TTC After a Loss

Ovulation test question!

Hi all!
So I've been testing for the last 8 days with the clearblue digital tests and this morning I finally got a smiley  face, but when I ejected the test stick I noticed that the blue dye was smeared all over the little window thing. So I waited four hours and tested again and it was negative.. I'm just wondering if anyone else had thus happen, if it was a false positive and I should keep testing or what!
Thanks!

Re: Ovulation test question!

  • How weird? I'd be confused too. I would trust that it was a positive, because it was more than likely picking up on LH to get a positive reading at all. Maybe your second testing wasn't concentrated enough? I would act like it was a positive and keep testing in the coming days. I've been using the Clearable Advanced and have had flashing smily faces the past 3 mornings and a blaring positive on a Wondfo tonight. I'll be curious if I get my "peak" reading on the digitals tomorrow or what happens.

I'm not sure your testing style, but I always dip my tests, so that way it there is a question or a test doesn't work or is in question I can re-test with the same sample right away. I also recommend never giving too much credence to what is going on inside the digital OPK or pregnancy tests. Drop it in the trash and walk away. This TTC stuff can make you start to question your eyes, sanity etc. ! Good luck in the coming days!

  • I dislike the CB digis for that exact reason. It always looks like the test is still processing to me when I eject it. Ive taken tests similar to wondfos the last two months when I got a positive on the CB (using the same sample) and got positives on them as well, despite the weird looking CB test. I'd guess you just had a super short LH surge and by the time you retested, it had ended (or you caught the tail end of your surge with the first test).

  • Any other signs of ovulation? You may have ovulated before the second test.

Id use a non digital opk.

I've never tried the clearblue, but I have heard more complaints about them than the others. I've had the best luck with first response test & confirm kits...
