Monitors?! Looking for a video monior with no feedback/static ideally.... reccommendations?

SO i have researched and researched baby monitors, enough to give anyone a headache. It seems like EVERY monitor has bad reviews and great reviews. Ideally I would like to stay around $100 since we are planning on this being our only child.

Ideally I am looking for a monitor that doesn't give constant feedback or static noise, and that I can dim or have in sleep mode at night so I can sleep. I guess a lot of monitors have the feature of coming on when the baby makes noise but it seems like those are hit and miss. But those are my two MAIN must haves. My husband just wanted to get a wifi security camera or something like TheNest and use one of our ipads, but that means the ipad would have to be on all night with the sound and the picture, and in a dark room that is going to bother me.

Anyone have any good reccommendations for a trustworthy unit that at least does those two things? I have found a few over $200, but we really didn't want to spend that much. We have a one story house so its not like I will be downstairs and need to rely on the monitor while being downstairs far away.

Feedback generally happens when you have the monitor too close to the camera.

We have been using our Levana monitor for 18 months now and have never experienced feedback. It goes into sleep mode and the monitor turns on when our daughter makes a noise.
