Pregnant after 35

More bumps in the road; ready for things to get boring with this pregnancy

So, as some of you may recall, I had a little bleeding/spotting a couple weeks ago when I was a little over 10 weeks. The ER doc gave me misinformation and freaked me out into thinking a miscarriage was likely. The spotting stopped within a day and I followed up with the OB a couple days later. An u/s showed a perfect LO with strong heartbeat. Doc couldn't tell the cause of the bleeding.

Fast forward to yesterday morning, 12 weeks pregnant and preparing for a 4-hour deposition for work and I started spotting pink again(could the timing be any crappier?). Tiniest bit of pressure/cramping, but not bad. I made it through the deposition, went home (spotting brown by now) and called the doc. She said she's reassured by the good recent u/s and thinks it's probably just one of those things. I've been resting ever since and still have the slightest bit of brown spotting.

I have an appt with the geneticist today to do the blood draw for the harmony test and hopefully they can do my NT scan today to reassure me baby is doing well. I am just so ready for this pregnancy to be uneventful. Every time I let my guard down and start to think things are going well, I have a new scare. I know I'm not alone and that some of you have also had your bumps in the road on the way to your thb. Just needed to share my feelings and hope you'll send positive thoughts my way!

  • Oh my goodness! I am so sorry @mamafesto! That's so hard. I'm glad your OB feels okay, but I hope you will get good reassurance today at your appointment. So stressful. Here's to a great report today and a truly boring remainder of your 9 months. Let us know how things go when you can. Will be thinking of you and praying for a great appointment.
  • Our babies need a good talking to.  Spotting, while it lets us know something is baking within, is not a fun symptom.  I'm sorry you're still spotting.  I wish we knew what to expect and have it easily symptoms or side effects identified as a "normal" symptom for ourselves.  I hope your blood draw goes well today and that everything comes out as good as possible! Here I am nearing the beginning of my 7th week hoping for a smooth road and I know you are wanting the same thing.  I am wishing you a very uneventful (and spotting-free) weekend.
  • @Mamafesto, I'm sending all the positive vibes I can that you're remaining weeks are smooth sailing ... and that you get some reassurance at your appointment today with an ultrasound!
