Interest in New Beco Baby Carrier?

I'm considering going to a local event and the pricey ticket option gets you a Beco baby carrier. I don't want the carrier but wanted to see if anyone else would want to purchase it from me for $90. The one that comes with the ticket is typically $140. I know ergonomic carriers can be expensive so I wanted to offer this discounted option since it is available for me to offer. I don't know if they're going to provide the black or grey version (or if I'll get to choose) but I've emailed to ask so hopefully I'll get an answer soon.
And for those wondering, to give you an idea of where the $90 comes from, that would cover the cost of the carrier and leave me paying the price of the less expensive ticket minus $5 for shipping to you. If no one's interested, no worries! Just thought I'd offer :-)  Let me know if you're interested and we can sync up.

Is this Mommycon? I went to the one near me with the babywearing VIP ticket and got the Beco Gemini and wasn't a fan. At the time, my LO was 11 months old and I just felt like it was too narrow... It's definitely better for new babies! That said, I do have a very VERY special Beco I'm hoarding for Number Two should it be a girl... 

You may have better luck on The Babywearing Swap group on Facebook. Theres over 100k people there who are always looking to buy, sell and trade carreirs. Also, if you are going under $100, the Babywearing on a Budget FB group is great too.

@nsquaredlife13 - hey there! It's called Gearapalooza but I have a friend that was at mommycon a few weeks ago and I expect it to be pretty similar.
I'm a FTM but my BFF uses Tula and one other similar brand so I'm familiar with those and plan to purchase one of those, hence my offer to sell someone this Beco. I could offer it to the BWI group on FB or the swap group but I'm not looking to make a profit so just wanted to offer to my BMB moms since I plan to get to know some of you anyway

Tula is fantastic, my favorite by far, but it is not usable with a newborn unless you get an insert. The insert was too stuffy for us so we couldn't use the Tula for a while as DS didn't fit the Tula until about 5 months old. Even then we had to roll a blanket because it was still a little big. He was in the 90% until about 6 months, so it definitely wasn't because he was a small baby. Recommended weight for Tula is 15lbs without an insert, but it's also very important to make sure they are knee-to-knee when using a SSC. If they cannot freely and easily bend their knees, they're too small. Ergo is a little smaller than Tula, but it still didn't work until about 3-4 months old with a rolled blanket. The Beco Gemini can be used with a newborn baby without an insert because of the way the frame is -- you can snap it in to make it narrower.

Hands down, the best thing ever for a newborn/tiny baby is a Solly Wrap (or Moby if you prefer thicker). They are a little tricky to learn but once you get it down they are super easy and comfy for both mama and baby.

I'm all about the stretchy wraps for a newborn! We love our Tulas now but until about 6 months our Kinderpack was a much more comfortable/safe fit. A woven wrap is great any time, and is worth the effort to learn!

I expect I'll prob use a RS if the insert doesn't work bc it's just so much easier than a wrap. I tried to help my friend wrap and couldn't imagine doing it by myself.

I've been hoarding a Tula creme de menthe RS for baby number two. I also plan on getting a wrap. FX this baby likes to be worn because DS hated it. I had a Solly but he would cry inconsolably in it so I sold it. The Tula worked out good for walks. As long as I was moving he was content.

So jealous! I love TheBabyGuyNYC and I know he does a lot at gearapalooza! Also, what does "RS" stand for? I had an ergo and I HATED it with DS so now I am researching other options for this nugget.

Stands for ring sling :-) They're a lot easier than wraps.

Thank you @bnsmith85. I had really bad back pain (upper right, between spine and scapula) while pregnant with DS and for about a year after. His position inside of me made me bend over to the right and it messed me all up. It still bothers me occasionally. Because of that, I need something that puts most of the weight on my lower back and doesn't pull my shoulders forward at all. I feel like a RS puts all the strain on the upper spine. Any suggestions??

ETA: I have the Ergo and hate it. It is too bulky on my shoulders (I'm very petite) and pushes my pants down because I am so short waisted it sat right on my belt line.

I have a Boba and love it! It's very similar to a Tula only it comes with an infant insert and can be used from 7-40lbs.

I love baby wearing. And I love that in Tanzania it's the absolute norm,Babies are tied on to backs with traditional fabrics and have it over one shoulder makes it easy to swing the baby onto your front for feeding or climbing into a car. Haha. Women wear their babies everywhere all the time here. Or older siblings "wearing" their younger siblings. And it's just like this:

@nsquaredlife13 - do you have any suggestions for @LizaKate1213? I'm not a BW expert by any means... just learned a few things because I'm around my BFF and her DS and she loves baby wearing. :-) 

Unfortunately most if not all carriers will distribute the weight either across your shoulders or on your shoulders and hips. I find my Tula distributes weight to my hips, but still a little bit on my shoulders. I don't feel that it pulls me forward when fitted right. It's definitely worth trying. IMO the Tula is more comfortable than the Ergo. Also @LizaKate1213 if you can find a local babywearing chapter through BWI you can go check out a babywearing play date and try on a few.
