It seems like we have a lot of mommas on here where this isn't their first pregnancy rodeo. Just curious as to everyone's family situation. Feel free to share as much info as you are comfortable with.

1. I'm married to DH since 2010. We dated about 3ish years before getting engaged/married
2. I have had 1 other pregnancy that resulted in DD who is currently 15 months. She will turn 2 about 1 month after this baby arrives! (So I'll have a month of 2 U 2!)
3. We're lucky in that we have lots of family nearby. My parents both still work, but they live about 20 minutes from us. My inlaws are both retired and live about 45 min away. My brother and SIL each live about 15 minutes away as well. Sometimes the family so close is overwhelming (people always wanting to stop over, see DD, babysit and kick us out, etc) but it's a great problem to have and DD is so loved.
4. We have 2 cats-Cheesestick (my favorite food) and Sydney. They've been very patient and great with DD, but lately Sydney has been doing this meowing thing in the middle of the night anytime I get up to pee. This will not be amusing if it continues once baby is here and I need those precious hours of sleep!

Nope.

We moved to a new city solely because our family lived here and we wanted support when we had our baby. They are very involved and can't wait for it.
4. What pets do you have?
A golden doodle (watered down - more golden than doodle) who is 4 months old named Kaia and a 6 week old terror German Shepherd named Ruger.
1. My husband and I have been married since June 2011, but have been together since summer 2003.
2. We have a son that will be turning 3 in April. He will be about 3.5 yo when this baby arrives. We loss a son at 14 weeks this past October.
3. We have an amazing family support system. My parents and grandparents live about 1.5 miles away, his parents and sister/BIL live about 2-3 miles away and my sister is about 45 mins drive from us. We spend a lot of time with my family (many times a week) and a good amount of time with his (once a week/every 2 weeks). My father in law also watches our son two days a week. We are so incredibly lucky and we are grateful every single day for it (and it's also a big reason why we won't move!)!
4. We have a turtle that our son names Tangers (which was a little better than the original "Butter Juice"). We got her around November. I think it helped my husband get through our loss, though he claims it was for our son.

3. Do you have family support closeby? How involved will your families be? My ILs live a little over an hour away. Right now FIL babysits DS one night a week between the time I leave for work and DH gets home, but I'm not sure that will continue when baby arrives. I'm sure they'll visit as frequently as they can. My parents just moved a plane ride away. It's a sore spot with my brother and I. I'm sure they will barely know this baby.

2. This is our first!
3. We recently moved to be closer to the in-laws, although they're still 2 hours away, but both are retired so they have the flexibility to visit easily. My family is 5-6 hours away which is really going to suck but we just couldn't afford to live in NY! I know my mom is really upset about not being closer so she can visit and babysit lots. Both sides are super excited, it's their first grandchild for both.
4. We have a 6 month old black lab mix, he's the goofiest most loveable pup, although he's not going to be fond of not being the baby anymore hehe

3. Do you have family support closeby? How involved will your families be? My family lives about 5 minutes away and will be very involved. His mom lives about 45 minutes away (and I wish it was further).
4. What pets do you have? We just lost our 14 year old English Bulldog right after the new year. We're thinking about a puppy this spring but we'll see. We also have to cats and I'm obsessed with them.

This is will be our first!
3. Do you have family support closeby? How involved will your families be?
Yes very close, we live 5-10 minutes away from both mine and DH's parents. We haven't told them yet but I feel they will be very involved. My mom already volunteered to babysit (before we were even TTC) since she does not work, so nice to have that built in!
4. What pets do you have? Two ferrets that we got when we first moved into an apartment when we were engaged and couldn't have a dog, their names are Bear and Bandit and they are 6-7 years old. Then we got our first dog, Zoey, we bought her from a pet shop (I know I know). Then last year we adopted our second dog and his name is Rocky and was a stray and is coming a long way from where he used to be.

@smmatt08 our Zoey is a mix of mini Australian Shepherd and Pomeranian! So much energy in such a little dog!

1. Are you married/engaged/in a relationship? I've been married to DH since 2012 and we dated for 10 months before getting engaged then married a little over a year later. We just knew.
2. Do you have any other children (living or not)? If so, how many/ages/how old will they be when LO arrives? We have one DD who is 10 months now and will be 18 months when this baby arrives Earth side. Right? I'm bad at math--I'm an English teacher.
3. Do you have family support closeby? How involved will your families be? My parents live directly across the street from us and my in laws about 30 minutes away. We have a ton of support and our DD is very loved.
4. What pets do you have? We have 2 dogs, both Shitzus named Jake and Lily. They're the best.

My DD is stepdaughter to DH, and she will be 7 in June.
3. Do you have family support close by? How involved will your families be?
DH has some chronic health issues so we live with my mom (or Gaga as DD would call her lol). It's nice having an extra adult around when DH is feeling really rough. All parents live within 20 minutes and are all really involved with DD. My mom was the last of 5 kids and my parents were in their 30s when they had me, so I had very limited time with my grandparents; they all passed by the time I was 11, so I really push DD to have a relationship with them since I hardly remember much anymore. I want better for her, you know?
4. What pets do you have?
3 cats and 1 dog. Cats range from 2-6 years old and our German Shepard mix pup will be 14 this summer!

1. Married to the most amazing husband/father since July 2012, together since April 2009.
2. Our son, Dylan, will turn 3 a couple weeks after baby is due. And will hopefully be potty trained by then!!
3. Very close to our families! Luckily, my mom and sister live in the same city as we do. Unfortunately, we lost my dad to Leukemia 5 years ago, so he never got to meet his grandchildren.
4. We have 2 Cocker Spaniels, Toby (10) and Cooper (9). My fur babies!!

3. My parents live in our town and we already see them 2+ times per week. I'm sure that will be higher when grand baby #1 arrives. My sister is also here and can't wait to babysit. My other sister is in grad school in GA, and comes home 3-4x per year.
His is dad and stepmom live 2.5 hours away, but her parents live here so we see them a lot. His mom and stepdad live across the country in Wyoming, so we don't see much of them lately. His mom will probably fly in a lot once baby comes though, since she kept working for a local company online when they moved away. His sister just moved back to PA (3 hours away) from FL, so we will probably see her a couple times a year. She has older kids who are
busy so I doubt they will visit much.
4. No pets
1. Are you married/engaged/in a relationship? DH and I have been married for just over a year, we've been dating since senior year of high school (almost 8 years), and have been friends since kindergarten.
2. Do you have any other children (living or not)? If so, how many/ages/how old will they be when LO arrives? This will be our first!
3. Do you have family support closeby? How involved will your families be? My dad lives less than a mile from us, MIL lives about 5 miles away, and my mom lives about 30 miles away. My brothers live about a mile away and SIL lives about 20 miles away. We are very close with our families. I'm sure grandparents and aunts and uncles will be fairly involved as long as they follow our parenting style (to an extent, I know everyone else will want to spoil the crap out of baby).
FIL passed away a month ago and before we were ever pregnant, he always said he was going to be a stay at home grandpa to watch the grandbabies, It is so sad that he won't be able to do that.
4. What pets do you have? We have 3 dogs (June - 5 years old, golden retriever lab mix/Loretta - 4 years old, australian shepherd lab mix//Bama - 4 years old, golden retriever lab mix) and 1 cat.

I have two girls a 3.5 year old and a 2 year old. They will be 4 and almost 3 when the baby comes.
Yes we kind of have family support. My mom is no help she lives about an hour away and she has younger children and my step dad is dying of cancer. My dad is about 30 mins away. We just started talking to our in laws again in April and so far they have been great and very helpful with the girls.
No pets but my dd really wants a kitten.
He has an 8-year-old from his previous marriage, I have a 4-year-old from my previous marriage, we have our DS together and now this LO on the way.
I have more family than I know what to do with, If you need some you're welcome to borrow some of mine!
We have one whore cat. We had two whore cats but the other traitor decided to whore up with a new family. So down to one, who insists on spending more time with the neighbors than with us.

3. Do you have family support closeby? How involved will your families be? Our families live out of state so they will probably not be that involved (which makes me sad). But, we haven't told anyone yet so we'll see!
4. What pets do you have? We have a 3 or 4 year old dog named Ruthie (after Ruth Bader Ginsburg). No one is sure how old she is because she was found as a stray, but now she's spoiled as can be!

All of our family is within an hour of us so they're really supportive and will be there to help.

We have two dogs, Niko (10) and Piglet (9).

Both of our parents live on the other side of the state but will be very supportive. My parents are retired so they will probably visit a lot

We have two dogs (Doppler a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retreiver and Porter a Terrier Mix) and a very old cat.

2. I've been pregnant 4 other times and have 2 children at home. A boy who will be 2 years and 2 months and a girl who will be less than a month away from turning 4
3. We live on the family farm, and my parents live 100 yards away, so they will be fairly involved. Seeing as we all have to work together daily we try to have a little separation in our personal lives.
My MIL lives 20 min away. We see her once every 2 weeks or so.
4. We only have a rabbit right now. The plan was to get a puppy but I got pregnant instead.

DH's parents live 2 hours away. He has some aunts and uncles in state. The family is not very close. My family is spread throughout the country. No one on my side lives near us. We are the last in DH's set of friends to have kids, so we will have a ton of support and hand-me-downs from his friends circle.
4. What pets do you have?
Two cats and a dog. We hope to get another dog, but we're waiting until we move into a house with a yard. This won't happen until after baby comes.

No birth children but my 13 year old niece is with us most of the time and she's going to burst when she finds out she's getting "her own baby" . All her friends have sisters and brothers and the poor only child wants to be a mother hen

Some family nearby. They'll want to be more involved than I'd be happy with. I'm going to hav3e to remind my mother (just like with my niece) that she's not the mom.

We will have been married three years in May, and we got married on our ten-year anniversary.

No, though we did experience an early loss in September.

Both sets of grandparents live about half an hour away. One of my two brothers lives in the same town as us, but he's a bachelor so I don't see him being super involved. My mother doesn't work and plans to help me out a lot. I am hoping she can watch the baby full time for at least a few months to postpone the age at which it starts daycare, and hopefully part time after that. We don't see our families super often, but probably will more once we have a kid.
4. What pets do you have?
One cat, Natasha, and two guinea pigs, Cassi and Nyxi. Nyxi is currently very sick and may not be with us much longer.
2. We have 2 girls, ages are 3 1/2 and 2 (20 months apart). This is baby #3 for us.
3. We did not have any family near us until recently. Both of our families live 1,200 miles from us. Which is not such a bad thing most of the time, no family drama. Recently my Dad relocated to where we live and I will be helping my Mom move at the end of the month. We are really excited about them moving by us.
4. We had a very old cat named Toby and sadly in September we had to make a very tough decision to put him down.

My parents live a few hours south of me. My father-in-law lives 4 or 5 hours northwest in Tennessee and my mother-in-law is in Oregon. We may see some support from my mother and maybe MIL if she comes to visit for a few weeks but I am not expecting much.
4. What pets do you have?
I keep telling DH he needs to buy me a farm. We currently have 3 German Shepherds, 2 stray cats that adopted us and a small 5 gallon aquarium with a few guppies. I am also in the process of setting up a new 55 gallon aquarium to be a showpiece in our dining room. Would love to add a few horses...

3. Both sets of parents and siblings live across the country. We wish we had them closer but both our jobs are here so it is what it is. We are super close with my in-laws and we hope they'll visit a lot!

3. Do you have family support closeby? How involved will your families be? My dad and my husband's mom live nearby and my mom lives about 1.5 away. My brothers each live in different states, but everyone is VERY involved. Our friends are really like our family too and we are the first to have a baby so this baby is going to have a whole village rallying behind it.
4. What pets do you have? Two rescued pups, Minnie and Derby (Derby is the smaller one) and a cat named kitten.

2. Do you have any other children (living or not)? If so, how many/ages/how old will they be when LO arrives? I have three children (and a few miscarriages) and they will be 8 1/2, 6 1/2 and almost 4 when this next one arrives.
3. Do you have family support closeby? How involved will your families be? No, none of my family lives around us. My in-laws live close by but they are no help when it comes to child care. They are good for a meal or two a week though! They help how they can - they are just too old to babysit though.
4. What pets do you have? One cat, three hens and 5 brand new baby chicks!

Our families are an hour away, we mostly drive to see them, now maybe they will make the drive in our direction. We are pleased with the one hour distance though, I know many people have their family much further away.
4. What pets do you have?
We have a dog. His name is Logan and he is a Rhodesian Ridgeback, he will be 7 when baby arrives.

My parents are very local, as well as all of my aunts and uncles. They all love babies, so I am sure they will be incredibly involved, but we will most likely have to leave the area soon because it is just getting too expensive. My brother and SIL live about an hour and a half away and DH's family is spread out across the country - MIL is closest in Vegas.
4. What pets do you have?
We have a 5 year old Boston Terrier named Oreo who is a spoiled princess and will probably miss being the only "baby".

Married by default (living together 6+ mo - tanzania commonlaw) but we are having our official wedding April 2!

We had a MC in early December, and are hoping and praying this one sticks! We are also in the process to (hopefully) soon start fostering-to-adopt a boy who is about 2.5 that I've cared for at my work (a home for orphaned and abandoned infants and toddlers) since he was 3 days old.
3. Do you have family support closeby? How involved will your families be?
We are currently halfway through building our house that is on the same plot of land as his parents so they are literally next door. Most of his brothers and sisters live within a 15 minute walking distance from there as well. We plan to be moving there next month. It's tradition that if the grandmother is nearby she is incredibly involved (helping with meals, washing, housekeeping, ect ect), esp in the first year, of a grandchild's life.
My family on the other hand all live in the States and I'm not sure when or if they'll get to come here so hopefully maybe when the baby is 6-ish-months we can make a trip to the states.
4. What pets do you have?
Two dogs. A street rescue (Patrick) who is probably about a year and a German Sheppard mix (Oti) orphan baby who is approx 10 wks. We got the puppy just before I found out I was pregnant and he's a lot of work and I'm kind of regretting it... hah But they are finally learning to play nice together.
