Intro, 6 dpo with IUI

Hello everyone. This is my first post after reading for years. Here's my story....
My husband and I have been ttc for 3 years. We are both mid 20's with unexplained infertility.
I tried one cycle with clomid, and 4-5 cycles using Follistem injections and the ovidrel trigger shot. One cycle was cancelled due to too many follicles and all the other times I only had one follicle. My doctor is always playing a game of getting me to have a few follicles but not too many. My follistem dose is usually 25-33mg daily since I am sensitive to it. 
Currently I am 6 dpo and this time I had two follicles!  My IUI was 2/11/16. This is the only time that the cycle has gone right. 
I have been on an IVF waiting list and my name is now at the top of the list. So, if things don't work out this cycle I will start the workup for IVF. 
I'd love to avoid any further treatment and just end up pregnant this time around. 
Who else out there is around 6dpo and is (im)patiently on their tww?!?

I already welcomed you in the February IUI thread, but wanted to comment here as well!  Today I'm 5dpo (IUI was on 2/13) so we're on similar cycles.  I'm testing on 2/27, so right now just trying to relax during this TWW!

I respond quickly to follistim too.  For my first IUI I had 2 mature follicles and 2 that were close to mature when they triggered me (which might have matured by ovulation), and for this IUI I also had 2 mature follicles and 4 that were close to mature when I triggered.  Both times I triggered on CD 9 and had IUI on CD 11 because I responded so quickly!  My RE isn't as concerned with multiple follies though because we have MFI.

Good luck to you this cycle, hopefully you won't need to worry about IVF!

Hello @wifeinraleigh28. Thank you for welcoming me. Your wedding photo is gorgeous!
I meant 5 cycles with meds. Ive had 3 or 4 IUI's. My doctor is very persistent and willing to keep trying but IVF is around the corner if it doesn't happen soon. 
I'm SO happy to have someone to chat with that is on a similar schedule. One of my first cycles I had 10 follis and IUI was cancelled. The next time I had 7 and my doctor reduced my follistem to 'starve' out some of them but we ended up with only one folli that was maybe healthy. Each time after this, my doctor was afraid to give me too much follistem which kept resulting in just one folli. This cycle went really well though and I had two nice, mature follies! 
The last few tries I just waited for AF, but this time I have those cheap pee sticks on hand and will likely test a little early.  
Good luck relaxing during your TWW! I've been trying to do the same.

Our bodies can be so unpredictable sometimes! I'm glad you had the right response this time around

DH and I have an agreement to only test on 14dpo and not before... Sometimes I feel tempted but I like that I'm "not allowed to." It relaxes me and keeps me from obsessing about it!
