  • Late to the game today:

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD: 7

WAYDTGKU: Temping, PNVs, OPKs starting CD10ish

R/R/CS: With both of us travelling a lot in the next week I'm really worried about timing during my FW. I'm going to have to force DH to HIO at all sorts of odd hours in the few days we do cross paths. I'm FINALLY starting to feel better after the full blown flu this week, but my temps are still much higher than normal... I'm just hoping they drop enough in the next few days to detect O around CD13/14.  :(

GTKY (stolen from TWW): What is one thing you have or do too much of? What is one thing you have or do too little of?
Too much loafing around. Not enough movement. I love walking and hiking, I just wish I could get motivated to do it!

  • @Zoey1019 - ah, stress.  Yeah, I don't have a lot of good advice for that one, I'm bad about it myself.  I'd recommend doing some research on Valerian though.  I'm pretty sure I remember that being in the "caution" group when I was looking up various herbal teas.  But I don't remember for sure, and that is definitely an area that is not well studied.

I think the times I've had the most luck not falling into a cycle of poor sleeping due to stress are most often when I get myself into a good "chill out" pattern.  For instance:  At dinner time, I have a cup of soothing tea (like chamomile).  At 8:30 I'm done watching TV or even really chatting with DH.  8:30-9:30 I read something light (and often something I've read before so I won't get sucked in too much).  9:30 everything goes away and I sleep.

If I can hit that pattern for a good stretch, I've noticed that I start winding down just with the tea and sleep better.

That and making sure I exercise (though not right before bed).  The days I exercise, I sleep the best.

  • @MrsDramaK and @RatParade If your SOs are into Clash, keep them the HELL away from Game of War. I made the mistake of recommending it to my hubby to get him off Clash a couple years ago. HUGE MISTAKE!!! It's like Clash on steroids with a way more sophisticated social component. Seriously, it was a drain on the marriage. I got really lucky about a month ago and he forgot to renew a shield or something before going to bed. He woke up to 97 notifications about people pulling off successful raids and they essentially cleaned him out. He was almost to the top level. He finally said "F it" on his own and removed the app. I have never taken so much pleasure from him being in a miserable situation before, and it was awesome!

@GhanimaAtreides O.M.G.  I played Game of War for like two years.  Serious, serious addiction.  Like, serious.  I wish I had known you before so I could have warned you lol!  It for real caused strain between my husband and I.  The only way I managed to quit was when I got a new phone and refused to transfer the game over.  I still want to play, but the fact that I haven't re-downloaded it keeps me from it.  It's definitely the social aspect that makes it addicting though.  I actually starting playing Clash to get me off Game of War  :s

ETA and if he was one of the top players he must have spent some serious cash!  My only saving grace was that I refused to spend money on it.  All my time, yes.  But not money.

@RatParade While he was still playing he said "a couple hundo" and I kinda gave him a bit of hell over it. His ONE saving grace was that apparently high-level players can sell their accounts on Craigslist for at least a grand. When he started deleting the app from all his devices I asked "Why don't you sell it?" and he kept shaking his head and said, "That ship's sailed". That's when I got him to fess to losing everything.

I figured now that he quit he might be feeling a bit more honest... so I cornered him in the kitchen just now. Man, he can't lie. He was smirking like Martin Shkreli. He said $500 over 2 years, so I guess that means triple it.

  • @H4aPartyof5 I totally get motion sickness, or that would be the best. idea. ever. Instead of getting on the elliptical, I took a nap and read some more. I need help.

  • @gardeniagirlknits - my periods have always been as you described.  Murder scene day one, normal to heavy day two, light or just spotting day three and done.  If it's any consolation at all, I'm TTC #2 and my doc wasn't concerned about it when I asked before TTC DS a few years back.  I obviously don't know your medical background, but my doc didn't spend more than 3 seconds saying 'it's within normal range'.

@Zoey1019 - have you tried meditation?  I'm not crunchy, but guided meditation really works for me.  My job isn't stressful (except for the SAHM part some days) but my mind is so.freaking.busy.  It helps me turn off all the thoughts.

  • Very late to the game today....

    Month/Cycle: 2/2    13/13 total

    CD: 2

WAYDTGKU: waiting for AF to leave

furbabymom2007  NTNP) No temping, no opks, etc., just sex starting mid next week. He thinks I will still stress but after 12 full months I have an idea when I O. I do know it can change after a loss but I need a month off of truly hardcore trying. It's draining for me. I actually have an appointment with my PCP to talk about my depression tomorrow. I kept putting it off thinking oh I'll be KU next month but I'm at a point where I can't handle it on my own.

GTKY (stolen from TWW): What is one thing you have or do too much of?  What is one thing you have or do too little of?

Too much: tv, worrying, comparing myself to others
    Too little: house chores

  • @dogmomwantinghuman - *hugs*.   It takes a strong person to make that initial step.  Sometimes life is bigger than we can handle.  FX that you have a productive appt tomorrow with an action plan you feel good about.
