weekend while my six year old son will be with his father for the weekend--easier that way lol! I am jealous of how much everyone has done!
Our nursery is technically done since we just moved my toddler out of it, but I decided to make a few changes for the next baby girl. It's currently yellow and gray, so I'm adding soft touches of purple. Today I redid the picture frames and a throw pillow.
It's about done. Need to put a curtain on the small window (mom is making) and fleece crib rails. Burlap canvas will have their first initial once their names are public. Walls are sparse so I can add newborn pictures later.
So DH is out of town and I went to text him a pic of something I'd bought this morning and realized that me and my mom text way too much! This is a sample of my morning (and how I get my moms help from 2 hours away... Texting pics!). I bought the picture frames, the metal baskets for her changing table, the outfit because how could you not get something that adorable?, and my mom decided she's going to make me a bow holder like the one displayed so I picked out the ivory ribbon for it. Super excited about this nursery!
We have the furniture, now we just need to decorate more we are going to get two more baskets for the cubbies, but not until baby is born and we know the sex. The middle cubby will be for books
Floors and installed, sanded and finished, walls are in and painted, door was just put in! Next up is trim, painting the door and a light fixture! ps it's a light gray but these pictures make it look super dark

If we were having a girl, these are the colors I would have gone with. Love all this!! And are you kidding me with that outfit?!? Adorable!!
Our nursery is super small- I'm so jealous of all these great spaces! But, it attaches to our room so it's really practical. We still need curtains, a changing tray and to decorate the walls. But with 3 months to go I think we're doing pretty well!
