So a couple months back I posted about having a marginal cord insertion that was found at our anatomy scan. Yesterday we went back in for another level II ultrasound to check baby's growth, and it has fixed itself! Apparently the placenta grew quite a bit and now the umbilical cord is coming out of the center where it should be! So for anyone who had this issue, it can solve itself... which I didn't know. Yay! Good news! They were worried that his growth might be affected, but it turns out instead he's measuring 1-2 weeks ahead of schedule. Oh Boy. I think he might be huge instead!
Re: Marginal Cord Insertion - Update
I was diagnosed with velamentous cord insertion at 20 weeks, skipping the whole marginal diagnosis. I don't think there's any possibility on mine rectifying itself according to my doctors but it's great to hear about a positive outcome. The 3 week growth scans are exhausting and stressful (my daughter has been running on the line between 10th and 20th percentile in size so they've been closely monitoring). I feel like between the neonatologist and my OB that I am just about always at the doctor.
@TinaTho I'm sorry it's been so stressful, it sounds like you are in really good hands tho. Sending you good thoughs and prayers. ((Hugs))
Mine isn't resolved but is also not causing any problems.
