July 2015 Moms

What is happening?

I had my Lo falling asleep by himself in his crib for every nap and bed time.  All I had to do was sit beside the crib.  Never had to do CIO.  He was doing so good now he wants to be held again.  He whines all the time. When he came out of leap 5 he started taking 2 long naps now he wants up after 40 minutes again.  He wakes up several times a night. Please help!  Tell me what I can do?

Re: What is happening?

  • He could be growing through a growth spurt. Remember our babies are still transitioning and growing. Also I've been told that as they grow they nap less. My son takes several short naps a day and a one long one. Hang in there mama and be patient. Your little one probably might be hungry or want mamas cuddles! Keep us updated and good luck!

  • Thank you!  It's tough. The last nap was 20 minutes... I'm a SAHM and when it gets like this I feel helpless and like I have no help.
  • Could he be teething? Babies can wake up more often while teething. I definitely understand it being difficult sometimes to decipher what is wrong. Good luck.

I'm also a SAHM and I agree with previous post teething can also affect their routine. Be patient mama I know everything will get better!
  • Visiting from Aug15. My DD is 6 months and just had a check up today. Her pedi said sleeping and naps might get a little difficult over the next few months as she starts to get sleep cycles more like adults. It's harder for them to transition from light sleep to deep slept and back again. https://www.mybabysleepguide.com/2009/02/sleep-transitions.html?m=1 That just happens to be one of the first things to pop up on Google but it explains some things.
  • I agree, could be many things. Teething, growth spurt, maybe attachment issues and baby just always wants you there ;) maybe baby just wants cuddles or maybe baby just wants to play all the time and doesn't want to sleep. Your lucky you get naps :) my daughter has always fought with us for naps. It takes me two to three hours for her to even sleep! Rocking, sitting by her, eating, changing diaper, even play time doesn't do it. And when she does she only sleeps for an average 15 minutes. She also wakes up two to three times a night. Every baby is different and every baby has there own tricks. :D good luck!
