Anyone else taking the February Bar exam?

I am taking the February bar exam next week and cannot concentrate at all. Got my BFP on 2/11 and other than sore boobs and that nagging cramping in my lower abdomen. This is a retake for me in PA. Hoping that the morning sickness will hold off until I'm officially 6 weeks-2 days after the second day of the exam.

Re: Anyone else taking the February Bar exam?

  • Hi! I'm not taking the bar, but I am taking the first part of my licensing exam soon. I am a psychologist, and we have a 3-part (written, jurisprudence, then oral) licensing exam. I am probably doing the worst part of it in March. They recommend studying 300+ hours and I know several people that have failed on their first time. I got my BFP on 1/30 and have really struggled to study since then. For me, it's mostly due to absolutely exhaustion. So I feel ya in a sense! For me, the nagging cramping slowed down around the end of week 4 (I'm right around 6 weeks right now). I'll be thinking of you and sending moral support....

I've already taken the bar exam and have been practicing for a few years, but wishing you all the best wishes to stave off morning sickness and any other yuckiness that may come your way in the next few weeks!

  • I took the PA bar in July, so I can only imagine what you're going through now dealing with the first tri as well. You're in the home stretch! Just try to memorize as much as you can at this point. And a day to relax. GOOD LUCK!! Hoping MS stays away!! Make sure to bring lots of snacks and mints just in case.

  • My brother is re-taking the PA bar as well (he didn't pass in July). I know how stressful it is-good luck to you!!
  • Thanks all- I appreciate everyone's kind words. I just have to bear down for next couple of days and then I can be pregnant full time!
@2015dee  I totally get the fear surrounding the failure. It was awful when I found out I failed by 2 points- such an ego bruise.  you've made it this far so you're more than capable! I am rooting for you!
  • I took 2 our of 4 parts of the CPA exam while pregnant with my first one, and it was hard to concentrate! But I then took the other 2 out of 4 parts after having my first one, and that was even more difficult. I passed them all (woohoo!) but I definitely feel your pain. The CPA and Bar exam are different, but I think pass rates are similar.

    Best of luck!
