Today is week 20!! Baby is the size of a banana and a paper airplane.

    Anything baby related this week?
Nothing this week. We did finalize our babymoon plans though. So that's kind of something.

    How are you feeling?
    I'm feeling good!

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
This baby is sooooo low! When s/he moves, it actually hurts. And the peeing, every 2 hours like clockwork.

GTKY: Are you having a shower? If so, when will it be? If not, what have you bought so far for baby?
Yes I am! My best friend and mom are hosting it. It'll be May 21st. I helped picked the venue and I get to go to a cupcake tasting for it. Otherwise, I'm clueless to what will be happening.
  • What week are you/ What kind of fruit or object size is baby? 21 weeks! Size of a pomegranate

Anything baby related this week? hmm, not that I know of! A lot of my registry and other baby related stuff is already done!

How are you feeling? Heart burn sucks. Other than that, I have been feeling the baby kick more and I am trying to catch it on video for myself =)

    Rants/Raves/Questions?

GTKY: Are you having a shower? If so, when will it be? If not, what have you bought so far for baby? Yes! I think maybe sometime in early June?

    21, pomegranate

DH and I have been brainstorming middle names for this LO - we had agreed on Henry for a first name. DH's name is Dylan Thomas after the Welsh poet, and part of his lineage is Celtic, so I think we're going to try for a Gaelic boy name. Of course now that DH has been looking at Gaelic names, he might not be set on Henry anymore. He just came up with Domenico Matisse, which sounds really cool, but maybe like we're trying too hard? My son's name is Jackson Battista, which we think is pretty awesome, so we're trying to make sure this LO doesn't get shorted in the name department, while being wary of coming up with something he could potentially hate.

Tomorrow I have a prenatal appointment, so my OB will be going over the results of our A/S from last week with me. Plus I'll get to hear the heartbeat, which I love.

    How are you feeling?
Been pretty sore! Yesterday my tail bone was actually starting to hurt. I guess I need to start getting up and walking around on a more regular basis. For Christmas my parents bought me one of the balance ball office chairs... might be time to break that out!

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
Raves - DH was carrying DS all around last night so I didn't have to... so thankful, but starting to get sad that I'm not going to be able to physically do as much with DS in the upcoming months!

GTKY: Are you having a shower? If so, when will it be? If not, what have you bought so far for baby?
This is my second, so I'm not expecting a shower.
I did start this job in August of last year, and I know that they threw a shower for my director for her second baby because it was her first baby with the bank, so maybe they'll do something? I'm not anticipating any gifts, though... I'd be happy for an excuse to eat cake though! My MIL also mentioned a "sprinkles" but I said that I thought it'd be inappropriate, especially since I already have a boy and all of the stuff!

I've been stalking the swap & sell sites and bought a crib, glider, dresser, and double stroller. I already have all the clothes and other gear, so I think I just need to buy a crib mattress, bedding, changing pad, and changing pad cover yet. Feeling pretty prepared!
  • What week are you/ What kind of fruit or object size is baby? 22 weeks. Papaya or a Guinea Pig. Now I want a papaya....

Anything baby related this week? Nope. Midwife appointment on Wednesday next week.

How are you feeling? Still just so tired. Finally starting to look and feel pregnant. Just more heaviness in the abdomen now.

Rants/Raves/Questions? Outside of being totally exhausted I really can't complain. I bought a snoogle on the weekend and it is so amazing! I'm totally addicted and I can't believe I denied myself that in the first pregnancy.

GTKY: Are you having a shower? If so, when will it be? If not, what have you bought so far for baby? No, this is our second so no shower. I did buy a stroller on kijiji to handle 2 kiddos but other than that we have not bought anything. The only thing we'll really be buying is a hospital outfit in case this is a girl. And new furniture for DS so he can move out of the nursery into his new big boy room.
  • Went to my OB appointment today and she doesn't want me to gain any more weight :(  She told me to focus on eating healthy foods, which I have been doing, and exercising a little more. She compared labor to the hardest workout I will ever do and while I don't need to train for it, I do need to prepare for it. While I see where she's coming from, it did make me a little sad because I struggle with body image and gained a lot in the first few weeks even before my first appointment.

On the plus side, baby's heartbeat is still strong and I had a great interview/tour at my first choice daycare! I really hope a spot opens up and I'm able to get in there. Right now I'm on the waiting list. I feel really positive about that experience.

  • @sboston06 I feel like that's pretty harsh on your OB's part! I'm pretty sure it's not possible to gain NO weight for the last 5 months of pregnancy! I think if you're focusing on eating healthy foods, that's what matters! I'm glad you had a great experience with your daycare interview/tour!
  • What week are you:  22w, big as a Guinea pig

Anything baby related this week?  Prenatal massage tomorrow, next doctor's appointment is Monday

How are you feeling?  Sore (hence the massage) but otherwise well. The heartburn is still pretty mild so I can't complain

Rants/Raves:  He's moving around a bunch which is amazing. I think my hormones have gone bananas I get cranky/weepy so easy now and I'm normally very in control of my emotions

GTKY:  My mom and grandma are hosting a shower for me early in May (so I have time to shop for everything else I need and in case I'm not able to travel much as they aren't having the shower in the city I live in). I have nothing to do with it other than consenting with the stipulation no fuss or games. My mom did say she's taking me cupcake tasting and that will be amazing
  • What week are you/ What kind of fruit or object size is baby? 19 weeks! (I can't wait to hit 20--eek!) Baby is a mango, Gameboy, hedgehog (personal favorite...they're so cute!)

Anything baby related this week? Nothing really. Does browsing cute maternity dresses for spring count?

How are you feeling? Honestly not bad overall. I'm still really tired and usually go to bed around 8pm. A few aches and pains, especially in my back, and my feet swell after teaching all day. Headaches once in a while too.

Rants/Raves/Questions? My anatomy scan is scheduled for 22 weeks, and I'm worried because I feel that seems late. I mean, I know the doctors know what they're doing and wouldn't schedule it if it was *too* late, but don't most women get them earlier?

Also, I've felt very sporadic movement/flutters/thumps (at least I'm pretty sure that's what they are...too intense to be gas, I think!) When does the movement become more frequent or predictable?

GTKY: Are you having a shower? If so, when will it be? If not, what have you bought so far for baby? My MIL is throwing me a shower in mid-May sometime, so I'll be around 30 weeks. Husband and I have bought a few things so far, and are absolutely prepared to purchase big-ticket items that we may not get from the shower though.
  • @elldel, I do see them done a little earlier than that but my doctor said they're generally between 18 and 22 weeks, so you're on the tail end of that. Mine was almost exactly at 20 weeks.

I also started feeling little flutters between 18 and 19 weeks but they haven't gotten any more noticeable or more frequent since then. Still very sporadic. Sometimes I feel them a lot more, and some days I don't feel anything at all. My doctor said it's very early to be feeling movement. I'm not sure when regular strong movements start...it likely differs for everyone depending on your size and where the placenta is.

  • What week are you/ What kind of fruit or object size is baby?
22 weeks! Papaya or an ear of corn.

    Anything baby related this week?
Nope, follow up anatomy scan and monthly doctors appointment next week.

    How are you feeling?
Sciatic pain and heart burn are driving me crazy. But otherwise doing well except for a cold that's lasted over a month.

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
Love that baby is moving so much more now, I have serious nursery nesting syndrome but my upstairs is under renovations so I'm mostly just stashing stuff in our basement.

GTKY: Are you having a shower? If so, when will it be? If not, what have you bought so far for baby?
We're having three. One from each family and one from my work. Family ones will be in May, works will probably be in June but we don't have definite dates yet! I have bought too much and I just keep buying. It's too fun.
  • I'm 19 weeks today! Baby is as big as a game boy, mango or larger because last week I was at 9 oz and that's bigger than what I should be this week! So maybe I'm further along than previously thought.

I am super tired. My feet are so sore after work and I get random bursts of nausea. It's getting hard to bend over.

I am starting to feel the baby a little bit. I'm getting excited because I'm having a gender reveal party this Saturday! Our baby shower won't be til the middle of May.
