Has anyone ever had to figure out how to get their beta tested while on vacation? My first beta is 2/29 and subsequent betas should be 3/2 & 3/4. I'm going to be in Southwest Florida visiting family. Thanks in advance!

  • Hi!
Not sure how it works overseas, but check with your families doctors office if they can take a sample?
Nearby hospital might be able to help too.
GL, let's get some good betas!

  • I was on vacation for my betas for a few of my past IUIs. I ended up just waiting until I got back into town which only delayed it by a few days. While I really wanted to get the results, I'm glad I waited as to not worry about getting negative news while trying to enjoy myself while on vacation.

Ive heard of people finding local clinics like lab core or similar and having it done through there

  • I too am in a similar pickle. I have my first beta on 2/26, but I leave town for 6 days on 2/27. I'm not sure what my doc is going to have me do. When I told him right after my transfer he didn't seem concerned that I wouldn't be here. I'd say ask yours what they'd like you to do. It may depend on how strong your first one is.

  • Hi!

I also have my beta during vacation! My nurse recommended going to a lab to get the blood work done. Not the most fun vacation activity! I will most likely get the results the following day, which is pretty disappointing as well. Contemplating just waiting until I get back from vacation (a whole WEEK after scheduled beta). Not sure if I can hold out that long though, and I really don't want to be taking progesterone and estrogen the whole time if I don't have to.

  • We have a facility called Any Lab Test Now where you can order your own labs. Your insurance won't cover it since it's not ordered by a doc, but if you're anything like me, you'd rather pay than wait for the second beta!
