Sandman please make the dust stronger!

Anything and everything has been waking me up lately. Once I'm awake, I'm up for hours. Last night hubby came home at 11:30, dogs barked and I was awake till 2:30. The night before, I couldn't fall asleep then when I did, I awoke to DD peeing in my bed. Up for the day at 3:30.
I don't remember having this much trouble when pregnant with DD.
Anyone else struggling with insomnia?
What are your sleeping tips and tricks?

Re: Sandman please make the dust stronger!

  • I've been having issues a couple times a week since about week 6.  I'm not on week 14.  Last night SO was snoring so ungodly loud it woke me up and kept me up.  Ugh, funny thing is he used to never snore!  I honestly don't have any tips or tricks, some people take a sleeping pill, I usually just lay awake for an hour or two.  I have noticed if I get up and eat something that about 30 minutes later I'm sleepy again.

  • Ugh I'm sorry. It is so frustrating! Once I'm up all I do is think about how much time I have left to sleep.

Every now and then, like maybe twice a month, I'll take half of a Unisom and that helps me. Also when I remember I use a few essential oil blends and that also seems to help me relax and get back to sleep. Could be all mental, but who cares as long as it works.

  • I've been having the same issue the past few weeks. I wake up at 3-330a almost every night to pee then can never get back to sleep until right before my alarm goes off at 530a. Follow that with a 12hr shift and I'm exhausted and crash as soon as I get home. Then I repeat this process all over again, it's terrible.

  • My daughter wakes up every hour so I end up having stretches where I am laying there wishing for sleep. I also am finding it hard because I often need a daily nap, but then I wake up at 3:30. I was taking half of a unisom, which I should really do again because when I was taking it I also wasn't having my crazy pregnancy dreams!
  • I'm up at 2:30 a.m. on the nose for absolutely no reason at all, and it's driving me CRAZY! No one is waking me, no noise, no nothing! Once I'm up, I can't get back to sleep until about 4:30, then I'm up at 5 for work. :(
  • I've been taking unisom to help me sleep, per my OB's suggestion. It helps a ton when I'm having trouble falling asleep or staying asleep.
  • Hello. It is 2 am here and I am reading a thread about sleeplessness. Ugh. Why am I wide awake? ???
  • I have found that sleeping with earplugs and a cooling mask has helped a TON. Something about only hearing your own breathing is very calming and puts me right to sleep. Last night, I actually slept through the night!
