Upcoming appointments: End of the month!

    Questions for the group: None

GTKY: What activity are you the most excited about doing when LO gets older?  Oooooohhh I don't know! I think taking them to places like theme parks, zoos and aquariums and having them understand what is going on.

  • Week/ fruit: 29 weeks, acorn squash

Rants/raves/symptoms: Still trying to get over a my sinuses, mostly gone now, finally! All the coughing has my lower abdomen achy, which doesn't help right now. Lil man has been super active lately and it's fun to sit and watch my belly :)

Questions for the group: Doctors have said I'm on track for a 7-8Ib baby...if they're right would you start off baby at 0-3 month clothing or try newborn for a few since they'll lose some weight when the come home?

GTKY: What activity are you the most excited about doing when LO gets older? Sporting events, if he's athletic OR concerts if he's musically talented like his mumma :)

  • @amovin21 newborn but don't buy gerber baby newborn things because they are tiny and closer to premie sized. DD was 7lbs 12ozs when born and she wore newborn clothes for the first 3 weeks. She gained weight very quickly once we were home and lost 10ozs in the hospital. HTH!

  • Week/ fruit: 26 - head of lettuce (is it just me or does the fruit no longer make sense?)

Rants/raves/symptoms: Hungry, back/hip pain, slight feet swelling

Upcoming appointments: Cardiology weekly (due to a heart arrhythmia) and next OB is on 3/5

    Questions for the group: Nada

GTKY: What activity are you the most excited about doing when LO gets older? Sports and taking them places and watching them learn (zoos, aquariums, parks, etc).
  • Week/ fruit: 28 weeks - hello third trimester!  (eggplant - I agree the fruit/veggies are always kind of weird)

Rants/raves/symptoms: Oh, just moving a little slower these days.  Everytime I get up to use the bathroom I feel all stiff, walking on my big feet (only a few pairs of shoes fit these days).  Also my knees hurt - I guess from the added weight and being an older mom this time.  I love all the kicks and movement!  They never bother me (hurt me) and never wake me up or keep me up (so far!).

Upcoming appointments: next week.  Glucose test.

    Questions for the group: none

GTKY: What activity are you the most excited about doing when LO gets older?  I've always been a big fan of library story times.  I'll probably start taking them when they can sit up.  I also enjoy seeing my big kids play sports and hopefully the twins will be interested too (but if not, that's ok!).  I will say that the more kids you have the longer you wait to sign them up for things (just more $$ and more running around town!).
  • Ok, changed my mind. I do have a question. Is it normal for women who have an anterior placenta to not feel the "hard" kicks. I feel my girl all the time but they are never the painful kicks I hear about.

Also, full confession. I'm 27 weeks next Friday and I will consider myself 3rd trimester. I'm over the 2nd trimester!

You don't have to wait until they can sit up! It's actually important that you start reading/talking/singing to them right away- even if they don't seem like they are paying attention. Facial expressions are also a key part of how babies learn - so even at home it's best to have them in a swing or something so they can look at you.   Most libraries now have storytimes specifically targeted to infants.  (sorry I let my children's librarian show)
  • @mrstmoose the fruit definitely doesn't make sense anymore. I have an anterior placenta too and I have also never felt pain from kicks/movement.

Week/ fruit: 30/ Cucumber (cucumber is really weird)

Rants/raves/symptoms: I'm definitely getting more and more uncomfortable. I wake up constantly throughout the night and I'm exhausted. I am just loving all of the movement and the way my H interacts with my bump. Lately she has moved at the sound of his voice which gives me all the feels. She also pushes bag when my dogs lean on me and their reaction to it is hilarious. They don't understand where it is coming from.

Upcoming appointments: OB appointment 2/25 - I think I'll be seeing her every 2/3 weeks moving forward but I'm not quite sure.

Questions for the group: Can't think of any right now...

GTKY: What activity are you the most excited about doing when LO gets older? I'm excited for all of the activities and adventures of course, but I think I am most excited just to be able to have conversations with her.

  • Week/ fruit: 28/eggplant

Rants/raves/symptoms: A little bit of swelling, but nothing compared to last time so far. I feel a lot of pain/pressure "down there" especially when I roll over at night. Not sure if that means he's sitting low?

Upcoming appointments: Had one this morning! Super quick, and I was cleared to travel across country next week for work. Is it bad I was sortof hoping he'd say no so I could stay home? lol I hate traveling, but enjoy myself once I'm there. Plus, this will likely be my last trip out to see my west coast coworkers in a year or more, and I'm also having a long layover in CO so I can see my best friend who moved there this summer. It's going to be an exhausting trip, but I think it will be worth it!

    Questions for the group: NA

GTKY: What activity are you the most excited about doing when LO gets older? I can't wait to go to Disney World!! We thought about taking my daughter this past fall, but decided against it to save money. Now we'll likely just wait until this LO is 2-3 before we take the family trip. Can I just start planning it now?! :)

  • @amovin21 they haven't told me what I'm "on track" for yet, but considering my daughter was 10 lbs, I'm expecting a larger (8+) baby. I only got about 3 newborn sized outfits so far, as my DD never even fit in them (we had to send my mom to our house to get larger outfits to bring to the hospital!). We've stocked up on some 0-3 and 3-6. My DD was in 6 months by about 3 months. I'd rather them be a little big to grow into versus only being able to wear once (or not at all). Hope that helps!

  • Week/fruit-26/Head of lettuce

Rants/raves/sypmtoms: Feeling her kick stronger and morr often♡♥. My hips are starting to hurt me at night again which is keeping me awake ><. I have been extra tired and emotional this week.

Upcoming appointments: 3/9 for my 28 week/Glucose test. Praying for good results ever so much.

Question for the group- All I want is a pair of medium/light wash skinny maternity jeans..I have search high and low for a decent priced pair. Any ideas?

GTKY:  Including her in all the adventures that DH and I do/have!
  • Week/fruit- 27/ bunch of bananas

Rants/raves/sypmtoms: I've still had some morning sickness this week. AHHH I think it will never end. I've also had heartburn in the evenings! But besides that I'm feeling good. I passed my glucose screening. But I was sent to Labor and Delivery on Wed because my blood pressure was high.  Two hours of monitoring and every single reading was normal. I have a lot of anxiety at my dr.'s office and met a new doctor this week. She was very rude and I am trying to decide if I should switch practices at this late in the game.

Upcoming appointments: March 3. (I was switched to every two weeks early to monitor blood pressure)

Question for the group-  None this week.

GTKY:  I just can't wait to meet him! We were gifted a hiking backpack and can't wait to take him hiking with us. our first son is super athletic and I can't wait to see what our new little boy will be like!

    Lilypie Pregnancy tickers

  • @mrstmoose - this is my 3rd pregnancy and I never have painful kicks. I also have always carried low and so I've never been kicked in the ribs or felt shortness of breath (unless I'm doing something physical). @finnybooboo - Disney is awesome! We went when my kids were 5 and 2 1/2. Under 3 is free!
  • BabyL52716 Did you check Old Navy? I was looking for anything but skinny jeans and they of coarse only had skinny jeans in my size!

That's funny haha. I did but all they have are the ones with a side panel that is stretchy. I was looking for either full panel or maybe below the belly. All I can wear right now are boots and skinny jeans look the best/are the easiest thing to wear with boots.
  • @BabyL52716 I'm all about Gap full panel maternity jeans. They're not cheap but they're not super expensive either ($69.99) and you can get them in a variety of washes.

That is crazy expensive to me! I am looking for nothing more than 40 $. Plus having like 3 months left not sure its worth it.ugh I can't wait to buy normal ppl clothes again!

Yeah, good call. I've had mine since late in the first tri. I can't wait for normal clothes either! My shirts are getting too short and I really, really don't want to get any new maternity clothes.
  • Have you tried Target? I'm really trying not to buy any more pants but I have a feeling I may need to buy a few capris or shorts. And maybe a few more shirts. You know, because bump. :)
  • @babyl52716 I bought a pair of full panel jeans like you're describing from Target. The
medium was too tight and the large was a bit big, but they were fairly inexpensive and I'm only going to wear them for a few months longer anyway. I also ordered a couple of bootleg jeans from Motherhood - I think it ran me a total of $40, because they were having one of their clearance sales - and those were the ones that fit me the best (like, seriously, my butt has never looked this awesome). The brands were Wildflowers and Indigo Blue, and I ordered them in a large.

  • Week/ fruit:
     27 weeks/rutabaga

    Rants/raves/symptoms:
I'm feeling okay but have bouts of insomnia which makes me terribly moody!

    Upcoming appointments:
I had an appointment today and only gained 5 pounds since last time which is a marked improvement from previous months.  I've gained about 30 pounds so far but I started out a little on the thin side so my OB isn't concerned.  I am measuring right on track which is kind of odd for me (usually ahead 2-3 weeks by fundal measurements at this point).  I have to have my glucose test this week so I will be nervous about passing.

    Questions for the group:
anyone read the hypnobirthing book and have a successful natural delivery?  I'm going to give it a try.  It came with a relaxation cd which might come in handy.

GTKY: What activity are you the most excited about doing when LO gets older?
I have a 4 year old DS and 2 year old DD so I have the best of both worlds.  They love to go to museums and pretty much get excited over everything.  I guess I look forward to doing more in depth art projects and games as they get older.  Also, it's fun teaching them to read and do simple math.  I can't wait to have a squishy, tiny baby to nurse and hold.  They grow up too fast!
  • Week/ fruit: 29, half the size of a large Cheesecake Factory Cheesecake (babysizer.com), way better than fruit amirite?

Rants/raves/symptoms: rants: getting diagnosed with GD, super upset/pissed, pulled a leg muscle or something, getting some HARD kicks from baby (this morning he went berserk and was kicking and hitting me from the inside, it was very weird. Raves: the not so hard kicks!, only gained 11 pounds so far, so I'm proud of that. I'm anticipating not gaining much when i start my diabetic diet

Upcoming appointments: Tuesday with the dietitian (they said it will be over 2 hours long! ugh ugh ugh!) and the OB on Thursday

Questions for the group: So at our last appointment the doctor told me our baby is sideways vs breech or normal and when he went crazy kicking and hitting last night it was to the right and left of my belly button, so I'm pretty sure he's still hanging out that way. Anyone else's baby positioned that way? Seems a weird way to be...

GTKY: What activity are you the most excited about doing when LO gets older? taking him to the zoo, Disneyworld, children's museums, sport's games, etc.

@amovin21- I'd do maybe a couple of newborn outfits. that's what we're going to do.

  • @Sienna516 babysizer.com is the way I'm going with weekly size comparisons from now on. This week DD is at the size of the head of Thor's hammer! Way more fun than TB's fruit comparisons and any of the others found on Ovia. B)

  • @Sienna516 my LO is still laying transverse as well. At the u/s yesterday, she said some babies don't move until 32-36 weeks. I'm not going to worry about it until they give me a reason to!
