Anyone else had bleeding?

Hi all,

I had some bleeding today that really scared me. It happened after an orgasm, but there was no penetration involved. I had read that sometimes cervical stimulation causes bleeding after sex in pregnancy, but since there was no cervical stimulation I felt really scared. It was mostly dark blood with a tiny bit of bright red blood mixed in. I was scared and called the doctor and they said everything was probably ok. She said that as long as there is no cramping and/or bleeding isnt heavy I shouldn't worry. I still feel shaken up by it. Has anyone else had spotting? Or has anyone has this in a previous pregnancy and had it turn out ok?

I had spotting intermittently from weeks 5-6 with my first and was fine. I think anything that happens downstairs that's out of the ordinary has the potential to cause spotting. I'd take it easy for a few days and drink lots of water. I'm sure you'll be fine!

I had quite a bit of spotting with my last pregnancy at weeks 5 and 7.  It was terrifying.  DS is now 4 and perfectly fine

I had a day of spotting around 6 weeks that started with bright red and ended with brown. Definitely a long scary day

I feel like spotting is a topic discussed frequently on the weekly symptoms thread!!

Here's the problem with posts like these and I am saying this in all honesty. Even if someone else had bleeding or spotting with their pregnancy, it doesn't mean it was the same reason and it doesn't mean it will have the same outcome. 

I had bleeding with all three of my pregnancies last year. First one was a blighted ovum, second was a chemical and the third turned out to be a baby with triploidy syndrome. Yes, I had started bleeding the last pregnancy after an orgasm. Yes it stopped for a while, but started again and lasted for over a week before the baby eventually passed away. 

One persons experience has no bearing on your own.
