Tips for SI Joint Pain?

Does anyone have tips or suggestions for mitigating SI joint pain?  Mine started at maybe 23 weeks, mild at first but increasing in time.  Now at almost 27 weeks, the pain is starting to wear on me, though I am very thankful it's only on one side!  Standing up, changing positions, going up stairs, anything that involves moving my legs separately -- it all hurts.  I can't stand on one leg.  I'm having a lot of trouble sleeping.  I can live with it, but it sure does make me nervous for the remaining 13 weeks! Plus my exercise regimen has come to a screeching halt which I know is bad for baby and me. I'll do my physiotherapy exercises, and I ice.  The chiropractor helps a bit too, but it's only temporary.  Did anyone find anything else helpful? Or maybe a specific stretch or strength exercise? Really appreciate suggestions to help make this more tolerable.

I go to the chiro 1-2 times a week and that's all that helps. Lots of water and just going slow, unfortunately! :(

I wear an SI belt which helps a bit. PT helps a little. I'm assuming and hoping that the ultimate cure is childbirth :)

...actually my PT has told me that I may need more PT post-birth as well. But a girl can dream!

Sitting down to put on underwear & pants, and doing both legs at a time. Generally just avoiding anything that separates the legs or causes pain. Unfortunately I never found a way to get rid of the pain, except having the baby. I suffered from it as the end of my last pregnancy but have mostly avoided it this time around,  which is really lucky because I have read that it starts earlier with each subsequent pregnancy.

I've been having issues from 10 weeks from previous injury/pregnancy and had a fall down the stairs at 13 weeks. Only thing that is actually helping is physio. I have a SI band and I haven't noticed a difference but my physio who fitted me said it might not make a difference now because my bump isn't too big at 33 weeks but will 37+ weeks

Thank you all.  It sounds like we will all be good friends with our therapists and chiropractors after spending time with them for the remainder of pregnancy and possibly more.  I'll start sitting to get dressed. Yesterday, I bought an OTC SI belt to get me through until I see my therapist again, and it might actually be providing a little bit of relief though it's a bit soon to tell.  It's the kind that squeezes around the pelvis, not the ones that support the belly.  Best of luck to the rest of you!

I recommend a visit to a physiotherapist who specialises in pregnancy. Release of the surrounding muscle groups brought me significant relief. All the best

@lttlrunr I also have the si belt and am combining it with physical therapy and it does seem to be helping.

water aerobics has also been great because it stretches and works all these areas but in a low impact way. And it's a great workout :)
