pgal and pal (parenting after loss) check-in

How is everyone this week? Sorry I flaked on you guys last week. I was kind of generally in denial the whole week. But I'm going in early tomorrow morning for my induction, so I guess the time for denial is over! I'm so nervous you guys! Compared to last time this should be almost fun, right? But enough about me, how are you?

  • @rainbowminion I saw yesterday that you're being induced tomorrow! I'm so excited for you and can't wait to see pictures!  I have my fingers crossed for a very smooth and joyful birth!

I'm doing ok. I have my 40 week appointment tomorrow. I was 3cm and 60-70% effaced a week ago and I think I may have progressed a bit more. I'm having stronger contractions and lower back pain right now but am not convinced it's going to turn into actual labor. I'm still hoping she'll hold off for another week, but I'm way less emotionally numb than I was a couple of weeks ago. How's everyone else? And how are those babies doing?

  • @rainbowminion I thought you missed becuase you gave birth! I was thinking of you. Good luck tomorrow- you will do great and we can't wait to hear the news of your little minion!!

40 weeks for me tomorrow, due date, but no sign of baby. He's doing well in there so if he wants to cook a little longer I'm A-OK with that.
  • @seckenrode I was thinking the same thing about @rainbowminion I was crossing my fingers that labor started and you went in. Try not to stress tomorrow girl, praying for everything to go smoothly for you and that you can enjoy your new little one stress free <3 Cannot wait to see pictures

Glad you are feeling a little more like yourself @mwmiller4 been thinking of you too. Let us know how you progress for your appt tomorrow.

I am doing ok, still behind you ladies a little bit. 38w1d here. At our appointment dr said I was about 2 cm, and still 50% thinned from the week before. Hopefully little girl continues to keep bumping down. She's been super low for a long time (yet still very high because I have a "weird stomach") so she is in my ribs and her head is very low at the same time. I am just uncomfortable, but I want her to feel good and safe with whatever is going on if she needs to stay in longer or some out. Frankly I could use the extra week or two at work.

Thinking of you all :) Will be checking in to see how everyone else is doing as well.
  • @oxsarah7ox I feel the exact same way about our baby staying put! I want her to come when she's ready (it helps I'm super lucky and not physically miserable) and am fine waiting. I'm now 4cm dilated and about 80% effaced. The midwife thinks I'll most likely go into labor within the next week spontaneously. She offered to strip my membranes but we decided not to try that until 41 weeks (I've heard it's painful, I'm a weenie about pain, and we're not in a rush).

I've been thinking about you all day @rainbowminion ! Sending you all my positive thoughts and can't wait to hear how you all are doing!!!

I'm 37+4 and also hoping baby holds off a bit longer. I have a high fluid load (measuring 41 weeks), so baby can still move around quite a bit and she keeps getting sideways. I've been keeping my anxiety under control, but now I am so scared my water will break when she is not in a good position. They estimated her at 8 lbs 4 ozs (97%tile) at 37 weeks via ultrasound so the birth is also scaring me a bit. Also, this weekend is the one year anniversary of my miscarriage. I don't think I can take baby coming on that day.

Good luck tomorrow! You and baby are going to do great! I can't wait to see photos.

    Edited for clarity.
  • @cbou thinking of you for this weekend. Hoping you have a smooth positive weekend, and that baby comes when they are supposed to with no stress to you. <3
  • @rainbowminion anxiously awaiting your update. Praying to hear your news soon! I didn't miss an update did I?

How about the rest of the girls? How are you all doing? Any more rainbows arrive?

Mine came Monday the 15th. He is beautiful and healthy and I just wish the same for all of you. Helps with the understanding and acceptance of our loss once we have our little ones.

Well wishes to all- happy Friday!
  • @seckenrode congratulations on your baby boy!  So glad that you and baby are doing well!  Thanks for reviving this thread! I've also been waiting to hear about the arrival of  @rainbowminion little one!

We welcomed our sweet Ellie a week ago today (Feburary 12th). She was turned posterior and I spent 3 hours pushing (which didn't seem that long--that epidural was the best decision I made--the back labor and pelvic pain were unreal). She had quite the bruise on the top of her head from ramming into my pelvis and spine on the way out but is doing great!
  • @mwmiller4 so wonderful!! I am so happy for the positive outcomes on this post for our ladies especially.

Hope to hear of the little minion soon! Hopefully she's so wrapped up and in love she's too busy to bother with this board anymore :):):)
  • @seckenrode You called it! Sorry I've been missing, ladies. Minion aka James was born on the 10th. He gave us a bit of a scare with heart rate decelerations with contractions late in labor. I was about to ask for a c section but we managed to get him out without any interventions. Ladies, he is beautiful and perfect! I will get around to posting his birth story at some point, but right now I'm completely wrapped up in loving on my little miracle.

  • @rainbowminion hooray!!!! That's such awesome news! I'm so glad baby James is here and safe and you're doing well! Thanks so much for the update and congratulations!
  • Congrats ladies on your little bundles! I'm 39 weeks today. Baby still has a very unstable lie with all of my fluid, so I have no idea what position she will be in if/when I go into labor or my water breaks. That is really stressing me out, but I am also very eager to meet her. We are going to set an induction date at my OB appointment on Monday if baby isn't here yet.
  • @rainbowminion oh yay thank god! Now that I have my baby I am done with this app, but this board has actually made me feel invested and I've had to keep checking this week and make sure you ladies are good.

I will stick around to hear stories and see pics but then I'm out!

Congrats to all, the last nine months have been real xoxo
