Ecological BF harder to follow for STM!

Are there any moms doing this especially second timers that are doing this? And do you have any tips or advice for sticking to it?
Im a second time mom and I followed the Seven standards of ecological breastfeeding to the letter with my first.
 Link explaining standards https://cavemother.blogspot.com/2010/03/breastfeeding-and-natural-child-spacing.html?m=1
Not for any reason other than I thought it was the best way to be successful at nursing and being a "natural/attachment type" parent. It's only a bounds that it took me almost year to see aunt flow again. I cannot for the life of me lay down to nap with lo during the day. I have a four year old. Baby's sleeping is so unpredictable only being three weeks old. Big sis is waking with me in the morning 10-11am and going to bed with around 1am after babies last feed. Btw he does give me 3-4 hour stretches at night. I'm trying to wear baby while he naps but it puts pressure on my abdomen which is still tender from my c. I'm also wondering if not being able to nap during the day with lo is affecting my supply in negative way. I feel like he cluster feeds way more the my first. I know that even deviating a little can change you chemistry and give you less time. When my cycle comes back I experience a drop in supply just before my period which made my first super fussy. It would be terrible if I cycled before my lo started solids.

Baby wear! I have a ring sling that I can nurse in and DS naps in a lot during the day.

ETA somehow I missed the baby wearing puts pressure on your incision part... but have you tried a ring sling? You can carry babe a bit higher in them.  I seriously don't think I could survive these newborn days with 2 older kids without it!

  • Agree with @jeanbug12, there is so way I could survive with the newborn and toddler without babywearing. What type of wrap/carrier are you using? I use woven wraps in the Front Wrap Cross Carry and DS is high enough up on my chest that it doesn't bother my c/s.
