I recently took a few months off from TTC as it was becoming to hard on me but now I'm ready to start again. I never did bbt before but today I started at CD 11 and also took clomid this cycle. I'm just looking for any info on what CD you should start temping and do you ovulate after it rises or before?
Thanks!
Re: BBT info...I'm slightly confused
You can start now though and by the time your temp rises 3 days in a row over your low temp, you will have confirmed ovulation. If you aren't using Fertility Friend app yet, start now. It's free and very easy to use. You also get emails with great charting lessons.
Are you being monitored with ultrasound and blood work for your Clomid cycles? Most people on here would agree Clomid without proper monitoring is not good.
7 IUIs, 7 BFNs.
2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs.
Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire.
Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus!
fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP!
Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)
Basically you want to see shifts in your overall temperature. You'll usually slowly decline as you head towards ovulation. Right before ovulation sometimes you'll see a temperature DIP, when it is followed by a RISE in temperature it confirms ovulation. Generally you ovulated on the temperature dip day but this isn't confirmed until you have 3 risen temperatures that follow. So you have to keep trying just in case.
It takes a few months of temping to get to know your body and rhythms etc. and know what's normal for you. I love the app/website fertility friend. I find it helpful.
Other things to look for are CM and cervical position/firmness. I could never get a good understanding of the cervix test, but I find CM one of the most helpful indicators along with temps.
Also you can look for an implantation temperature dip (though I have this dip monthly and never been pregnant, so don't get too excited) as well as a third rise in temperature after implantation (never experienced as I've never been pregnant). If you join fertility friend you can actually search example charts of cycles ending in pregnancy or not or whatever. Really great tool (but try not to obsess over it like I sometimes can haha).
Best of luck to you. If you have any other questions pm me. I've been charting for years and years.
